Wilson and Nelson - JAGs or part of the solution
rakish replied to GASabresIUFAN's topic in The Aud Club
If you looks at even strength points per 60, and tossing out Bailey because he only played a couple games, and recognizing my stats are somewhat inaccurate, and not including yesterday, Wilson is 2nd, and Rodriguez is 3rd on the team. They each are scoring at a rate that would look good on a good team. The top 10 or so: number name ESpts/60 ESpts 95 BAILEY2.69 3 15 EICHEL2.67 38 20 WILSON2.22 10 71 RODRIGUES2.01 11 45 GUHLE1.86 1 9 KANE1.76 28 90 O'REILLY1.70 27 21 OKPOSO1.51 20 13 BAPTISTE1.49 2 29 POMINVILLE1.32 17 23 REINHART1.31 17 67 POULIOT1.09 12 Just a guys score 1pt/60, Wilson and Rodriguez are scoring 2pts/60. Neither has particularly good linemates (though Erod killed in 15 minutes with Eichel). -

I'm curious how you're deciding this. Eye test? Corsi? Points? -

Looked at the dualing data site, I love the 4 variables it decided were actually relevant.

Looking at it further, Stamkos was playing a lot with Kutcherov, but in the last 5 games, they generally aren't out together. Stamkos yesterday played more with Johnson and some guy named Gourde, who has too many points for someone I've never heard of. Both Johnson and Gourde get about 2 minutes per game or PP time, while Stamkos, Kucherov, and Namesikov get about 4 minutes per game

I have minutes you play with teammates, but not individually against opposition. I hadn't really thought of looking at it daily when I made the charts, I might add that next time I sit down and code

Oh I give up, Uncle

Boston seems most interested in getting their top line against your weakest defenseman when they are home. I remember an earlier Boston game where they targeted either Antipin or Beauleau, I forget which

I hear they refuse to look at the video of their own experiences, they're starting with a clean slate

Kyrou would be expensive, he's scored a lot since being drafted. Bellows would be cheaper, as he hasn't, but power forwards often take time to develop, so if I was the Islanders I would hang onto him. Brendan Lemieux and Kassian come to mind as that type of player that takes some time.

The important stat is scoring in relation to the rest of the team, and how good that team is. Mittelstadt leads his team in scoring, not by a lot, but the team is not so good. Tkachuk is outscored, but not by a lot. It's not a calculation I can do off the top of my head. Without actually doing the math, my guess is Dahlin, Tkachuck, Svetchnikov, Bouchard, Zadina, but I wait for the end of the regular season to do the math.

Florida 4-2 in Buffalo. Housley follows your twitter account skogslopp 93 ANTIPIN7.13 20 WILSON6.28 55 RISTOLAINEN6.14 90 O'REILLY6.11 19 MCCABE5.99 21 OKPOSO5.82 23 REINHART5.81 6 SCANDELLA5.72 15 EICHEL5.64 31 JOHNSON5.09 28 GIRGENSONS5.00 9 KANE4.64 29 POMINVILLE3.97 17 NOLAN3.87 13 BAPTISTE3.69 10 JOSEFSON3.58 22 LARSSON3.54 4 GORGES2.77 8 NELSON2.66 For me it's not the eye test that is required, it's that you're looking at the wrong data. When Antipin is on the ice, the shooting percentage is much higher on the offensive end, as compared to Beaulieu, and much lower in the defensive end. Since shots barely correlate to winning, and shooting percentage highly correlate to winning, it makes sense to me that what is considered 'eye test' is on ice shooting percentage rather than shots.

What I decided was that overagers are so undervalued, there's really no need to take a 17 year old not born in the youngest quadrant after about the 3rd round. I used to have this really nice graphic, one for each year. From odd leagues like Kirk is playing, players are highly overdrafted, as they are from high school. You want to take college kids.

He's playing. It looks like the team hasn't put out stats, but if you look at game summaries, he gets mentioned.

The style of play is a large part of save percentage.
