  1. Given what was moved to get Kane and Bogo, I don’t expect the team’s fortunes would have been any different than what they are today.
  2. Thank you, PA for the play by play for those of us who couldn’t tune in.
  3. Stating our opinions about what the Sabres will or should do is wasting energy as well. I'm sure SDS appreciates all the wasted energy. And the insinuation isn't that he has an opinion. It is that he is using his opinion to direct his (presumably much more qualified) staff. Hopefully that's not the case here. Regardless, I don't really have a dog in this fight so I can't say I care to defend the point beyond the energy I've just donated to SDS's little empire.
  4. The interpretation that he is stating who to draft is not without merit. I've worked for bosses that spoke like that to express their direction. I'm not saying that is the case here, but I am open to the possibility that it may be.
  5. You have my attention. You lost my attention, lol.
  6. I definitely agree that Samson wants a fresh start. But I also think Jack wants a fresh start too. The difference with Jack is, from the teams perspective the feeling is mutual.
  7. Predominately among the “I hate NYC politics so much I want to secede from the state” crowd.
  8. I'm sure after this week the inland streams will be too warm for trout fishing. The way it is going the lakes may soon warm up too much for muskies too. No sense in killing a fish needlessly. I leave for work at 4:35AM. Lots of fireflies on the back roads I travel this AM. First morning I noticed it.
  9. Been that way since Pierre Turgeon.
  10. Why in the hell would anyone be so triggered as to be bothered by whether or not NYR is viewed as a better organization than Buffalo because they won a trade with Eichel? The only ***** thing that matters is that we become a better team overall for the trade. The rest is rainbows. Classic Buffalo reactionary mentality right there.
  11. Maybe I should get a prescription….
  12. ‘Grats! My wife got a promotion today too. And it’s our 30th wedding anny today. And I have a phone interview at 5pm. Eventful day here.
  13. Man, this could turn into huge sanctions for the Hawks. Is it possible for an owner to lose their team?
  14. Gonna be a helluva wild fire season.
  15. Paul Hamilton had done Sabres play by play and is actually quite good at it, but I doubt he’s got the teams good graces right now.
  16. Ahh yes.
  17. Must have been a helluva speech. I can't imagine too many positions more dreary than actuary work. Operating a restaurant would be my #2 choice.
  18. Own and operate a small brewery in a small town.
  19. Its too bad Harrington had probably burned the bridge. He was quite good at play by play.
  20. TIL that I should do some research before posting to facebook marketplace. Sold an old rocking outdoor loveseat today. Had 20 replies within 20 minutes of posting and 3 people wanting to pick up immediately. Alarms went off and dis some research a little too late. My asking price was low by a factor of 10 or 20. Now I know what the rest of the stuff we have is worth. Oops.
  21. Mincing words a little bit. Jack has more value than Sam, for sure. However, for multiple reasons it will be easier to het full value in a trade for Sam than it will be for Jack. Two reasons. 1. Jack does have an injury that adds risk to the trading team and 2. A full value trade for Jack will require several high end assets coming back. Teams will be reluctant to part with that many high end assets. In the end I think Jack still returns almost twice the value that Sam will return
  22. There is quite a bit out there regarding the story, but it doesn't seem to be getting much attention. https://theathletic.com/news/ex-blackhawks-player-on-coachs-alleged-sexual-abuse-they-let-this-happen/PK4TVC0kMDvz
  23. More than a little suprised there is no chatter in here about the Blackhawks sexual assault news story.
  24. This sounds even creepier than normal for Inky.
  25. I’m a lefty. And I’m a former DEC hunter safety instructor. I preached, and live by, use of a safety. This is where comfort and preference really come into play. A safety is an afterthought (if present at all) in most of the striker fired pistols out there. Safeties seem to be somewhat controversial on defensive pistols. But I don’t have a comfort level not using a safety. Being left handed really limits my options as I simply cannot work a safety with my left hand on most striker fired handguns. So I gravitate towards hammer fired guns, especially if they are ambidextrous. Comfort is king here.
