  1. What do you all think about his fate? I imagine him being traded along with a D-man for some vet winger 15-20 goal scorer or some sort of moderately high prospect (Teams desperate for a D-Man)
  2. It's sad but true that Myers' value has dropped in the eyes of Sabres fans. If there is a nice D-man class at the draft I would at least entertain offers for Myers
  3. Seeing as unless he wows us in the next two games, I would honestly send him back to the Quebec league for the rest of the year. In his place I'd go out and sign Jason Arnott to a 1 year deal like we did with Hecht. He's score 17 goals in both of his last 2 seasons but more importantly, he's a veteran center who has won a Stanley Cup.
  4. Poor Miller lost his shutout because Buffalo seemed to shut down at the end, maybe they were getting fatigued? Regardless though, we won and get 2 more points.
  5. Myers bulldozed Lilles out of the crease and then in comes Ehrhoff with the final blow to send those three plus another Leaf out of the crease. Ott's penalty was very weak, all he did was move the puck; he didn't drop down onto it..... Hodgson scoring goals where Vanek is supposed to be and Vanek is scoring how Hodgson is supposed to via dekes and slapshots. The Leafs failed to score after at least a 3:30 min PP with 5-3 over 2min That's both sad for them and good for us.
  6. Vanek started somewhat slow but by the end was in peak form. Hodgson was everywhere, shooting, passing, deking, scoring. Hell, I even saw him hit a couple guys. Foligno and Ott seem to bring more life to the Sabres team for sure, both skate hard regardless of what's going on, both hit players as much as possible, and both were on their A games today. Ott's goal though was awesome to see. Refs helped us at the end. Miller seemed to be like Vanek, slow start, looked better as the game went on. Announcers on TV sucked. Stafford fighting and driving hard to the net, I like where this is going.
  7. Stafford stepping up for his linemate, Foligno also hit Hartnell after the original play. I love it, I like the more passionate Sabres 2nd/3rd lines. Our D-men seem half asleep more than 3/4th of the time. Bogus call on Ott. So Vanek hasn't gone down low eh..........
  8. Millbury also made an error in his overview of yesterday, Florida blew out Washington...... *facepalm*
  9. Is the training camp today closed or open to the public?
  10. My condolences to you and your family. I guess now though he gets to watch every game from whereever he likes and can meet famous Sabres that have passed before him.
  11. I see the Sabres doing anything from winning it all to not making the playoffs at this point. The most likely though is a 4th to 6th finish and being eliminated in the 2nd round after 6 or 7 games. The lineup will mostly stay together and Grigo has a respectable rookie season with 10 goals and 20 assists between the 3rd line with Ott and Leino and the PP. Vanek Hodgson and Pommers play well with (G/A) 23/20, 12/30, 15/30 respectively. Ott gets 20 points and Leino gets 8 goals. The Ennis Stafford and Foligno line come out of the gate hot but cool off by April. 11/20, 9/23, 13/23 respectively. Hecht gets 4 goals and 6 assists, Kaleta gets 2 goals and 4 assists, Gerbe gets 2 goals and 5 assists and Scott gets a goal ( :) ) The Defensive Corp is bolstered by having fresh legs and rookie season-esc Myers. Regehr 3/8 Myers 6/20 Erhoff 8/20 Leopold 4/10 Weber 2/5 Brennan 5/10 Sulzer 3/10 Sekera 3/10
  12. I'm starting to like the 9-25-23 line; can't wait to see it in an actual game. Could we have found Leino's spot due to the slight similarity between his line in Philly's makeup and that of his line with Ott and Grigs Ott plays Hartnell's role, not nearly as good scoring wise but does fit the agressive role and hard work. Grigs has similair abilities + to that of Briere abiet much younger Discuss
  13. I know that LA needs a vet D-Man, so I would love to be able to deal Leopold and Adam (if Brown) for Gagne (contract ends at the end of this season) and a mid draft pick or Brown (Seriously doubt but wth) Both have comparable contracts, both are UFAs at year's end. Though Gagne has injury trouble, he still put up 17 points in 34 games last year and might be useful.
  14. I see nothing wrong with my thread from July being revived lol I feel regardless of play Hecht may retire after this or the next year due to nagging problems in his body. I'm hoping it to be 1 yr at 1.5 mil to 1.75 mil as a depth forward who can play above average. With his injury history, I can't see any other teams picking him up outside of Buffalo unless he wows the NHL during the 48 game season.
  15. Grigo with the kick save. What can't he do!?
  16. As the topic states, do they? I wonder how much it would take to pry Kucherov from the Lightning seeing as he and Grigo have some awesome chemistry.
  17. Another good day for Sabres prospects. McCabe 2 G, 1 A Grigo 1 G (Tying goal I must add)
  18. What do you think about the Eklund supposed rumor?
  19. First I would try Pardy and Leopold for Briere, yes I know it's very weak for the Flyers but it would give them 2 Top 6 D-men rentals. Then I would try Sekera and either for Briere If they were interested then I would offer Adam, Sekera, Leopold, 2nd rounder, random prospect with some upside for Hartnell & Briere which would free them some cap space and allow them to move on Bobby Ryan. Yes it helps the Flyers, but it helps us too by giving us even more grit and 1st line Center. Just imagine a team with no true "1st" line Leino-Briere-Hartnell (Flyers reunion) Vanek-Hodgson-Pominville Foligno-Ennis-Stafford Ott-McCormick-Kaleta (Scott/Gerbe/Ellis) Myers-Weber/McNabb Ehrhoff-Sulzer Regehr-Pardy
  20. Hockeyy Insiderr ‏@HockeyyInsiderr The #Flyers have offered ON THE TABLE for Bobby Ryan MATT READ+2013 1st+ Laughton+ Meszaros. #CONFIRMED Ball in #NHLDucks court. #WOW If this rumor was true what would you think? Would you want Buffalo to attempt to beat that?
  21. That seems almost too steep to be plausible. Chicago may ask for that though. Seeing that Kane really wouldn't improve the team enough if we got rid of Vanek or Pominville
  22. The amount of trade rumors and how DR has started working almost looks as if we are trying to completely redo the roster.
  23. I like the idea of signing Carle. Then we additional ability to wheel and deal players to the many of those defensive short teams.
  24. Why is it garbage, we may hate Roy but how does that make him hated by all? What if the Ducks deem something we don't like as precious. Additionally we all know how much Darcy loves Roy, plus he's pretty cheap for his stats. Adam went down, but was still a NHL rookie All-Star. He got in a slump, why wouldn't a bit of scenery change have a hoped effect of getting the great start of season Adam back. All prospects that are good are precious.
