I think those types showing up at the game has more to do with the push to revitalize Buffalo, which I do support as a West Side resident. The problem is a lot of people think they can turn this place into the Village in NY, hence the attitude they bring around. They forget that this was a blue collar, working class city. Buffalo never claimed to be the class act of NYS. I understand we do have a budding art scene and some respected education institutions but you don't see that type of person showing up at Knick games and Ranger games in NYC. So why think you can turn a Sabres game into some sort of social event. It's not suppose to be.

I pray you never go to a Bandits game. I think I realized the shift in the fan base when I was screaming and yelling during a game and started getting dirty looks from the lower bowl and I was up in the 300's. I nearly lost a girlfriend over my overly raucous behavior. That and she was pushing my buttons after the Bandits lost the championship game. The real fans sit up top. There are still pockets of real fans up there. The problem is they can't even cheer because you got the whiners up there ready to run to an usher for no reason. I mean, I really think half the problem is this PC Amerika/Family Values/Moral Majority push. As Helen Lovejoy says, "Won't someone think of the children!" Well, you think about your children and how you brought them to a sporting where alcohol is served, the athletes constantly hit each other, and may get into a fight. And there is another thing, the arena staff caters to those type of fans because I'm sure the last thing they want is a lawsuit over some people yelling and how it scarred their children for life. I've seen arena staff remove people for being a little rowdy but all in team spirit. And I've seen overzealous dad's sicked on 20-somethings by helicopter mom's and then watch the 20-something get tossed. Then, take away any sign that is anti-management or expresses any negative sentiment. There is a lot at play here but it still leaves the fact that the arena is dying.

Bologna is the most anger inducing of all lunch meats. I mean, you're eating bologna. Wouldn't you be pissed you've been reduced to eating big noses and horse hooves.

That building is quiet as hell for most of the game. I went to 2 games back to back in Oct last season and I was disgusted at how quiet it was. I was there for Myers first goal and the building exploded and then quieted after 5 mins. The next night, Max returned to HSBC. It was quiet til he touched the puck and I decided to boo him. Then, there was some noise. Then, he scored and people cheered. The only time I've been to a game where it was loud the whole game was in the 06 playoffs. I mean, I've gone to a Sabres game and the next night gone to a Bandits game with half the crowd and the difference in noise level is insane. Granted, Bandits is a difference atmosphere with the PA announcer basically trying to insight a riot and the organized cheers and the fact that the core fans are extremely loyal. But it is still the same building with almost half the crowd. And it's been the same way since the lockout. It's the fact that the Sabres have gone more to the casual fan and the rabid crowds we remember are gone.

Tiger's wife? She's hott.

Don't you mean "Nolway?"
-
I was waiting for it. I knew the Sabres were going to crap the bed in the final minutes. And the hawks continue to take liberties with our "stars."

Goal?

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. There is still 55 minutes or so left.

My god. Lindy must have beat those guys with a lead pipe this morning.

Holy ######. Do I smell an effort?

I think I'm going to start rounding up the babies and puppies for the kicking.
-
Well, now if we lose, I'll be angry for 2 reasons.
-
Forget it. I'm doing the responsible thing and going to McGarrett's and getting drunk for this game.

I think this needs to be said. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3TbZAua6JJ4 What happened to this Lindy?

Kaleta's physical game has fallen off. I will admit that he doesn't turtle but he also isn't hitting as much. This neck injury has ended him. Plus, he doesn't really even have to fight with McCormick out there. On McCormick, he's exactly what I want out of a forth line energy guy. Real toughness. I'd rather have 1 McCormick than 3 Kaletas. He is the epitome of what I remember this team of being physically capable of in the 90's. Pat Kaleta is not even on the same level as Chris Neil. The comparison isn't even valid. Chris Neil has some offensive upside, is far more physical, tougher, and more imposing. Chris Neil is everything I wish Pat Kaleta was. Neil is like a marauding tank. Kaleta is like a humvee with a flat tire. It also doesn't hurt that Ottawa has very good overall team toughness. It isn't just Neil that hits. It's Kelly, Foligno, Volchenkov, Ruutu, etc. That may be the biggest difference of them all.

That's more about team toughness than that of one player, creating a mindset within your organization that the guy in the other jersey is your enemy and you must hit him at any opportunity. That kind of physicality can severely disrupt the team you are playing against. I seriously doubt that Pat Kaleta scares anyone with his 7 minutes of running after people and taking himself out of the play. If anything, you can game plan around him very easily. Ignore him and, when he looks to take a run at you in the corner, keep your head up and look for a good pass. Look at that. I have neutralized Kaleta's ability to draw penalties and disrupt my game plan.

Kaleta doesn't have balls. I compare him to the insurgency in Iraq. He jumps out and gets a couple of your guys and then runs off. But when engaged in real combat, he stands no chance.
-
The biggest reason why I wish he would just go away.
-
I haven't seen him do much of anything since this whole neck injury.
-
I'm seriously debating just going to bed early. Don't expect anything but the status quo. That's what this organization is good at.

That's like trying to quit drinking and going to you fav bar because you love the wings and bitching about the temptation.

Also, the NYS DMV and their wasting of my time.
