  1. We’re going to bitch and moan about Hagg and the pick is a coin toss to actually replace Risto. Meh. But about what I expected. Hoped for a legit 3-4 D man that was actually tough instead of wanna be tough and offensively talented. Not to be I guess.
  2. Another good point. And that was exactly what we lost when the decision was made to destroy the roster.
  3. I agree with you. I’d rather have the stink of losing than the stink of this horrific background.
  4. Because fans and number sniffers aren’t running NHL teams.
  5. How many were certain they’d rather have Buffalos prospect pool than Boston, Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal, etc? Shiny new toys that were made irrelevant and those other teams all stayed well managed and jumped ahead of us (or more accurately stayed ahead of us).
  6. Yup. There is no need, no certainty, and no benefit IMO to get worse if we change up the roster.
  7. Yup. A well managed team can navigate changes in roster generation without resorting to planned suckitude. It’s probably more difficult to do it as you are relying on later draft picks, but you also don’t have to bribe hood UFAs to convince them to play for you as a hole filler.
  8. Sounds like you are ready for a lunch visit with Widow May.
  9. There needs to be a serious bloodletting over this. Any execs, league and team, that were aware of this need to removed now.
  10. Also, Risto plus could net a good player with more term. There are lots of options that don’t result in hope of draft picks.
  11. A bunch of folks here have been predicting that for the last 7-8 seasons. It wouldn’t surprise me if they made things work for another 7-8 seasons. They know how to plug holes.
  12. We’ll, I thought I replied to this but it didn’t post? Try again. A 1yr for 1yr player that maybe fills a different need or has a different skill set is fine. The whole team can’t all be at the same point in their contracts. And a young, ready for NHL player that has some risk re: ceiling because they are young is fine too. Just need it to be a hockey trade, not a magic bean trade.
  13. Contracts don’t entertain me.
  14. No. I want a hockey trade now. Identify the player we need to improve the roster now and use Risto to get that person instead of a lottery ticket that if it cashes in supplies another Risto. Emphasis on “if”. Edit- I also hate late season trade deadline moves cuz they are inevitably lottery ticket deals. Move the player before they become rentals.
  15. I cannot unsee this.
  16. I hate Risto for the 19th pick. Just hate it. 1. Enough ***** trades for lottery tickets and 2. What kind of player do you think we pick up at 19? Skilled, but flawed. If you choose wisely you might get another Risto. 3. Assuming 2 is correct (and I will because I believe I am accurate here), using the time value of money concept, a Risto on our roster 3 years from now is less valuable that a Risto on our roster now. 4. The time to get these kids used to winning is now, damn it.
  17. LOL it was the same rending of garments we saw on display over Borgen. Marginal players for Buffalo are nothing players elsewhere around the league.
  18. I still wouldn’t hate it.
  19. I think if we were going to get bamboozaled it would have happened already. The fact that Jack and Sam are still here tells me KA is playing hardball.
  20. Would be a helluva story, innit?
  21. I hate the idea of losing Samuelsson. He’s the one kid in the organization that I am excited about. But he’s not untouchable for sure.
  22. Not sure what territory I’m in right now, lol. What is the current read on me?
  23. I recall the quote’s context as noone ever quit, although I think the word quit wasn’t used. Likely left was used, but the context was quit as I recall. You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave. Unless we show you the door.
