An increasing number of my soldiers the last decade are urban minorities. Many of them join with the mind set of doing their four years and then getting out and using the GI bill. The GI bill pays 100% tuition, $500 per semester book stipend, and a housing allowance equivalent to the rank of Seargent for the zip code your school is in, which is over $1100 per month for Clarksville, TN where I live. Just pointing out an option that many impoverished minorities are using, granted it's not for everybody.

The US draws the group of death with Australia, Sweden and Nigeria in the Woman's World Cup, all four teams were the top ranked seed in their pod. Canada has a tough group, Germany and Japan get a free pass. The lottery was very well done, every ball was drawn, opened and read in front of the cameras, no possibility for shenanigans.

Both. We have a saying in the army, "You don't have to respect the person, but you have to respect their rank". This is what I meant, and I think it's applicable to the discussion. At least what I was discussing. To reiterate my point, in the discussion I was having, if a cop is talking to you you probably did something wrong which is why he's talking to you in the first place. If a cop is giving you instructions you should listen to him, if you do than nothing gets escalated.

I have idea what you are referring to, but I don't know you to be someone who exagerates so I'll take your word for it. There's always going to be exceptions and outliers no matter the discussion, that does not invalidate my point though. If you comply with an officers instructions in a respectful manner things don't escalate.

How many times have you seen, read, or heard of a person complying with an officers instructions in a respectful manner and dying? Me either. Why don't more young men and women enroll in a police academy and join their local force so they can be part of the solution?
