  1. Every guy makes the same freekin move, like 20 in a row
  2. Any guess on why it's called a stink bug?
  3. 10 minutes of own goals, sometimes the defenseman puts it in by mistake, but sometimes it's empty net
  4. Buffalo 4-0 in Vancouver. 6. Consider moving your old and middle line a month. The December born player has been the youngest player on his team his entire life, the chances that a late round December born player gets better are pretty good, and he resembles the November/October player in this way. He doesn't resemble the January player at all, who has been the oldest player on his team his entire life. The chances of a late round January player getting better are close to zero. This has a much bigger effect as you go down the draft, as it never really mattered to Eichel or McDavid when they were born, they were always the best player. So the importance of the old/middle/younger/young curves.
  7. I think this is true too. Sorry for the false alarm
  8. even strength numbers It is certainly possible my charts are wrong
  9. Eichel's production overall (2.7 pts/60 even strength) is better than with Kane (2.3). So, since Kane has been there a little more than half the time, without Kane is roughly 3.1/pts per 60. The interesting number is Eichel with O'Reilly, 7 points in 44 minutes, or 9.6 pts/60. All numbers not counting last night
  10. Falk sure, O'Reilly yeah, but where'd they get enough ice so Eichel could skate straight for 45 minutes?
  11. Sabres 2-1 overtime in Calgary. 12. It's not for you to say, it is and was for her to say.
  13. As I understand it, it's not the issue that GM's care about. They want to keep you under 41 games your first season, then you get to UFA a year later (if you are young enough to make a difference) As to your question, I don't think Nylander is burning his ELC playing in Rochester, so I think the answer is no.

  15. I think the talent level is a problem, but it's not the only problem. If you look at shooting stats, pretty much everyone with a PDO over 100 makes the playoffs, most everyone with a PDO under 100 doesn't make the playoffs. I believe Botterill and Housley are trying to maximize the number of shots, which is fairly irrelevant regarding whether you win hockey games or not. The Sabres' PDO has gone from 99.4 (23rd) last year to 98.3 (28th) this year. I'm concerned that even if they raise the talent level, they will be stuck playing like Carolina while this gang runs this team.

  17. I think that ought to be 4 minutes for embellishment, since he probably drew blood
  18. It seems Pittsburgh gave up their 2020 2nd round pick. There were a handful of cap dumps, maybe 5 or so, but they were all pretty expensive in draft pick cost, the wikipedia draft pages are good for sorting things out. I'm with liger on this one, need to have Davidsson more than Bogo needed to leave.
  19. Zach Solow (one of the best names in hockey) came in second, and wasn't drafted. The year earlier Keller scored 1.61 per game, Keller being about 8 months younger when you factor in the year. (Keller and Mittelstadt are almost the same age) Mittlestadt's numbers in USHL and NCAA are good, they just aren't the level of best prospect in hockey. Pronman is just saying I don't care about that, I know what I saw in the WJC. Me? I'm waiting it out before I have an opinion.
  20. If you look at history, scouts are very bad in finding sandwiches.
  21. I think for Percy it's a contract issue. I don't understand the ins and outs, but I think he signed with the Amerks, and not the Sabres. I notice the other day in eliteprospects that he recieved a contract extension, but it was vague on details. nhlnumbers has Nelson as one of the Sabres' 50 contracts, but not Percy. If anyone understands the why, ...
  22. If you look at my 2016 draft contest, most everyone took Nylander. Murray, McKenzie, Pronman, the Hockey News. Only me (Chychrun) and Button (Craig took someone named Brown, maybe Logan?) took someone else. Tim Murray chose poorly yes, but he only chose poorly because the method that he believes in, what most everyone believes in, doesn't really work.
  23. Pronman is saying 'Don't worry he isn't scoring in NCAA and didn't in USHL last season.' My charts have him at 14th among forwards in his draft class for his NCAA this year. 7th last year in the USHL. Pronman is putting more weight on the WJC.
  24. I went back though the last 18 box scores. It looks like the Amerks changed lines on Dec 10. Going from Smith/Griffith/(Rodriguez or Crisco) to Smith/Crisco/Baptiste. But there is very little info in AHL box scores, so I might be drawing too much inference from the information (Sometimes 19 isn't on the ice for a goal either way the entire game). One thing I was paying attention to taking notes was if Smith was taken off the power play, it doesn't look like it. These are my notes: Jan 10 3-2 L belleville Crisco Baptiste Jan 6 3-1 W lehigh valley did get Power Play Jan 5 3-2 W bridgeport nothing - not on ice for power play Dec 30 4-2 L level Malone Cornel - did get PP time Dec 29 2-0 W toronto - did get PP time Dec 27 3-1 L level nothing Dec 23 3-1 W level nothing Dec 22 3-2 W level crisco baptiste Dec 20 3-1 W Belleville nothing Dec 16 3-2 W Utica Baptiste Crisco got power play time Dec 15 3-2 L Toronto Baptiste Blackwell Dec 13 3-1 W Utica Criso Baptiste got power play time Dec 10 4-1 W Bridgeport griffith crisco half power play time Dec 9 3-2 L Hartford griffith/ross and malone/ross Dec 8 2-1 W Springfield crisco griffith Dec 2 5-2 W WB Scranton rodriguez griffith Dec 1 5-4 L Hartford rodriguez griffith did get pp time Nov 29 2-1 L Utica nothing
