Schenn wasn’t going anywhere but A) Toronto, B) Edmonton, C) Calgary or D) Ottawa. The Canucks respect Luke too much to do anything else. He wasn’t going to a team who wasn’t pretty much 💯 guaranteed to make the playoffs and A Canadian team. Schenn will re-sign with Vancouver in the summer. Sorry he was never going to Buffalo.

I don’t disagree with you. I think a lot of this goes to “do you want to be in Buffalo” and it’s difficult to know at this time of year. I think they should try and make some proactive moves if they’re there but I do think these young guys are still learning and maybe losing a buddy will have negative affects. I think the off season is the time to move guys. Anyway whatever. It sucks to not get in but it’s probably not happening either way this year.

Schenn was asked. He wanted to be back in BC to finish his career. He wasn’t going to the States again especially with his wife due a baby any day now. Canucks weren’t gonna move him anywhere else out of respect.

Detroit is “right there” and are selling. We are a point ahead and aren’t selling. We may be close but I still don’t see is getting in this year no matter what. Upsetting the chemistry may have more damage than good. Making trade’s doesn’t guarantee squat. Ranting and raving is only bad for your blood pressure. It is what it is.

I can gaurantee you Buffalo was not in Schenn’s go to list. I’d have loved him but he was never saying yes to Buffalo.

I’m ok with not panicking and making bad deals only to miss the playoffs still or get bounced in 4 or 5 IF they make it. Trades don’t guarantee a team makes it on unless they’re already firmly in (Boston) People need to chill a bit. KA has locked up huge core pieces and Dahlin is next. We have cap room yes but it’s not as much as it would seem when you start locking up Dahlin and Power etc. It’ll be interesting to see what happens but I’m in no panic. Waited this long. I can wait another year.

I don’t think we get JC from Arizona for the same price as Ottawa. They would’ve been asking for much more from us imo. Tom Wilson? We interested? Apparently Buffalo is not on his NTC list.

I don’t know what to think re:trades. Stillman deal we probably overpaid. We can’t have that happening too often. Our defense after top 3 is horrendous. We have a chance to get in this year but can’t mortgage the future. It’s too bad VO is in his “I don’t like scoring phase” as we head into the deadline. I believe he would be a good moveable piece for a team that needs scoring but alas, he has chosen not to do that currently. But it’s clear, we need to shore up our defense whether it’s now or in the summer. Still unsure about the net but if we have a real defense maybe that problem is sorted out?

An 8 game losing streak, and losses to the CBJ of the nhl will be the reason we miss the dance. Im all for not mortgaging now but it would’ve been swell to add two actual defenders and not have Tuch get injured.

How is it Buffalo doesn’t get calls from refs? I find it difficult to believe teams play absolutely perfect and don’t take penalties.

Not saying they’re looking past it, but playing a Team who they embarrassed and possibly missing two key players. It’s a trap game. Oh, and it’s a home game 😉

I just heard that Tampa doesn’t have a pick until round 6 this summer. KA doesn’t need to swing for the fences yet. Let other teams make mistakes. We are in the mix this year but let’s be honest, it’s a year earlier than expected.

The Canucks are a disaster in their own end, even worse than the Sabres. They also have zero prospects so of course they’re happy. Bloom was never gonna make it in the Sabres. We are too good now.

I too got two texts from Canucks fans thanking me. Again, I doubt he’s going to be a ft player. Maybe some insurance? Either way, it isn’t going to drastically change our team.

This trade isn’t really much of anything. But he’s a warm body on the back end. Bloom was he ever gonna play? Stillman probs won’t either. It’s certainly nothing to be upset about.

He’s been decent in Vancouver. Far less of a liability than Tyler Myers has been. Good depth trade. Probably better than Bryson.
