Probably a 2nd rounder + prior to deadline day, but how things went yesterday leaves me a tad confused as to what the market had set for a vet winger which varied immensely Tlusty - 2016 3rd-round pick, Cond. 2015 6th-round pick Baertschi - 2015 2nd-round pick Jagr - 2015 2nd-round pick, 2016 3rd-round pick Winnik - Sill, 2016 2nd-round pick, 2015 4th-round pick Glencross - 2015 2nd-round pick, 2015 3rd-round pick Fleischmann - Heatley, 2015 3rd-round pick Stempniak/Klingberg - traded for one another I'd of thought based on those trades that Stewart would have been at least been worth a 2nd in 2017 + something this year, maybe a 4th or so and Stafford would of been pretty similar in value. Granted its been said that Murray had intended to package Stewart and that in the 11th hour he was forced to go back Minnesota and just take whatever in a sense. Hence Stafford would of been worth about a 3rd in 2015/ 2nd in 2016 and a lesser pick in the other year. For instance 3rd in 2015 and 4th in 2016 or 2nd in 2016 and 4th in 2015 I just want to know how Winnik fetched so much. He's not that great, and Stewart matches up with him at very least statistically maybe even is better due to his scoring ability.

Ok I guess, I was a bit overly focused on the later parts. I agree 3 for 1 trades aren't going to help us at this point.

Then why only state Girgs, Risto, and Zad as a part of the future?

True Vets are 30+, because they typically are on the other side of their peak play. Aside from Gorges, you are naming experienced players but they aren't finished and washed up. I'd disagree, I think Ennis can be a very useful player going forward, he's put up 20 goals on terrible rosters so I'd assume he'd work well on a good team. Evander Kane isn't old by any measurement, and has the skill to be a 40 goal scorer Bogosian still can be a very effective D-man for many years

Next year will be alright for Buffalo if they get McEichel. A playoff team no, but if injuries don't plague us and we make a few key signings I can't imagine them being in the bottom five. Already one can guess that Arizona, Carolina, and Toronto will be near the bottom; along with the fact that the salary cap situation will likely create further parity in the league among the non-tanking teams. Based on the season we had this year thus far I can safely assume that next year we will do better solely because our defense will be better and we will likely have an actual first line.

This Trade Deadline sucked, we got mincemeat and I was at least hoping for Stewart to fetch something since so many others got over payed for. However Murray did accomplish what he had set out to do, help the team get to the bottom and stay there hopefully. Unlike some of you, I think Regier would have made a trade today, and he'd have likely gotten a 2nd & 3rd for Stewart but Regier wouldn't of traded anyone else due to the price being to low. GMTM doesn't seem to care about what it looks like on paper as long as he gets what he set out to gain, take it or leave it.

Erik Cole & conditional 3rd for 2 prospects and a 2nd from Detroit

I'd rather not risk the tank and get my hands on some more assets. Nothing is stopping us from resigning him this offseason

.....I see what you did there I'm a Sokka for the classics..... :)

Why can't they start Lou? Then we could lose.... Now I see another win due to the stupid backups

We dont have a 3rd rounder presently in 2015

What would you do, right now, as owner?
thewookie1 replied to SabresFanInRochester's topic in The Aud Club
I'd just put drowsiness inducing medicine in all the water and Gatorade in the locker room, simple yet effective in creating a sluggish team. -
Stewart + 2nd for BOS 2015 1st Mitchell for a 3rd or 4th (varies by need at deadline) Neuvirth for anything from a 2 to a 4 (Most likely a 3rd rounder) Meszaros/Benoit fo what ever. Pick up some waivers guys. Start Hackett and Lindback

Who knows, he might be in on it since he's slated to be the future captain. Think about it...

It tells me about a 2nd rounder, nothing else. Stewart + a 2nd may get us a 1st though
-
Not worth it for us I'll do Stewart + NYI 2nd for 1st + a 4th or something small
-
I might be tempted as long as its NYI's 2nd and their 2015 1st
-
Not trading Girgs for RoR
-
Not bad we may have to make it the other 1st this year rather than our 2nd but I think we could get it done.

As long as Zadorov and Risto pan out, Myers was expendable. Bogo gives us that long term, lock down D-man and high quality guy who's more D-first in his mentality. Playoffs come around and both teams win in the trade, as long as Zads and Risto are great, since Myers gives WPG a big man with great skating while already having plenty of hitting D-men. Buffalo gets a moderately effect offensive zone D-man who plays a gritty shut down D-man role which we didn't have yet. Plus he gives Zadorov a mentor, seeing as they play a very similar style of game. Plus Myers and Bogo switching locales give them a fresh start.

Myers wasn't really meant for 26 minutes a night, he's not that type of player really. You want him playing about 18 to 22 so he's fresh enough to jump into the play. Bogo is a more classic style D-man thus his style lends to time eating. Plus he seems to be a great calming influence, Benoit has looked a world better with Bogo as his partner. Refs were awful, Flyers were jerks, and the arena let freaking birds in!

I love how I'm now the evil tradesman, I guess I'd rather that my tile than something worse.

Will Eichel be an immediate contributor?
thewookie1 replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Aud Club
I think, barring major injuries Eichel - About 20g 40a McDavid - About 20g 45a I'm seeing about 65 to 75 goals from the first line of Moulson-McEichel-Kane About 45 to 55 from a hypothetical Ennis-Reinhart-Williams line About 35 to 45 from Foligno-Girgs-Gionta And 20 or so from the combination of Delauries, Kaleta, McCormick, Larsson, Flynn, etc Thats about 165 to 195 goals from our forwards. Defensively Gorges - 1 goal Weber - 1 goal Pysyk - 2 goals Bogosian - around 4 to 6 Zadorov + Risto = almost 20 I'd guess So about 20 to 30 goals by the D 185 to 225 total +5 goals by AHL subs 190 to 230 in goals for. Which last year would place us where the NYI were in Goals Not great, but far better than what we have presently. -
Then yes, something screwed up dolphin

look into it, that is most likely the culprit
