New President of Hockey Operations, Presser @10:30 a.m.

Wow!!!!!!!! I am thrilled with this move. Pat Lafontaine, what a class individual, and what a great choice. Ted Nolan. The guy was a winner here once, hopefully he can be again. I am shocked at his hiring, but the guy deserves another shot. Finally this team is going to get on the right track. Wow!!! -
Ok guys, I just ran across this while having my morning coffee. I missed the first half of this game cuz of work and the fact the CBC makes West Coast teams play early so the beloved Leafs fans don't have to wait up to watch them play on a Saturday night. With all the suspensions being handed out, the blogger here shows a perfect example of why the NHL misses the boat on getting dirty hits out of the game. Lupul clearly goes head hunting on this clip and ends up putting his own guy out of the contest. But why isn't he being suspended? Watch the clip and tell me that this wasn't a clear attempt to target the head. Just because he misses shouldn't mean he doesn't get a suspension. This is nothing but a dirty play and this should have Lupul called to the carpet. Thoughts? http://blogs.theprovince.com/2013/11/03/the-attempted-assassination-of-henrik-sedin/

The only place Stafford will get traded is to Edmonton, because of his family connections in Edmonton. The problem is, nobody is going to pay his salary. I'm afraid he needs to be waived. That's business. He's taking up a spot from a kid who will bust his butt trying to make it in the bigs. Stafford just doesn't seem to have the mental drive to play this game any longer.

Interesting. Chara blatant hit to the head, late, no penalty and wait for it. No supplementary discipline for his hit on wingels. Shocker!

Job Performance Poll: Head Coach Ron Rolston
rickshaw replied to IKnowPhysics's topic in The Aud Club
The Sabres are in rebuild mode, we all agree. But there is no way this guy should be coaching these kids, yet alone any NHL team. This team needs a proven coach, one who can teach, one who can flex his muscles by past coaching reputation, one who gets them to play the right way and hopefully have them learn how to win in time. Ruff needed to go, it was clear, but RR has no business being in this league. Darcy must go first, then the coach with him. The new GM needs to mould this team the right way, with his own coaching staff and go from there. The future of this team should not be with DR. Yes, he's picked up some great kids along the way, but it's time for someone new to steer this team in the right direction. And it's time for a real NHL coach, not RR. Sending out John Scott, down 2, with 15 minutes to go in a game, tells me he's more interested in frontier justice than he is trying to get another goal and try to tie the game. Bush league. The Sabres are the laughing stock of the league. Terry Pegula??? Do something. -
Kronwall had tones of ice to skate to behind the net but decides to turn at the last second? Not sure what McLeod could do there.

The wait is cuz it's thanksgiving weekend bun.

Kaleta has heart bla bla bla. So what? He gets suspended every year. EVERY year. He's not to be relied on. Get rid of him. He's talked about in every hockey circle and it's not about his heart. He must go. He's getting 12 games
-
Well folks, this is why he needs to go. He can't figure it out
-
Hey all, hope your summer has been great. First post in awhile, so I thought I'd start a new thread. I see that Pat Kaleta has already jumped a so-called soft player for delivering a clean check, and then turtled when asked to go with someone who can handle himself. My question is, do we really need him on this team? He's got a terrible reputation and the refs are not shy in hitting him up for penalties at any given moment. Personally, I think it's time for him to go. I know he's a Buffalo kid, but I believe he does more harm than good for this team. Let someone else play who has a physical edge and a more honourable game. Thoughts?

Happy to have had my first AC/DC BEER the other night. Brewed in France, available in 500 ml cans. Not too bad!
-
Why did we trade him again?
-
Hey he's got 2 goals in his last 30 odd games, don't be so harsh????

Unreal that the Leafs had the bruins beat and now the B's are 5 wins from another Cup. Their key to success? Take liberties, realize only so many calls will be made and kill the penalties that are called. It's amazing. The Canucks couldn't score on the pp and neither can the Pens. And then the refs just get fed up with calling fouls.

Any word on Andrew shaw hearing from the NHL? First the slew foot at the bench early in game 7 (which is iffy IMO) But just before the winning goal, he clearly tries to kick a Wing while the scrum in the crease was going on. He didn't connect but it's totally on purpose. There is no place for that in the game.
-
Damn Chicago wins. But check the scrum before the goal. Shaw clearly tries to kick the Detroit player. He should be suspended for that. I hate the hawks

Just came to me so I thought what the hell. Anyone here on AD's and if so, what type? Have you had success with them and if you aren't taking them any longer, was it hard to get off them? Kinda personal I know but I'm bored.

I can never pull fo SJ, ever. Can't stand that team. Sadly not many teams left I want to win besides the underdogs.

It is unlikely they could bump them down and move kes up to the top line with 2 offensive guys for sure. But moving elder to the flyers for some top forward help could be a start. The flyers have lots of up front players and little in the back. Moving one of the goalies will help as well. It isn't impossible but if they can pull it off and have a Sedin 2nd line. Then they'd be very dangerous. First step. Decide who is gm and go from there. IMO gillis should be gone. AV TOO

When I read the predictable girls or sisters comments it makes me realize how little some know about the game. The twins take a lot of abuse and don't complain. They are tough and honest players. Respect should be given. Two of the finest people in the game. The team should try and get a better top line movin them down but it will be hard.
-
That call and the one with 5 mins left were absolutely disgusting decisions. Sedin shoulders a guy and the ref at center makes that call? The NHL officiating is abysmal. The Sharks had 22 more mins of actual pp time more than Van. In watching the games, I cannot tell you how that came about. Changes coming in Vancouver. But the NHL product is becoming worse by the day and with the level of officiating going downhill by the second, it's making the games harder to watch for me.

Schneider had an undisclosed injury. Luongo was very good in game 1 keeping it close in a first period where it could've been 4 zip SJ. In game 2 he was outstanding. He shouldn't have lost the net IMO because he wasnt the issue and CS had been off 2 weeks. In the 3rd last night CS let in 3 very quick and very bad goals.
