Trading a 2C for a 3C is an interesting move. I guess good on COLs GM for recognizing that Casey in the playoffs wasn’t going to work and building up their 3rd line was better value? That Byram trade sure ain’t a negative trade in my eyes right now. Not that it was a positive trade lol

A grifter’s story, innit?

If the Sabres played the Amerks in a 7 game series, who wins?

This is absurd. All you need to know to predict an outcome is the performance of Aube-Kubel since he’s been sent down. Very good AHLer, invisible NHLer. The gulf between mediocre NHLers and good AHLers is wide and deep. -

I had read somewhere that after the 4 nations break Lindy told the team they were breaking down the rest of the season into 5 game segments, with 3-1-1 or something like that needing to be sustained to make a shot at the playoffs. And they failed miserably in their first 5 game segment. They were doing fairly well in garbage time. As soon as the coach put some expectations in front of them they crapped their pants. -

What will be the Sabres approach at the trade deadline?

If we knew how KA’s thought process works I would agree. Alas……

This is…….. well, i won’t type out what reflexively came to mind but there is a whole spectrum of players between JJ Peterka and Connor McDavid ffs. Like, a Gulf of Murica sized spectrum.

I don’t think I want to see any players moved at the deadline. My rationale: 1. We won’t be buyers, so there I don’t expect pleasant surprises. If we are buying, I am interested. 2. They need to keep these young players focused on winning. It needs to be the expectation. Moving guys like Zucker shows the players that the team is still not committed to a message that winning is the priority. 3. Sellers typically get picks/prospects back as buyers are not looking to move valuable roster players. We have enough picks/prospects and our timeline should not be a picks/prospects timeline. 4. I want the team to save its ammo for the offseason, when real hockey trades are better made. Having said that, if our FAs tell Adams they aren’t sure they will re-sign, I accept that we probably need to move them for whatever value we can get. But I will grouse about it because this team still needs to focus on winning games now.

Technically, I believe the phrase used was “no foul play”. They could have decided to go out together. Or something like CO poisoning.

You are in the mud. Makes you a pig too.

Thats my point. For all of your looking down your nose at Buffalo sports fans, You are here with the rest of us. It is mental gymnastics to think you are above the group you choose to run with.

No joining needed. We’re cool like that. I’m concerned for you. Must play hell with your self esteem to realize that you are grouped so tightly with people you think so poorly of.

Your disdain is on your sleeve. Maybe a fanbase closer to your superior altitude would be better for you?
-
You must be so embarrassed to be a part of this fanbase.

Were you impressed at all when he’s played with NHLers?
-
He did get 2 callups, and every preseason he has an opportunity to beat someone out for a job, so he’s had opportunities, and couldn’t stick. Pounding the door for Murray is desperation.
-
The team has seen his skill set and determined that it is an AHL level skill set. The AHL is riddled with guys who show well at that level and can’t do it at the NHL level. I can’t believe this is even a discussion point.

Murray has putting pucks in an AHL net skill. Let’s not get carried away.
