Guys. Sam wanted out. He doesn’t like it in Buffalo. He would’ve rather had razor blades scratched across his eyes than stay. Let it go! This team will suck again, BUT, the corner will start to be turned. They are putting together a young, fast, group of players who will WANT to play for each other. The culture is changing and only one more piece to go to wipe out that horrible stretch.

Sam wants to be close to home. He is UFA in a year. Why sign long term in Florida if it’s farther away from where you want to be? Mark my words. Sam will have a mediocre year in Florida. He’s not as good as many think he is. He’s not a winner. He’s a me first guy. His stats were good cuz he got lots of ice and played with not care in the world. Pad the personal stats on a losing team. I could care less that he’s gone. Paying him $6 or $7 would be a waste. He’s gone.

I liked this line from the part two story in the Buffalo news….. ”Getting away from anyone in this organization or on this team that's more concerned about themselves.”
-
Perfect. We can agree to disagree. This type of trade is always gonna be polarizing. I’m personally fed up with him and Sam. Let’s get good quality people in there. It’s time to change the culture. Clearly.

Sorry you don’t like my opinion but I have it on good authority he’s a ***** and a cancer in the room. I won’t reveal my source but he’s not worth the headache or trouble. And now I see talk of him being a boozer, that adds to the worry.

Jack can go pound sand. He’s a F’ing baby. He’s proven he’s a loser. He’s lead this team nowhere. He’s got a bad attitude. He can’t lead worth shite. He can rot for all I care. It is time this team showed some backbone and changes the culture. Jack is rotten to the core and let’s be fair, he’s good, but he’s not great. He really isn’t. There are so many guys on Vegas I’d rather have than him. I seriously am fed up with his crap. F you Jack. You’re not Connor, heck you’re not Mathews. Make him rehab and prove his worth. If he doesn’t want that and he gets surgery against teams advice, and it goes poorly , void contract. But don’t trade him to his desired location. Not a f’ing chance. Not this team big boy. ROR f’d is, you’re not.

I think vaccines are awesome. I roll up my sleeve yearly for the flu vaccine and I did for Covid for sure. As for masks, nobody really enjoys them but to me it’s no big deal. You see I work in the public and people are disgusting. So I like that they’re being worn. Where I live, Kelowna BC, masks are still mandated but it will end one day. Until then, I wear mine and do it knowing they probably don’t offer much protection but they offer some. And if it can keep them vulnerable people I’m happy to do it. But here’s some food for thought. The flu vaccine is based on what happens in Australia as they get it first. This year, the flu in Canada had a reported total of 66 people getting it. 66! Normally it’s 30000-40000 annually. Australia handled Covid extremely well and masks were worn too. Is it a coincidence that the flu was so low? No. People were distanced, masks were worn and people finally stopped being soooo disgusting and started cleaning their hands. Shopping carts cleaned regularly etc. These all play a part. To me, these factors show that all theses measures help stop the spread. And going forward. I’m totally gonna mask up when I’m inside a shopping mall or store when the winter comes along. I didn’t get sick at all in over a year. I think the measures taken surely helped with that. Asians have been doing it forever. I believe it’s just common courtesy to mask up of YOU are out and not feeling well. I can’t tell you how many sick people would come into my work and say, “I’m so sick” yet buying some beer was so important to put me in danger of catching your illness. I can’t wait until this is all over but I do hope people will consider their habits going forward when feeling unwell. A bit of a ramble I know. But I just really want people to think of others. Here’s a good point to make the radicals think

Again, I’ve spoken to players about guys on the Sabres and the impression I was given is that he’s not that great a teammate. As for him staying, he’d only do it if he had to. And he’s only gonna sign for one year and then bolt in free agency. He’d have to play well for sure to keep his stock high, but he wouldn’t last past trade deadline. I was really happy with his game this year but it’s easy to pad stats when you get the most ice or a lot of ice and games mean nothing. I say cash him and is 25 goals in while his stock his at an all time high.

I disagree. There is no way you want him anywhere near your division and conference IMO. He would most definitely be getting everything he wants if that’s the case. Nope, you find a way to get him out west and if he wants to be a Bruin so bad, he can do so in FA.

Great post! If Jack is moved the team need to make sure they do it this year and do it right. Will we get a Jack back, no, but hopefully we will get pieces that can come along with the quality kids we have (see Dylan Cozens) And another poster said he’s a Bruin fan. I have no doubt he is. But if Jack thinks he will be anywhere near our division, let alone conference, I’d be surprised. Again, I live in a city where lots of players spend their summers. I speak to many with my job (liquor store) and I’ve asked about Jack and Sam as guys. Let me put it this way, NOBODY came out and said “quality guys” I basically said what I thought from my perch (would never ask them to talk about a guy behind his back) but my inferences did warrant looks or responses that would lead me to believe I was correct in my thoughts on the players in question. So to me Jack made himself look like an a$$. And going forward I don’t think the quality young guys need to be “lead” by someone like Jack and or Sam. I know the team is an embarrassment but on this matter I am all management. Going way ahead . If they can’t move him this summer (say nobody wants an injured player) and then he gets his choice of teams he goes to, he clearly holds the cards. But that doesn’t mean they have to trade him. He can demand one, but they don’t have to. He can then hold out, and they can let him rot. The team was clearly better without him playing this year. All I’m saying is this could be a scenario and it would be very interesting.

I think KA will be very happy to unload 23 and 55 for sure. 23 was 10th in nhl in goals, perfect time to move him. 55 is overrated and always has been. 9? Not sure he wants to move him but it’s likely he moves all three. And if I’m a betting man and you asked him who the top 3 cancers are in the room, 9,23 and 55 are probably his answer. Nobody can tell me 23 is someone who looks or seems to act like a leader. This team has to look to the new leaders and one day Cozens will captain this team and lead properly. Gonna be interesting summer. And side note. Jack wants out and is using the medical side as his crutch. Surgery sucks so getting mad at a team for not wanting to do a surgery that’s never been done on a NHL player is absolutely ridiculous and makes no sense.

Had they not gone on a ***** last 5-7 games before lockdown they were in the 24 team playoff. They lost out by mere percentage points to Montreal. Reinhart went scoreless I believe in those last games. Jack et all weren’t much better. Sure they had no idea they’d miss out cuz of lockdown but that shows that you need to get out there and perform cuz you never know. And Jack personally has had lots of talent around him at least for line mates. Hell, McDavid had Kassian as a line mate on a regular basis.
-
I think he’s gone and yesterday was him saying “this injury debate is my way out “ without saying he’s sick of losing and gives up. It’s today’s athlete. There are very few that have the will to stick it out through the bad. They know they have the power and it’s easier to cry and move on. (ROR)

Hey Taylor, you sucked and you should be ashamed of your play in Buffalo. So up yours as well.
-
Unhappy with the medical staff? To my notion, they didn’t force him to play with his neck injury. So if he’s filing a grievance he has to have proof they did. To me, it looks like they disagree on treatment but he hasn’t been forced to play so there is no negligence on the medical side. And forgive me, but teams are usually the ones forcing or urging surgery so they can get their player back faster. So this is a very strange situation. The more I look into this the more I say Up Yours Jack. He was given the keys to the club and $10 million per and he’s being a little bitch. He’s not Connor and he knows it and I think that does bother him that he wasn’t the teams first choice. Speaking of Connor, don’t kid yourself but had the Oilers not done well this year, he’d be bitching and whining too.
-
Realistically they should move Jack, Sam and Risto but part of me feels like these guys should want to fix this and they shouldn’t move them. I’m all over the place. But we can’t be much worse by moving them. They’ve clearly not been good enough as a core to push them to the playoffs. And they can say what they want but they were paid big $ and didn’t get it done and nobody can sugarcoat that, especially them.

I like the comment about us being last with our core now. That’s 100% correct. And I’ll say this. I’m sure it sucks losing g but km sure it doesn’t suck cashing in $9 million a season. So while this team may have made many many mistakes, Jack was supposed to be enough to make this team a contender. And he had some good pieces with him so let’s not say he didn’t. Simply put, he’s not even close to being as good as McDavid and Samson is nowhere near as good as Draisital. If they don’t want to play here anymore, too bad. Especially Jack. I go back and forth on both of them. Sam can and will leave after one more year but Jack is on the books for a long time. And this team has paid him a ton, so maybe he needs to earn his money wh cuz he didn’t this year that is for certain. And if he demands out after his clause changes to his teams only, screw him and let him stay or sit. I’m frustrated with the terrible ownership and front offfice but it really irks me when a kid whines about playing a game where he makes $9 million. Jack and Sam have a lot to do with this team not being good enough whether they like it or not. A real pro stays (Jack got the long term deal! and is the difference and is there for the turn around.

Brock? Don’t see it happening.
-
He was born in Vancouver and it’s a hockey town so he’s gonna want to play there, I’d bet the farm on it. Peoblem is, Canucks have no pipeline so who comes back?
-
Sam played well this year especially late but it serves him well to do so. I can’t imagine he wants to stay one little bit. Vancouver I’m sure he’d love to play for.
-
Dylan Cozens is captain material. Does his duty, doesn’t take an instigator. DC IS OFFICIALLY my fave Sabre Has Jack had a fight?
-
I just looked at the standings. Apparently we aren’t gonna finish last after all. Not sure how I feel about this. I’m glad they’re playing better but having beat odds at #1 I’d really like at this point.
