Deploying military in the streets - if you're talking about LA, ICE agents were under attack, Bass wouldn't allow police to assist in a timely manner, Newsome refused to send in the guard. That wasn't a peaceful protest, that was rioting and looting. Trump did the right thing sending in the troops to quell the riots when Newsome refused to do it. Was it legal? I have idea, but I support his decision. BLS director - i agree with you, it looks shady. They say in the article that quarterly reports will be used until they implement a system that will give accurate data in a more timely manner than go back to the monthly reports, we'll see.

Texas senate passed the redistricting maps. The house will pass it as soon as they get enough bodies for a quarum. I thought it HAD to go through the house first? Guess not. Things are escalating in TX, Democrats having their funds frozen until they return.

What it excludes are "Indians not taxed and three fifths of all other persons." What it includes is "free Persons, including those bound to service for a term of years." Those terms seem outdated. Tens of millions of illegal immigrants was not a concern back then. I don't believe a favorable Supreme Court ruling is the slam dunk you think it is.

Not to my knowledge, no. I would imagine congress republicans can push it through and we know that Trump will sign it. Trump didn't have a bill in 2020. If it gets through the republican congress, and i think we all believe it will, Trump will sign it into law. Carter made the mid decade census lawfull. This happening is a real possibility.

You maybe missed the House of Representatives vote on May 8, 2024, before Trump won the election, passing by a vote of 206-202? House of Representatives passes Edwards’ bill to only include U.S. citizens in congressional representation I believe it was stated that the census is not for the purpose of redrawing Congressional districts, you're correct in that not being allowed. I believe the purpose is to eliminate large numbers of illegals, especially in sanctuary cities and states, from the census in an effort to reduce number of seats in blue districts. I'm not saying it's right, or i agree with it, just sharing something i find interesting.

However, it prohibits the use of mid-decade census data for apportioning seats in the House of Representatives or redrawing congressional districts.

This is not correct at all. Every ten years has been the standard, but it CAN be done more frequently, it just hasn't been done before Trump. And no, illegal immigrants should not be counted in the census. On this we agree.
