  1. I don’t think they will played the 3rd going for the tie. I think they were surviving shift to shift. NYR is just a better team. I said this might get ugly right about Thanksgiving. We’re there. The cream is rising to the top now. We are going to see alot of just surviving shift to shift from here until whenever their spirit breaks.
  2. The game is entertaining, but I just don't see Buffalo coming out on top in this one.
  3. Well that was interesting.
  4. I think that is abundantly clear. And was assumed back then as well. We all new the team was F'd when those two left town. If Roy and Vanek were the ones to leave we still have our top 2 lines intact and we role a more traditional 3rd line.
  5. And a few years later we all found out that it was Drury and Briere that were important and not the fleet of kids. By 2010 they were the first failed core.
  6. I said "chase". He wasn't going to get in a bidding war. This is what we perceive your value to be. If someone else perceives more, see ya. We're not matching.
  7. Judging by Linus’ play on a good team, KAs choice to not chase him was based on performance expectations. And probably lack of a passion to be a Sabre. Granted, he’s still a better goalie than what we currently have.
  8. I think a Sabres fan looking down his nose at other Sabres fans is the funny part.
  9. Your browser history must be quite interesting.
  10. Ah, yes. You know we are in the heart of hockey season when PromoTheRobot starts bashing Sabres fans. It's like the swallows returning to Capistrano.
  11. We've already been 10 seasons without playoffs. What's a few more while we wait for a magic bullet? 1. Take a look at the list of #1OAL picks that never won a cup 2. We've had 3 swings at "elite talent" in the last 7 years. 3. You don't build a winning team by losing.
  12. Was that disagreement with what I posted? It didn’t seem to respond to it directly at all.
  13. More accurately you are hoping for 15 yrs of no playoffs, a few mediocre years, and contender some time after. Some people just like losing I guess.
  14. I seem to recall the team announcing it was a soft tissue injury, not a break.
  15. So, who really knows NCAA hockey? What is the team like in front of Levi? What style of game do they play? It sounds too good to be true? Is that a smothering team in front of him that limits chances to low danger events, or is this kid standing college hockey on its head?
  16. Interesting counter observation re: Krebs. It bears watching.
  17. Not quite. Size advantages and disadvantages are most obvious at the extremes. They still apply (both ways) along the rest of the spectrum. All other things being equal, an extra 2” and 20lbs is an advantage. Emphasis on all other things being equal.
  18. This is a valid point. And IMO the answer is no. More firecrackers…. Would Nathan Gerbe have had a more successful career if he were Brad Marchand sized. Size is a factor.
  19. That is an argument noone is challenging, which is why these conversations turn into circle jerks. The “we need to get bigger” crowd isn’t lamenting over not having a Richard Shmelik or Mike Wilson in the lineup. Everyone asking for more size is asking for more of the attributes that size compliments well. Personally, I don’t think size is the issue. I think this team needs to be good enough to play for something before the fight in the dog can really be seen and evaluated. A good chunk of that is talent, although an actual NHL goalie that the team can trust would certainly puff out chests some more. I think a team that was set up to win now would probably more accurately display the fight this team may or may not have.
  20. I don’t see where UPL may have mattered. He’s not a good goalie right now either. He may not be better than Dell.
  21. Unfortunately, as the season grinds down I think we are going to see more of these. Teams are already starting to mind the standings. Teams are going to tighten up. They are going to increase their intensity. It is going to be a tremendous challenge for out guys to not let it affect their play.
  22. Anyone who makes it and sticks for more than a cup o joe had a respectable career.
  23. Audette was what Nathan Gerbe wanted to be when he grew up. Alas, Nathan was destined to remain in Never Never Land.
  24. I think that one has been used already.
