  1. Unsure if it had to be an operation or just merely a very important appointment. For instance, finding out if the heart is working right and isn’t being rejected and thus can start working it some to retrain her body and actually recover.
  2. Wrong, they did get Lehner therapy for his depression issues. The Isles did better though by sending him to alcohol treatment. Ullmark was happy with the Sabres treatment of him during his mourning. He even made note to mention that in his article that the Sabres treated him well but he wanted to get a fresh start in a different venue because it reminded him too much of his Dad. (In part) Besides the whole Eichel thing, we’ve actually had a good track record with treating players well. Tage and his wife were also helped for instance.
  3. This team truly is cursed…. Even when they work hard and start creating a stick breaks or a puck inexplicably hits a divet and hops a stick.
  4. Like this Leone guy; demands from his players and isn't afraid to call out our golden goose for a lack of steady play.
  5. My guess is Dahlin will be back and forth this year and possibly over the summer they'll return to the U.S. and finish her Year 1 Plus here. You are recommended not to travel until 1 year after the surgery so I'd imagine that's what they'll wait for. Then as long as she recovered well they'd be back in Buffalo
  6. Glass half full would say we must be better this year then because we are still around the same with all these issues. However close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.
  7. Yes he was certainly over-played but as a 3rd liner he was a fine player. We just put him on the Top line. Also Pommers did well 1-20 and 60-82 approximately while he didn’t exist 21 to 59
  8. I thought it was McCormick to be honest
  9. Pommers actually played rather well here when he returned. A solid 3rd line guy who still could play at a decent level. Hell we should of brought him back 1 more year instead of trading for Vesey.
  10. I’d imagine most team doctors have specialties that mostly focus on Sports Medicine as well as a guy who does concussions and the like. I doubt their immediate staff has doctors that specialize in sudden unusual blood clots or serious viral illnesses. Those would likely require the player to be sent to a specialist.
  11. Unsure unless Carolina had a guy in his shooting lane
  12. Even when Krebs got high sticked and jerked his head back they didn’t call it.
  13. Love how the refs only see our penalties
  14. Thompson has had a rough season thus far but has produced a some and has had at least 10 different line mates
  15. I do wonder if the fact we were flying to Carolina may have broke him mentally seeing as his fiancé is named Carolina. Just that small thing that could mean more to him hearing the name and everything else. Frankly I don’t think he’s leaving for anything to do with the season’s start. Had he started the season on fire and looked great I might be more worried but he’s looked distracted and distant this year and thus the idea that his emotions have clouded him to this point makes a lot of sense.
  16. With the captain and 1D on a LOA, let's start fixing the staff now so we can surprise him with a new vision when he returns.
  17. Frankly my guess is he's always had the option but has like any typical man wanted to put his head down and grind through it. Trying to lead a hockey team out of the basement, be a good fiancé for a wife who had a heart transplant overseas, and being a world class hockey player simultaneously can't possibly be easy. If this franchise is good at anything though, its treating their players well in regards to this sort of stuff.
  18. He's likely tired from worrying and its been a noticeable distraction on the ice for him so hopefully this will give him the proper time to right himself and hopefully return with his fiancé to better days ahead. Perfect time for some firings and making things right on the homefront
  19. I wouldn't but primarily due to the contract
  20. That would be nice to have a credible front office
  21. They are better than last year and arguably a toss-up playoff team but are injured to hell and back and its hurting them. Last night's game was actively a bad matchup with the Blues clogging up the middle and the Sabres lacking Benson and Zucker who are both good at piercing those areas in their own ways. The PP relies heavily on the combo of Dahlin-Thompson-Doan-Benson-Zucker since 3 different guys like to net front scrum and Benson loves to skate around. Sans Benson, they try to move around but have less effectiveness and fall into standing minus Thompson and Dahlin passing or moving up and down/left and right.
  22. Can't happen; all I can say is it can't happen because I doubt this fanbase would survive.
  23. We have them pinned in their zone but every pass seems to go to the back hand or bounce or get deflected. It’s maddening
  24. Thompson has looked slowish since that shot block against Washington. The AHLers aren’t exactly helping him either. We have so many forward injuries that we can’t sustain anything between shifts. UPL has to make that save Quinn is both the most and least skilled puckhandler on this team.
  25. The power play is where you see the loss of Zucker and Benson the most
