If you can find a B Spot, they have great burgers. Another great burger joint, although a drive-in, is Swenson's. There's one just south of Independence on Broadview Road. GREAT burgers, but you have to eat in the car. That's part of the fun of it! I hope your lady is OK, man.

I think that extra inch of height he gained after his rookie season completely screwed him up. He's awkward now. Flubs the puck all the time. It's hard to watch so much promise being wasted.

Our team coasts on the forecheck and other teams FLY. That's the main difference I see. I like a lot of our players, but the system doesn't allow them to be aggressive enough.

Agreed. First 3 penalties against Buffalo were awful. That hit on Alfredsson was NOT boarding. It was from the side and he hardly touched him. Nice acting there. Same with Karlsson acting. The Sabres had a ton of shots, but almost ALL of them were into Anderson's belly. Easy easy saves right there. Ugh! I thought the first period was as good as they've played all year. Their power play, if you can call it that, had a new wrinkle with Ennis cutting across the ice (imagine that) and then passing to Vanek for the dump-in. It worked, but once they're in the zone, as per usual, there's no movement at all, or very little compared to other teams. When will it ever change?

"OK boys, show us what you got!" I'm expecting a Boston Massacre the way the Sabres are playing. It doesn't look good, but I remain hopeful and will of course watch.

Good. Does anyone really miss him? I know he's a big cap hit, but if he never plays for Buffalo again, so what!!

My complaint is that I'm stupid enough to block shots in PICKUP hockey. I took one to the medial aspect of the left knee last Friday night. I've never, EVER, had a shot block hurt that badly or last this long. And I have great shin pads, too. This must've just hit perfectly and caused a ridiculous bone bruise. Still swollen, stiff, and sore. Missing my 2nd league game tonight, gave up two referee gigs last weekend, will probably miss tomorrow's pickup and had to take a MITE game on Saturday just to try the leg out in a slow-paced skate. Why am I so stupid when I play? I guess it's a macho thing. This time it really bit me.

Gotta start 'em early on that, because their parents and coaches will teach 'em differently. Shrader if the refs know you hate them, they will enjoy seeing you obtain that welt. Hockey coaches that are OUT OF CONTROL on the bench, that teach their players that predatory hits are OK, and get more OUT OF CONTROL when I call them penalties. What a joke. That team is now blocked in my schedule so I don't have to see it anymore. Football on skates. I like good hitting, but it's gotta be clean and on time. Taking 3 strides to slam a player into the boards, in the head (usually), 3 seconds after he has passed the puck, is stupid, bad, dirty hockey. Some people just don't get it. ^this

And by the way, I went home to Buffalo a few weekends ago. I reset the MPG meter and the Fuel Used meter before I hopped on the freeway. From Avon, Ohio to HSBC Arena, I got 47 MPG from my Cruze Eco. I love this car. Fun to drive, great mileage, looks great.

2011 Chevy Cruze Eco. Great gas mileage and a turbo when it's needed. Just got it. My new daily driver. 2008 Chevy Equinox - wife's car 1992 Chevy K1500 4x4. Had been eye balling this truck for 2 years when it finally had a for sale sign on it. Traded Ford Ranger and Olds Alero on the Cruze and bought the K1500 later that day. (I don't mess around!) Great for Lowe's and Home Depot Runs, and a little fun when needed!

I don't. His actions caused his opponent to remove a hand from his stick. The call against Boyle was weak, too, as Sekera just fell under the pressure from the ridiculously STUPID play he made. Lots of questionable calls in that game. Not that we ever want the Sabres to have a power play, because theirs just blows, and has since Arniel left the Sabres.

Would you please shoot the damn puck, Vanek? WTF is wrong with you? You had the win on your stick, and you made a weak-azzed pass to Roy. Brutal. Oh, and will the Sabres ever be good at getting the puck out of their own zone? It's been this way since I first started watching in 1970. WTF!!!!!
