  1. I would of found a new D coach and traded for Tallinder by now. Myers and Ehrhoff are the future of the Sabres D, Ehrhoff needs to be able to play with a defensive D-man so he doesn't look at a mental crossroads at the point between pinching and falling back.
  2. Miller won't be traded to Detroit seeing as Detroit joins our division next year. The Sabres need to stop half-assing everything, this team at its present form needs to be at least strategically blown up to rid ourselves of deadwood and gain young talent. We don't need to have a full firesale though, with some luck we could be back in the thick of things after next season. Let the youngsters play more, let's see how they play in the NHL so we can either move on or cut our losses.
  3. At least Stafford is helping us by making his value go up again.
  4. That's my top keeper, Vanek adds something that's hard to find in his deflection abilities + front of net presence while still have enough speed to get on break aways. Pominville is good but isn't the only reliable goal scorer in the NHL. Miller, I wouldn't trade to any team in the east but if I got Bernier from LA, I wouldn't mind seeing if Bernier and Enroth could split a season. Hell a team without Pommers, Miller, and Stafford wouldn't look terrible. From soft team last year to a pain in the ### next year. FORWARDS Thomas Vanek ($7.143m) / Cody Hodgson ($3.000m) / Corey Perry ($8.900m) Marcus Foligno ($0.900m) / Tyler Ennis ($2.813m) / David Clarkson ($3.467m) Steve Ott ($2.950m) / Mikhail Grigorenko ($1.775m) / Ville Leino ($4.500m) Patrick Kaleta ($1.250m) / Kevin Porter ($0.538m) / Corey Tropp ($0.778m) Brian Flynn ($1.250m) / Nathan Gerbe ($1.450m) / DEFENSEMEN Tyler Myers ($5.500m) / Christian Ehrhoff ($4.000m) Andrej Sekera ($2.750m) / Mike Weber ($1.500m) Alexander Sulzer ($1.025m) / Robyn Regehr ($2.520m) GOALTENDERS Jonathan Bernier ($2.125m) Jhonas Enroth ($0.861m) OTHER Buried: Cody McCormick ($0.275m) ------ CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS (follow @capgeek on Twitter) (these totals are compiled with the bonus cushion) SALARY CAP: $64,300,000; CAP PAYROLL: $50,118,274; BONUSES: $850,000 CAP SPACE (22-man roster): $4,731,726
  5. I would try at least to keep 1 or 2 of the "CORE" because if we go all young, we have no hope for 3 to 5 years of having a good team. I'm not waiting another 5 years for the playoffs.....
  6. https://twitter.com/DennisTFP/status/311898498599636992 His twitter was full of stuff about LA wanting Regehr and/or Leopold
  7. Sabres are supposedly in talks as we speak with LA for a trade.
  8. If I were to trade Miller, I'd send him to Anaheim, LA, or San Jose. Why? They are West coast teams with no chance of ever being in our conference. LA could fetch us Brown, Bernier/Quick and something small Ana could send us Hiller and Perry SJ..... I don't know
  9. Flynn and Porter resurrected the old hard hitting, high flying Foligno we all loved. Nice goal by Vanek Stafford looks like he was actually trying, has to put it all out there for the scouts for sure.
  10. What about Tomas Fleischmann, how much would Florida want for him and would we even want him?
  11. Do you not understand...... They are compensation picks if Perry leaves after this season; seeing as why should we get screwed if he walks. It would just be insurance since a combination of Pommers,Leopold/Sekera,a D-prospect, and maybe even a 2nd/3rd rounder is easily worth 2 1sts and a 3rd rounder + Perry rental for a month. Pominville it at very least worth a 1st and a 2nd rounder, Leo/Sekera are around 2nd/3rd rounders + D-prospect and 3rd Rounder, In the end if Perry didn't sign with Buffalo after being traded here We would get Pommers for a 1st this year, and a 3rd next year. Leo/Sekera + D- Prospect + 3rd Rounder for next years 1st rounder.
  12. I was meaning conditional compensation if Perry wouldn't sign.
  13. What? Actually trying to think of trade ideas? You guys would practically trade half our team for 1 pick and be willing to wait 5+ years for us to even hope for a cup again. Corey Perry – $5.3 million. Asking price would likely be a roster player, 1st round pick and a good prospect. (ESPN) Roster player- Pommers is more than a common roster player We have good D- prospects Throw in a D-Man like Leopold/Sekera We may have to throw in a 2nd or 3rd rounder but nothing we can't recoup through other trades.
  14. Pommers and a D-Prospect for Corey Perry + (Conditional 1st rounders this year + next and a 3rd rounder next year if Perry won't sign with us) Leopold for 2nd Rounder Stafford for 3rd Rounder Hecht for 2nd/3rd Rounder Adam for 4th Rounder Regehr for 2nd/3rd Rounder In the end we dump a bunch of rentals, Pommers, and 2 prospects for Corey Perry 1-3 2nd Rounders 1-3 3rd Rounders 1 4th Rounder If that all was worked out, next I would attempt to use 1 2nd rounder and 2 3rd rounder / 2 2nd Rounders to get a late 1st rounder off of someone.
  15. New GM idea: Put Mike Robitaille in the GM's chair
  16. These refs should be investigated after the game, additionally what's the link for the NHL complaint email? If you are going to throw out Scott, you throw out their guy too. Nice goal by Flynn and the Rochester Amerk line.
  17. FORWARDS Thomas Vanek ($7.143m) / Cody Hodgson ($3.00m) / Jason Pominville ($5.300m) Steve Ott ($2.950m) / Tyler Ennis ($2.813m) / Corey Perry ($8.500m) Nathan Gerbe ($1.450m) / Mikhail Grigorenko ($1.775m) / Marcus Foligno ($0.900m) Patrick Kaleta ($1.250m) / Kevin Porter ($0.538m) / Brian Flynn ($1.074m) Corey Tropp ($0.778m) DEFENSEMEN Christian Ehrhoff ($4.000m) / Alexander Sulzer ($1.025m) Tyler Myers ($5.500m) / Robyn Regehr ($2.500m) Mike Weber ($1.500m) / Andrej Sekera ($2.750m) Brayden McNabb ($0.900m) / T.J. Brennan ($0.805m) GOALTENDERS Ryan Miller ($6.250m) OTHER Buried: Cody McCormick ($0.275m) ------ CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS (follow @capgeek on Twitter) (these totals are compiled with the bonus cushion) SALARY CAP: $64,300,000; CAP PAYROLL: $62,124,482; BONUSES: $910,000 CAP SPACE (22-man roster): $3,085,518 Would this work?
  18. If we are still below 30 pts by April 1st we have no hope in making the playoffs so I would assume we would at least entertain the seller role because of there being a small market of teams selling rentals. We have Expirery Rentals: F Hecht 1.25mil D Sulzer 725k D Pardy 2mil D Leopold 3mil D Brennan 550k RFA (Prospect too) D Regehr 4.02mil (NTC) (I doubt very much seeing how we got him in the 1st place) Longer term players: Stafford 4mil (2 more years) Gerbe 1.45mil (1 more then RFA) Sekera 2.75mil (2 more years) Prospects: Adam RFA + maybe 1 D-Man We have ample to offer, we may not deem them all amazing assets; but to other teams they may see them differently Remember Briere when we got him. Sometimes a new location is all a player needs to be woken up. Leopold will fetch more than a 3rd Rounder if the market contracts due to most teams being in the hunt. Leopold might be able to get us a 1st rounder in the right circumstances if there are few D up for trade.
  19. Well that certianly doesn't help Buffalo in the slightest; how the hell are we going to get 4 stars on the team like Chicago does?
  20. But Getzlaf has a cap hit of 8.2 which matches his 66mil in contract years, not his 6 mil in bonuses.
  21. Is there a limit on a signing bonus? Like is it possible to sign Perry to a 8 yr 40mil contract with 3 mil signing bonuses every year in order to keep his cap hit at 5mil. If so, why not do similair contracts for Miller, Pommers, and Vanek?
  22. I wouldn't blame Enroth for that goal seeing as he did get injured and he kept us in the game at time during the game. I blame it on the rest of the team; you must win a game you get a 2 goal lead.
  23. He wants to play against his former team it seems.
  24. Hodgson, my God! That goal was awesome to watch!
