Thank you ink. I'm sorry for the long winded non space bar explanation I gave, although I did say I JUST got back from the game so I expect some leeway as a result but I want to thank you for noticing that there was no apology given for rooting for my team. Not sure if there is some misinterpretation between what I am writing and what is being understood. So to be clear, screw Montreal. Thank you good night. -

Just got home haven't read anything on the board but just want to say, I appreciate the effort they gave tonight. Got some value for the money for a change. I also appreciate that it was Montreal in the building. Lots of energy for both sides, players and fans. Their talent level was very noticeable. I think Cody Mac probably lead the team in ice time which was depressing but he was game. Gionta showed up. Expectedly. Georges was good but I have to say I was truly impressed with Neuivirth. He made some Miller saves. For me personally he emerged as the # 1 because of his technique. He was and made some positionally (sp) sound saves that we grew accustomed to Miller making. Yes I said that! He was every bit the goalie tonight that we expected out of Miller. I feel bad for Enroth but I gotta say that Neuiverth or however you spell his name has EARNED the next start and Enroth can be pissed about it but he will start Saturday. UNLESS of course the guy whose name I don't think I am spelling right who has again earned the next start, wins and then what? I give it to him again because it is suddenly his team and all the ###### Nolan has said that someone will; emerge as the starter will have actually come to pass. Enroth will be very pissed again. And again, I will feel bad for him. But I don't see him here long term and I don't think as per GMTM standards he fits the mold anyway. But there's the rub. Michael Neuvirth doesn't either. He's not big. He sure as hell played big tonight in front of my eyes though! Sorry tankers, we gained a point. Much more importantly though, I was entertained and felt my money was well spent. Kudo's to the team and staff. And maybe cause it was a weeknight game I had only one minor incident with Les Habitent fans and proudly say, I NEVER HEARD O'LAY ONCE THE ENTIRE NIGHT! Last shout out to the doubters, Nikita Zadorov says suck it. -
He was a genuine funny man. Sad.

Until next years draft right?
-
Nice lol. Didn't know they had that! :-) And I meant to say drink like I do. Oops . Well you know.
-
Right. Seems like seven and likely will be the total when we return to the playoffs. And you're 7 year old doesn't drink I do either so there's that also.
-
Just got home from the game see this and remember how I spoke up for the guy about being a vet and will be good etc. Then dumping all over him because of how bad he was and then loving his game in the playoffs. He was fantastic in the playoffs. Sigh. Remember the playoffs? LOL

I'll be there. I don't want to be but I'll be there.
-
Politely sir, f off. I pay for my tickets. He is not worthy of $89 a seat. I'm sure you know what I mean so I won't even pre apologize! I'll take Matt Dagostini back before I see Matt Ellis.
-
I respect and appreciate and even agree with your post. But the Patty Kaleta I saw in the pre season game for the first time coming back from injury tells me clearly, He is who he is. He will be injured or suspended within ten games on his return. I would love for him to fulfill his role on this team, in this league forever. I think he will show he is just not capable of all of that. I love him but can't see him surviving without rule changes or self changes. And I see neither happening.
-
You also own an iPhone don't you? LOL ;-)
-
C'mon. Where the hell are the spelling police here? Their in place of there? Really? That was not a fat finger drunken stupor typo. That was just stupid? Don't we have people that can correct that type of activity? I know there is someone who objects. Stand up. I know they are :-) here! And this is tragic on it's own. I'm asking about the spelling police. Obviously I'm referring to the grammar police. But then, you already knew that didn't you?
-
I don't think so. Injuries and suspensions will get him. He will make the rink louder though crashing into the boards.
-
See you again Sam. Get working.

Heard a rumor today that Toronto is all in for Babcock next year. Whoever was spinning it was saying they clearly see him re joining with Shanahan. Personally I cant get used to former player Shanahan becoming Shanaban becoming the guy in T.O. but I see the connection. I also think it might get GMTM or EL PEGUAL'S attention as well.
-
Sad. Very advanced age and hope he can recover but he is in tough at this point.
-
It's the only logical way.
-
If this is how bad it's going to be I want Reggie Dunlop on my team and Gionta ain't it.

OT: Is the world series, and baseball, done as a major sport?
beerme1 replied to mjd1001's topic in The Aud Club
I echo all the Jays comments but I grew up there a long time ago. Turned 48 this year and was actually thinking during these playoffs how much fun some of those Blue Jays teams were. Thinking back to what Jack Morris did for the team. I don't think I've ever seen a better center fielder than Devon White outside of Rickey Henderson in person. Saw George Bell on opening day hit three home runs. I go back to day 1 with them and watched every game all the time, like I do with the Sabres. But getting older meant losing patience with the slow pace of the game. Having a WS cancelled meant I quit baseball. Over the last few years IO have watched some playoff games and some WS. I gotta say though this year has been fun to watch the Royals and their brand of baseball. It will never be like it used to be though. But I hardly think it will be doomed to being a niche sport. To the op as you note the something of soccer had double the viewers. Ok, but did you also hear the fact that baseball draws more people than hockey, basketball and football combined? I get that it may seem like a niche sport but look behind the curtain and these guys are still making out. Can't say I know how though when all I see is a lot of empty seats everywhere. But I have certainly come back to the sport for some playoff and world series games. And likely will again. But as to that 162 regular game season? Holy crap no. -
Smallest game day thread ever? Why am I watching this? Buying tickets even??? If we don't get one of the McEichel I am going to haunt every tanker here.
