  1. I look into this fun house mirror thread every so often and I just want to tell you something. You my friend are lucky you schooled him on the center thing. When I started reading it I was expect read it should be spelled centre's!
  2. As we say on The Stadium Wall, IN.
  3. Kelly I appreciate this post. I wish all of our guys well. Even the staph. Of course fans want to win the trade all the time. Darcy would have never had the stomach or the stones to pull this off. I am laughing at how many of us fans are saying how much we overpaid. Maybe that's the Darcy effect? We don't understand what it takes to make a bold move like this because well, he just wouldn't have done it. Perhaps he would have gotten the deal done as most fans would have liked minus Lemieux or Armia. I don't really care. We have the assets, and we paid the asking price. Done deal. We did not overpay. We paid the going rate required to get the talent level we got. No problem. Sorry, back to the guys, I'm still a little sick seeing Miller in Canucks uni. These guys have all given us a lot of um, intrigue, value, entertainment etc over the years and I can only hope they do well and enjoy their new teams and sniff the playoffs again. Wait, I'm full of chit. I don't give a damn where Matt Ellis and Brian Flynn, end up. I have spent too much money and too much time yelling they suck to truly wish them the to playoffs somewhere else lol.
  4. Darcy we all know you wouldn't have made the deal.
  5. I am really sick of the flip the puck high in the air to center style of our possession. That changes next season.
  6. Hope he reads the CHL thread. He won't understand his own logic! If the hockey deem us worthy of McDavid, Kane will score 53 goals next year. Three years from now is an eternity in sports and those kind of things tend not to work out. Look how many Toronto kids say it is their dream to play for the Leafs. well yes it is a dream as a kid. Once they become adults and realize all the pressure they would have to endure they sign somewhere else. I can offer you Patrick Kane as a Buffalo example. Of course mega bucks and a great team play a large factor in that and that will be the scene in Buffalo for Evander Kane three years from now. Great team, mega buck offer and a city that adores him and he is extremely comfortable in. You won't see Evander in a Canucks uniform until he is 36 years old when he can fulfill the dream of being a Canuck. If ever.
  7. My two cents on the big deal. I love it! In a way it reminds of the deal brought Gilmour to Toronto way back when. Lots of guys, blockbuster deal, good for both teams and totally changed the Leafs for years. I believe the bounce we get from these two guys will be over the top. People are so underrating BOGO as well. BOGO the punisher. Love every bit of this, and it cost what it cost. Just love the feeling we have right now and wish it was the off season instead of more of the enduring season. I will savor this moment.
  8. Excellent.......Ban him.
  9. I've missed a lot through the day and am trying to catch up. Maybe I will by the weekend. This line above from weave sums up this trade perfectly for me though. You don't get the opportunity to get high end talent very often. And when you do, it costs a lot. It will be so worth it over the next decade. Kane will be in a position three years from now where he won't be able to imagine leaving our dynasty that is being built right here, right now! Like that other Kane you know.
  10. LOL keep fighting the fight brother! Nikita endorses your posts.
  11. Yep. Slow deadline day for sure. Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss.
  12. Refreshing isn't it?
  13. I'm not hearing Armia as part of this deal. And this new addition of Burmistrov? Wasn't he a beast at the WJC? Is that the same guy?
  14. Again, thanks for the helpful info. We eat on that balcony if we cant get a table and they can close that off so that area would make sense. Appreciate everything. I will have to pick an item and focus on it rather than ramble about all my gripes.
  15. On the radio...interesting thought. Given the love that Ryan O'Reilly gets around here and the not so warm show of affection for Kane, who would you rather have? For me Kane. Bigger impact and offensive upside. And I think we get him cheaper given we do a deal now vs O'Reilly in the summer. I think you got it right nfreeman.
  16. Thanks for the info. I'm kind of lost as to the interaction. Am I supposed to bitch about the things I have bitched about for years that they have never addressed or the ones that they have addressed and neglected again? Or do I not have a voice Aud? Maybe this is the perfect time for once in my life to just shut my mouth and partake of the top shelf bar and food. Wife will absolutely kill me if I go off on the tangent that I would want to go off about lol. And most all of that would be about arena ops and experience. Maybe if their plowing me with top shelf goods I will enjoy the moment and let it be. I can't do the game they offered me and will pick a substitute game. p.s. Aud, it better not be on that balcony area. It's cold outside man. It's really f'n cold outside. Thanks!
  17. Anyone attended any of the Ted Black get togethers before a game? These are for season ticket holders and in groups of 40 or so for an hour before certain games. I got a call regarding attending one.
  18. I think it's way too late for that. Oh and your post does not please Nikita.
  19. I tried it. I don't like it. It needs to go away with it's factory of pain effect. Toronto, Philly gtf outta here!
  20. Sure I usually hate speculating but I believe with you it might be interesting. Guys like Kane are not made available and when they are there is a price to pay. I think you way underestimate the value of him. However, there's no way in hell I'm giving up Myers + + whatever that crap was this morning. And you are on record as saying no to Ennis + + which I believe I could see my way to doing. You know you cant get something for nothing and it seems like we are in a position to strike on that deal. So ok Ennis and a 1st. Would you? I would in a heartbeat! And Peg may come to find out that deal is the best they can do in season. So what else do you propose? I guess I would say propose form some of the rumors that are out there.
  21. I think you're overlooking how tough of a game he plays. He would be great protection for whoever the next underage center is going to be.
  22. Yes. The franchise deserves it. They toyed with their fans this year and are about to go on a massive losing streak. Not wishing this on them, but injuries could overtake them now. If they lose Johnny T on top of Okpaso? Sprinkle in an injury to Halak. Yes I do still see hope in them getting a ticket. Again I am not rooting for injuries to their players by any means. Just know that franchise deserves to suck the bottom depths and knows how to do it. They got too good, too fast this year. I don't like them. Punch my lotto ticket :flirt: Just so you understand where I 'm coming from, I'm saying the Isles don't win another game this season :w00t:
  23. Funny! I made a comment during the game last night watching at home, those jerseys look black! I see those jerseys and hear Frank Sinatra. But where are the clowns. Send in the clowns...
  24. To everyone saying Kane is an attitude problem, bad guy, locker room cancer, team mates don't like him etc etc etc I have zero issue with it. The Patriots would sign him in football and the Yankees would take him in baseball. Stop overplaying that stuff. And if Dustin Bufflein in your guiding light you are in big trouble. You know, the vet who shows up out of shape. Maybe it's good they don't like each other? Re Ennis for Kane, to the naysayers Ennis is so valuable here? How many goals he putting in? Small guy. Stop it with that too. However the price of Kane is going down all the time so who knows what he is actually worth now but I would say WE are in the drivers seat now with news he will get surgery. Winnipeg needs the revenue from the playoffs. Scratch any contender off the list. I think we dictate the terms on this one. I'm in left field with Myers though. I don't know about getting a goalie. We need guys that can score.
  25. Then ask if they will take coho to close the deal. I think you are bang on with your assessment.
