Can anyone tell me what exactly Geogiev was trying to accomplish in OT? he's a big goalie, he doesn't need to take overt risks like Levi to make up for his size.

I know technically Thompson was tasked with the Dman but in that specific situation the Sabres D man should have shaded over to Karlsson since Thompson was trying to intercept the initial draw.

Don't think it truly matters; this franchise cannot afford to have a re-re-rebuild. At this point they just need to make the playoffs and keep their core happy enough to get there. If you have to give him 8 years 10mil per then do it; its a bad contract for sure but keeps the food on the table, so to speak.

It's not impossible; Power will always have the inherent skating and offensive chops though. Mrtka definitely has more bite in his game and the advantage of likely getting whatever amount of time he needs to develop. His rookie season he showed a bit more gusto and had some great defensive positioning

I don't want the PA or players to play the games that this would involve. I want players to be invested in winning at nigh-any cost and doing whatever it takes to do that; not trying to be "performers" merely looking to entertain to the masses. The younger masses, as a whole, are predominately low attention span holding idiots that require instant gratification and a constant stream of it to be made "entertained."
