Supposedly Buffalo is in the bidding war for O'Reilly, any thoughts. Girgs, Myers, Zadorov, and Risto would be untouchables to me. -

Tyler Toffoli 9g 8a in 33 games. However in his last 11 games he hasn't had a point. He put up 2g and 4a in 12 playoff games last year. Scouting Report: http://www.nhl.com/ice/draftprospectdetail.htm?dpid=2277&tab=scr -
"Increasingly Substantiated BS" rumor thread- 2014 Edition

If we trade Moulson without getting him to telling us he'd resign here I can't see Miller resigning. Toffoli & marginal prospect for Moulson and the Sabres 2nd rounder might work. I wouldn't be willing to take players with 3 to 4 year wait periods. I'd want at maximum players who'll be able to play for us in the 2015-2016 season along with "McDavid." Any later and you start making the Sabres, Bills 2.0 which = continuous rebuild. -
You know if Edm drafts #1 as long as we have #2 we're fine. To be honest if the Oilers take Reinhart, that actually gives us the ability to ransom off Ekblad and still get a top 5 pick. Regardless, I'd trade players for 2015 1st rounders not 2014 1st rounders.

Grigorenko refuses (but then) goes back to Juniors

Spot on assessment on Girgs having an uncommon mindset, aside from his personality likely being different; I believe his past hockey experience have helped. Girgs, playing for the Latvian WJC team, always was against better, stronger, more skilled opponents than he and his team. Thus, while it took him sometime to get running, in the AHL he slowly improved more and more as he grew his confidence and didn't fear the superior players to the point of crippling his play. He then conquered that fear and went to the NHL and started again, however he caught wind quicker since although the NHL is far more skilled than the AHL, the people playing aren't much different in size or personality/style of play. Grigo however has always been one of the best wherever he played, he never had to deal with a truly completely superior team to his. Then he came to the NHL and was shell-shocked, plus got so little time to play that if he had screwed up, it would fester in his mind and fear would grow. Furthermore I'm glad to see the kid come to his senses, I hope he tears up the Q without mercy and gets that much needed confidence back. In this case, hopefully he woke up from his dream world of the NHL being handed to him with a silver platter. -

Not to be a conspiracy theorist but........ What if all of this was planned from the start? As in Buffalo told Grigo to refuse to go to the Q in an attempt to force the Ramparts to release him. They have tried in the past to get him into the AHL, so who's to say this isn't another ploy to pull that off? At the very least in order to make a point against the ridicules agreement that's screwing over Grigs. Think about it, if the Sabres respond by telling him he isn't ready for the NHL, and he then replies that he's too good for the Q they can literally play out live why the rule is bad for the NHL. Especially if Grigo suggests going to the KHL, which obviously the NHL doesn't want anyone to do. -
I meant one of the random 1st rounders we'd get, not our pick. The only way I draft Ekblad over Reinhart is if Myers is fetching us Eberle or better in a trade.

If we can convince Ott and/or Moulson to be traded and come back that'd be a plus. Miller I'm on he fence on what to do, but it looks like it'll be a trade. Thus Ott for someone's 1st rounder in 2015 and a 3rd rounder this year or (b) a 1st rounder in 2014 Moulson for a 2015 1st rounder and a 3rd rounder this year prospect or two. Miller for a 2015 1st rounder and something. See if Tallinder, Sulzer, or even McBain is worth something to someone. If option (b) is taken then trade that 1st rounder to Ottawa for their 1st rounder next year and a prospect Murray likes. During the 2014 draft, aside from grabbing an elite player at the top like Reinhardt, aggressively try to move up with the extra 2nds or even package a couple together to move up into the 1st round again, then trade it to someone willing to give you their 1st rounder next year. In the end, we could have 4 to 5+ 1st rounders in the 2015 draft. Then not only do the odds help us, but in the event we get #2 and want McDavid we'd have ample ammunition to move up.

Hired: Tim Murray, GM and Craig Patrick, Advisor

You know, someone should send this to Pegula somehow. -
Sergei :) Also playing is Alexander Radulov who jumped ship from the Predators.

It wasn't the loss that set Roy off, it was the cow refs
-
Wouldn't that be Gerbe pretty much. A bottom 6 forward with some scoring ability.
-
I would wait a bit longer before making a deal for Edm's 1st rounder regardless. My hope for 2 Top 5 picks would be so we could maybe get Reinhardt and Nylander/ great another winger. Essentially setting ourselves up with a couple goal scorers for next year. Mostly its because I doubt we'll get McDavid, he'll go where the NHL wants him to go like Crosby.
-
Do you guys think it would be possible to gain a 2nd 1st rounder that's in the top 5 at the deadline? As it stands now: Sabres: hardest pick to get  Panthers: Doubt it Oilers: Not sure what they'd want in a player but they have said that they'd like to trade it for a top D-Man (I wonder if Ehrhoff + a prospect would suffice) Islanders: We sorta of have it already, or they hold it and we get next year's pick. Flames: I doubt it Blue Jackets: I could see it but I doubt they would if their still 6th from the bottom. Flyers: Who knows?

New President of Hockey Operations, Presser @10:30 a.m.

I agree, LalalalaLafontaine by what we know may be perfect to help guide Pegula. Pegula is a fan and billionaire, not a hockey guy. But now rather than hiding behind Regier's experience he's putting his money into a proven competitor with great leadership skills. Unlike Sakic, Lafontaine has a good deal of management experience already thus hopefully aiding in the rebuild's potency. -

I think Pegula could see the writing on the wall about Regier finally, decided he needed to save face and hire a fan favorite in Lafontaine. Then Patty probably demanded he get a true rebuilding of the staff to his desire. -

Random head? Holy **** this is amazing, Christmas came early this year! -
We may have lost, but again we've seen the Bills keep themselves in a game they weren't supposed to be in. Impressive that we are still fighters with our 3rd string QB, who could be said is the 4th stringer if you include Kolb. What doomed us, aside from the pick 6 and fumble 6 was when Woods left the game. Without him, we ended up having to use our speed receivers as #2s and one of them fumbled the ball. Chandler had a rough game today, I wonder if Tuel's throws feel different enough from our other QBs to throw off his timing?

Luke Adam sounds as if he's finally turned the corner.

Is there any chance that trades will be made before deadline?

I wouldn't given up Pysyk regardless. He's too important for our future -

Miller may be willing to sign there, he'd be in the same division as all the west coast teams meaning at very least he'll spend 15 games in CA teams. Plus with him the Oilers would likely become a playoff team. Why is everyone so obsessed with trading Ehrhoff? He's our only minute eating defender atm. I would want Eberle or Nugent-Hopkins, not Yakopov. Yakopov is supposedly a partier and the last thing we need is a Russian Roy. Plus then we run the risk that one of our cornerstone players will use the KHL as blackmail at contract time. Lastly, Edm is desperate for a goalie. With how they've been, they'd likely give Miller 6 or 7 mil a year to stay where I doubt he get that much from anyone else. -

To be honest only the 1st one has a chance in theory
