  1. I'm enjoying the fact that Power is under-hyped. It is refreshing to not be overwhelmed with bombast about the next "generational player" that we've drafted. It will be refreshing to not hear over and over again about how much we don't understand his game and that he's trending elite when he's contributing to losing. And if he were 5'11" the hype train would have been rolling for months now. I think that covers all the prospect memes in one post. Feel free to add if I've missed any.
  2. In over a decade. Thats a very good team pace. This team is not a very good team with even average goaltending.
  3. 2 vets for sure. Maybe a 3rd in case of injuries.
  4. I prefer to just ask them what they had for dinner.
  5. My concern is if the team doesn’t get his D game dialed in soon, he becomes a Housley type player that can’t be trusted on the ice in close games. I suppose if Mule and Power meet expectations it won’t matter, but 1OAL is a hell of a price to pay for a 1 dimensional player.
  6. Again, noone is underwhelmed with Dahlin’s offensive game. This does nothing to answer the concerns regarding his defensive game. For me? No. For all of his blunders, overall he’s still the best D man on the team right now.
  7. He’ll be bridged and traded for sure.
  8. Dahlin may be ahead of those players in offensive statistics, but where is he relative to them in defensive play? This is where the dissatisfaction lies.
  9. He needs a James Patrick or Teppo Numminen.
  10. I take issue with the conclusion here. I agree with the notion that he is young and has no mentor. I think this ultimately affects your predicted outcome in a negative way. I believe Rasmus has the tools to be finer than fine. But he is in a poor situation to create the tool box and it is most definitely affecting his development. Not unlike Rasmus the Prior, frankly.
  11. KA was obviously being groomed for a bigger role. He had time and experience in an NHL front office prior to taking the reigns. What has Briere done to cement the notion that he is a bright young mind, ready for an NHL GM position?
  12. If the Sabres hired an ECHL GM we’d all skewer that decision, and rightfully so. No way is Briere ready for that big of a jump, under that big of a spotlight.
  13. At some point it is going to be the same for the guys on the ice.
  14. I like us at home against Seattle. Should be able to control the matchups.
  15. I had the same thought.
  16. They are Josh Gorges and Brian Gionta v2. Okposo has had a successful enough career to be a role model to the skill guys. He can relate to them. And Girgs, he's just a consummate pro, the Gorges role. They are the only likeable personalities IMO in the last decade. I'm glad they survived through this. It's a good thing this time we don't have a couple of pre-ordained saviours to ignore the guys who have been there before.
  17. You know, i like seeing them as much as the next guy, but keep that ***** out of these threads. Last thing I need is to check SS at work and have someone see that on my screen as they are walking by.
  18. That would be hopeful news. The sample size is damned small right now. I’m sure we’ll have a better idea right about the time my booster shot takes full effect.
  19. We call it Shraderenfreude around these parts, folks.
  20. I am waiting for the thread name change that Dudacek has fallen over the precipice.
  21. Yeah, but it's against weak competition, really. He's making hay against lower lines and scrubs.
