  1. Noone is ready for top minutes when they come up.
  2. Mu sister has it currently. Vaccinated, and it doesn’t seem to be a severe. She was exposed by someone she works with that got sick and wouldn’t get tested until she was forced to. We are a selfish society.
  3. Thats only one way. The other is to have players on the roster better than them to get past, not placeholders.
  4. Sounds lime you have enough imagination to imagine you as a positive person!
  5. I dunno. I don’t have much of an imagination.
  6. See my comments re hockey IQ elsewhere today. We don’t know ***** about Ristos IQ and you can’t measure it to compare to anyone anyway. It’s the same as calling Dahlin dumb, which PA took so much ***** for. Risto is alot of things. Dumber than average on the ice probably isn’t one of them. I’ll disagree that they became what we expected. Certainly not what I expected. I think they all had it in them however.
  7. Maybe in relative height. Tage isn’t stocky and doesn’t play a big mans game like Andy did. Tage is a way better skater.
  8. ***** if I know. And that wasn’t my point anyway.
  9. Andy had plenty of playoff goals in Buffalo. That wasn't it. He was perceived as part of a failed core that couldn't get past the 1st playoff round for 10 seasons, not unlike the failed post-Drury/Briere core.
  10. I think they all would have been better in a winning, mentored environment. I think the frequent unwinnable games that sapped their spirit also held them back. They were never able to experience playing for something and that drive and hunger was set aside and replaced with drudgery. And they never had to challenge players that knew how to rise to the occasion to win their jobs. That in itself is a developmental step. They came in, won a position over a non NHL player, and never were challenged to take the next step because the team never approached that threshold. Another developmental step. Imagine if Jack, Sam, or Risto were plunked onto the Boston Bruins roster at age 20. Or Colorado. Or Vegas. I think they become very different players.
  11. Oh hell, I'm not going to be able to satisfy that request. I don't have a single play from any player, from any game this year that struck me so thoroughly that I've got it stored in memory and can critically discuss it. You guys that do it always surprise me. I keep it in the moment. What I see is a platoon C, not a 2C. A platoon C that will provide offensive pressure.
  12. I agree that Tage is still improving. I don't agree that his stats are more than a result of being forced at a level above where he should be. I am having trouble with putting it to words. Derek Plante..... Had a really nice season with Donald Audette and (was it Randy Burridge, maybe) on his wing, and again when he was forced into a featured role when LaFontaine went down long term. But after getting traded to Dallas, a stacked team, he was a part time NHL player. Not suggesting TT is destined to be a part time NHL player. Am suggesting that mediocre players can be made to look better when forced into elevated roles with linemates they normally wouldn't have. TT has risen to the occassion. But I think we will not be a good team as long as TT is a featured player. We will be a good team when TT is a support player.
  13. Those songs are old enough that you shouldn’t trust someone with sharp instruments if they are familiar with them. #shakeyhands #essentialtremors
  14. Ironically, all of your examples are ones that I have used to justify why you should never plan to win in some future season, that the season you are in is the season you should plan to win. The future of what you have, and what you will have one day, is always unknown.
  15. This one is a pet peeve of mine and I just have to say it. One of the biggest (if not the biggest) criticism that was published in these pages regarding Tage was the dreaded low hockey IQ. I think his play this season has thoroughly debunked that. It’s a totally immeasurable “stat” that we love to label guys with even though we have no evidence to back it up. Its a label that needs to die here. These guys don’t get to this level without game intelligence.
  16. Masks are not punishment any more than helmets on motorcycles are, or seatbelts, or restaurant employees washing their hands, or zoning ordinances. Its a low effort, easy to do preventative that protects people like your little sister. Our stupidity regarding recoiling from what we are told to do harms the most vulnerable. Defiance of an easy to follow rule that protects the most vulnerable receives insult because the reasons for that defiance are generally petty and hyperbolic. Yes, that is generic and not specific to any one individual because the reasons most commonly given for defiance are generic references to freedom and liberty. Hint, libertarian ideals are based on the assumption that your actions will not harm another. With mask mandates you cannot say there is no harm associated with defiance.
  17. It wasn’t my comparison, but I think it may prove a good one. Creighton wasn’t really a 2C, but when the situation called for it, he could fill that role in a pinch. Right now I see TT as being slotted at least 1 line higher than he should be, and he is seeing an increase in points because of it. But you wouldn’t want to plan your roster around slotting him where he is currently. You want him in a middle 6 role, preferably line 3. Creighton was about the same, really.
  18. Lol at Der Fuhrer. He is literally NOT preventing anyone from doing anything as long as they do the equivalent of wearing a shirt and shoes. You guys are ***** crybabies in the middle of the single worst health crisis in 100 years+.
  19. I sure hope there isn’t. Human nature wasn’t unique to the guys we moved after they lost their love for the game.
  20. They care about developing their precious youth though. We’ve already seen what a no hope environment does to developing young stars.
  21. I’m repeating myself in multiple threads now, but I believe it is inevitable that the goaltending situation breaks this teams spirit, and when that happens the development of this roster will suffer. I think it is absolutely critical to the development of this roster that a capable goaltender is acquired.
  22. I am genuinely concerned that the goalie situation is going to break this teams spirit sooner rather than later and destroy whatever development this season may bring.
  23. I thought he looked decent last night. A little razzle dazzle in the O zone, but most importantly no bone headed gaffes in his defensive game last night. *based on about 35 minutes of actual watching spread throughout the game.
  24. I think the Adam Creighton comparable is looking rather accurate.
