Supposedly according to a Chicago follower the Sabres have talked with them about Stalberg and Bolland. In return they mentioned Ott, Foligno, and Regehr. Outside Regehr I'd say no way in hell.

I love how as it happens you can just imagine their faces lighting up as redder than a stop light.

Game Discussion Thread GDT: Sabres @ Tampa Bay 7:30 3/26/13

Did you see him get that pretzel? It was a quite impressive feat of standing, wallet usage, and walking. In Tampa, I betcha he could literally have walked around in the halls without being recognized by a single concessions person or Tampa fan. -

What happened to Vanek, wasn't on the ice the remaining 15 min of the period, did I miss something? -
If he does, would he be allowed to play with them next year?
-
Isn't there a way he can play with the Amerks during the playoffs this year?
-
Regehr(50% cap), Leopold(35% cap), and Hecht for Stoll and a 3rd Rounder Then during the offseason we resign Regehr to a 3mil a year deal. Hecht, I'd also resign if its possible to give him a 2 way contract still. Because then he could play on 1st line in Rochester with Grigs and Armia.

I wouldn't care what VAN offers for Ott, he's practically the only consistant player we have.

Leino has definitely come back with vengence for his terrible play last year. Hodgson is on pace atm, to double his pts from last year (if it were an 82 game season) He may come close to tying his 83 game totals from last year though. He seems to suddenly have an urge to backcheck since that Carolina game; it's a sight to see. :w00t: Vanek was back. Ehrhoff seems to be getting the PP back alive. Ott needs a Admiral's cap for his commanding this ship around. Could Rolston's less complicated system be working for the better in the players' minds. -
Stafford is a healthy scratch for the Sabres tonight. Clowe is a healthy scratch for the Sharks Stafford & 5th Rounder (NJ) for Clowe and a 3rd/4th Rounder , The pick trade is a fill in for the goal dropoff between the two players. Plus, Regier said he's working on helping next year, so I would assume picks will be involved in most to all of our trades this year. Figure out a way to get Stoll too, then we could have a lockdown 3rd line of Ott-Stoll-Clowe

RIP zhitnik, at least he went out on his own terms.

Ott shouldn't be C, but he either needs an A or to take the press after games. He's a far better speaker than Pommers in front of a camera. Honestly though, Pommers isn't C material in my mind, A for sure, he's likely a very good silent workhorse; but when times are tough we need someone who'll yell and get angry. Not to the point of blind rage, but with controlled disgust.

Vanek Hodgson Foligno Ott Weber Ehrhoff, Leino, and Enroth I'd keep aswell Only if he returns to old form.
-
Fire Darcy, or bring in some new office talent around him including a new Assistant GM

I still want Jonathan Bernier from LA, I don't want a raw goalie prospect we have to wait for to become something. We need to blow up the team strategically, not entirely. I'm not waiting another 5 years to get a team in the playoffs......
-
:P Not a Sabre either. They would have to give us Kadri and 2 1sts to get Miller.
-
I would never trade a star to Toronto, I don't care if they give us two 1st Rounders. Same goes for Philly.
-
The Buffalo News said Anaheim was interested in Miller. He's still considered a great goalie, we aren't going to get nothing for him.......

The Ott penalty.... who cares Hodgson always seems to be the one to score goals when we need them. I'm really getting to like this kid's nose for the back of the net. Vanek, you need to take some of Enroth's coffee away from him and drink it. Win, win The rest of the team was just all over the place. Myers thinks he's a freaking winger. Why hasn't anyone mentioned Hodgson, he may be a faceoff horror story but he sure scores. -
Anaheim is supposedly interested in Miller, Miller for Perry straight up?
-
What is the best return we could get for trading Tyler Myers?
thewookie1 replied to freester's topic in Archive
I would of found a new D coach and traded for Tallinder by now. Myers and Ehrhoff are the future of the Sabres D, Ehrhoff needs to be able to play with a defensive D-man so he doesn't look at a mental crossroads at the point between pinching and falling back. -
Miller won't be traded to Detroit seeing as Detroit joins our division next year. The Sabres need to stop half-assing everything, this team at its present form needs to be at least strategically blown up to rid ourselves of deadwood and gain young talent. We don't need to have a full firesale though, with some luck we could be back in the thick of things after next season. Let the youngsters play more, let's see how they play in the NHL so we can either move on or cut our losses.
-
At least Stafford is helping us by making his value go up again.
-
That's my top keeper, Vanek adds something that's hard to find in his deflection abilities + front of net presence while still have enough speed to get on break aways. Pominville is good but isn't the only reliable goal scorer in the NHL. Miller, I wouldn't trade to any team in the east but if I got Bernier from LA, I wouldn't mind seeing if Bernier and Enroth could split a season. Hell a team without Pommers, Miller, and Stafford wouldn't look terrible. From soft team last year to a pain in the ### next year.
