Again, you are assuming a character flaw where there may be a very neutral reason. He’s not obligated to tell us who he tried and didn’t try to contact. Why assume the worst case here?
-
Of course I followed it. They were discussed here ad nauseum. Again, you contribute it to malfeasance. I contribute it to sources. It is so much easier to discredit what we don’t like as immoral behavior when more than likely there is more nuance to the story.
-
I assume you got to this without any actual knowledge of the industry.
-
I don’t remember that at all. Not doubting you, just don’t have any recollection of it. So maybe what he wanted to be was what Tuchs is today? I still think he had that in him and his alcoholism stole it from him. Its a little interesting that Marcus Foligno turned out to be a better Kassian than Kassian.
-
That was his game in juniors. Did you expect his game to change?
-
I think without the alcohol he would have been that skilled player.
-
Or he was reporting the only information he had. This is exactly the point I am making. You assume an agenda where it may be the only info he was getting.
-
I'm surprised this isn't getting more conversation. I'm glad for the guy. Imagine what could have been if he didn't have an alcohol problem. He was projected to be a Tom Wilson. Boy that would have been something in a Sabres uni.

And getting paid. Which is why he does this. FFS, I think the thing that is going to hasten our downfall as a society is the mistrust of journalism that has been fostered over the last decade. If I don't like what they've reported, they are liars and shills. 🤥

In his defense he also said KA wasn’t leaking at all. He went with the only source he had and the story might have been more complete if the other side offered info. JFC whats the guy supposed to do, lay down and not do what he’s paid to do?
-
Product of his era. Mike played when guys were accumulating 300 PIMs. I think the roles overall may be more similar than different. Adjust for era.
-
They? I seem to recall the Risto haters were Dahlin fans. Alot of cognitive dissonance if they change their tunes.
-
This is where I take issue with the concept of “not blocking players”. Kids need mentors. Defensemen especially need mentors. Rasmus needs a mentor badly. Power will. Mule will too.
-
I think we are getting close to Rasmus’ skills being fairly well defined. He’s more Housley than Lidstrom. More Coffey than Bourque. This is what he is. He’ll need a Samuelsson or Power type to pair with. You can live and excel with him in that way, but you’ll suffer if you can’t put a smart, positional guy opposite him.
-
Pretty sure the comparable was Mike Foligno, not Marcus. Mike was a textbook power forward with good skill and hands, effective on the first line, always top 6. Drop the gloves occasionally, but that wasn’t really his role, more a product of the era he played in. Not unlike what Cozens seems to be trying.

It may have been more of a favor to us. We needed to hit the cap floor.
-
The only thing actually dollars means is how much tolerance TP has for expenses. The rest is solely in your head.
-
Why in the world would you be upset over what we are actually paying him? Cap hit, I'd get. But actual dollars? Who cares what it costs TP?
-
I don't think this is lesson learned evidence at all. There was no other available path to improvement. Veteran players lose their love of the game upon finding out they are going to Buffalo. Unless you are from here.

Does “understated” = “isn’t going to say *****”? Cuz this is what I expected from him. He wasn’t going to bash anyone. He got what he wanted.
