Its the wrong thread for this topic, but interest by a PEI is not revenues when they are such a small portion of the value of the team. And those decisions were still not revenue decisions, they were on the other side of the ledger.

I'm not suggesting day-to-day operation of the franchise. I'm talking about influencing business decisions. 100's of millions of dollars are rarely given up without some level of influence on the outcome. Granted, a major professional sports team may be the one singular exception based on historical team values, but I wouldn't expect an organization who's business plan is based solely on return on investment to take a passive stance.

How would we ever know that he failed to bring in a good veteran goalie? For all we know he’s tried multiple times. Ive said before, the biggest detriment to bringing in good veteran players is the GM stated requirement that he’s only considering players that want to be here. Players just don’t want to be here, with outliers obviously (OK Tuch, one outlier).

That would most certainly be a negotiating point in any purchase. Minority ownership =/= no influence unless it is negotiated that way. *no idea if there is already a league rule regarding this.

Minimum wage contracts, laying off scouts when they can't scout, and movement of long term commitments are costs decisions, not revenue decisions.

A private equity firm would almost certainly demand some level of control as a condition of sale.

Yup. Reduce expenses. Reduce long term financial commitments. Reduce outward cash flow. Make the balance sheet look as appealing as possible. Selling a minority stake seems likely.
