lol the national anthem singer is sooooo bad in Calgary. Anyone, ANYONE can sing the anthem if they sing like him. So bad.

We have a lot of solid pieces but I do believe we need better coaching all ‘round. I take the Canucks as an example. Tocchet took a team playing loosey goosey and brought in a coaching staff that were top level when they played. And they’re all in the same page. And the team has structure. I’m sure everyone likes DG but he’s too nice. They need discipline and structure and assistant coaches with clout. In Vancouver QH has Gonchar making suggestions or tweaks, and QH can respect that. In Buffalo we have Matt Ellis running the PP, a journeyman plug. Nobody is respecting his takes, nobody. Once coaching staff is sorted then it’s time to decide on making another hockey trade like CM for Byram. I’m not on board moving Power as defense is too easily given up on. We have 3 top defense now and we need to build around them. Moving some top prospects should start happening and possibly moving in from a TT for another more well-rounded forward should be considered. I believe someone like Krebs needs a top level coach to bring out his best. Many do. Will we make it next year? How can anyone know? But it’s easy to say no.

The kid has been so good. So bad to have that happen to him.

Tough loss. My seats were 10 rows up in Canucks end. Tage almost had it and the puck was just not able to be tapped in. Dahlin goal was beauty and his slapper just about tied it at 2. Really poor decision to try wrap around by 12. Schedule makers didn’t help. Sabre didn’t quit. Canucks need to finish teams off or they are done round one. Levi was excellent. Was cool to see a 100%!different team than last time I saw them in 2012. Only Tyler Myers was a skater back then.

Drove 5 hours to be at the game tonight. Great seats my son got me for Christmas. Canucks defensive zone face off dot, row 10 lower bowl. In the history of the cousins only a couple of wins separates the two teams head to head. I expect Van to come out flying but their issue has been holding leads so if we can minimize the damage we have a shot. Hope for a good game and an OT Sabres win!

Two preventable goals against. Very poor goals to give up.

Only negative is we seemed to give up a lot more in our own end, than normal. Plus, more offense than normal.

I know this may not be what everyone else wants to hear but Girgensons is a serviceable player but has more offensive game than he gets to show when on 4th line. He hasn’t looked out of place with Tuch and Tage at all. He can sign again for a year if he is interested, imo. But let him play with more skill. He can play.

I think people here are far too hard on Krebs and Power. Krebs needs some stability on a line with some more offensive players. Power just needs to get older. Defense takes a lot of time to get. He’s very young.

We are already getting “managing reffing” so no doubt they’d be sh even more should they respond.

Clifton needs to put that guy on his butt and he doesn’t get that second shot. Fishing.

A player slashes a guy in the helmet and gets a $5000 fine but a coach gets $50k? Ahhh the nhl.

How? He clearly wasn’t fit enough to make a difference. Tocchet coached him and knows whether or not he’d be good enough. He wasn’t. Nothing dirty about it.

The standings are like an illusion. I just checked and we are “only” 7 behind Detroit and play them 3 times. But we have to win all 3 outright and hope all other games go their way. It’s not over but, it’s over.

Put Peyton with qiality on a regular basis and he will reward. Byram is going to be a much more valuable piece than Casey was.

Have to give Sabres credit again. Clearly overmatched but found a way to stay in it, and had it not been for posts and missed open nets, they’d have thumped the Oilers. Think the team does like their coach but I believe they need a harder nosed coach. Guys who had their career years last year and have tailed off this year will bounce back next. Jack Quinn is sorely missed. They didn’t roll over to their credit.
