This would be his second job, correct? Maybe he could come back better in theory; I just want information and reasons to like him. +1 though with him liking the Clash
-
Nope, that's the point :flirt:
-
Give me reason to trust him with the young players and to get the most out of them. The recent Olympics really ruined my opinion of him, and the Penguins inept playoff runs haven't helped. Could we still get Richardson as an Assistant Coach to work with the D?
-
I really don't want him as Head Coach of the Sabres but I'd be all aboard him being an Assistant. What scares me is his inexperience in head-coaching Part of my coaching requirements would be the ability to get Zadorov to grow up, and I'm stuck in terms of Richardson since he doesn't have much coaching clout so we'd need to rely on his playing career as reason for Nikita to respect him.

Chiarelli: Ring, ring, ringGMTM: Hello Chiarelli: Hey Tim, I'm calling to make you an offer. GMTM: Hmmm, alright. Chiarelli: We'd like to trade for your 2nd overall pick this year. GMTM: Okay then, what are you offering? Chiarelli: A 1st, Nugent, Hopkins, and our 1st next year. GMTM: As in the 1st overall? Chiarelli: No, I was meaning the Pittsburgh pick. GMTM: No thank you, Chiarelli: What if I give you more? GMTM: Unless this "more" is McDavid with a Christmas bow on his head, I refuse to trade the number 2 overall.

He's had far more success, on paper, than Richardson and is a seasoned coach; but would likely be willing to have Richardson on the staff.

I'd take Maclean with Richardson as the Assistant Coach

Something tells me Babcock wanted Toronto all along and decided last moment to reach out to the Leafs even while he'd given Buffalo brass no reason to think he wasn't coming here. Then he comes back this morning with another offer from Toronto and Buffalo merely flips him off, business version, and tells him to go to hell. Playing teams against one another is business, what it seems he did is rather shady and underhanded.
-
Babcock is not only dead to me but I hope ill will to the Maple Leafs even more now. I hope they all burn in hell!
-
Way too expensive to be feasible, few to no stadiums are capable of making the switch.
-
You'd think practicing with Crosby for years would have given Malkin a bit more patience in terms of playing talent greater than his own but I guess it did not. I've got to say, its a good sign when your 18 year old intended pick can legitimately frustrate an high end, experienced, Cup winner to the point he elbows him in the head.

Eichel looked visiblely better than most on USA in those last 5 minutes, stealing pucks from Malkin, literally wrestling with him in the corner on another occasion, putting pucks on sticks and attempting to drive the play forward. If anything I can at least get the feeling he is the type who plays better in bad situations.

I didn't mean all of the Nelson trade pieces for Lewis How's Eichel doing thus far?
-
Yup, graduating today so I was up all night nervous. Also let me rephrase my idea. Lewis would be great in the event McCormick retires due to his blood clots. He'd be a very effective 4th liner with a lot of playoff experience. I want as many rings in the locker room
-
I'd offer the NYI's back their 1st and 2nd for Nelson and a conditional 3rd next year. They have 2 3s, 1 is already ours why not the other too. The conditions would be that Nelson gets at least 40 pts no additional pick would be included. Or you could always try NYI's 1st and our 2016 3rd for Nelson with the 3rd becoming a 2nd rounder if Nelson puts up 45+ pts. We could throw in the 2015 4th if it helps too. If we can pull that off I'd then see if we can merely grab Lewis from the Kings who has 1 year left on his 1.5 mil contract. He wouldn't play with Eichel but he'd bring more familiarity and Cup Rings into the locker room.

Don't increase net sizes Remove the trapezoid Shrink goalie pads Actually call holding and hooking again Get rid of the instigator penalty and that jersey tuck rule Legit Boarding calls get a double minor

That may be true, but you also have to factor in all the comments people within hockey say about both of them. Babcock is known for being one of the most hard working coaches whom has the ability to coach young and old while somehow always keeping Detroit playoff bound. Byslma is known to be a good motivator but his ability to strategize is questionable. Olympics wise Babcock's victories aren't huge pluses since it was with a stacked Canadian team both times, but getting all those stars to play nice has to count for at least something. As for Bylsma's US team in the past Olympics, for a guy known to be a motivator was rather sad in the Bronze medal game. Really though my biggest concern with Bylsma is based on the tendencies of the rosters he fielded. The problem is we don't know to what extent was it Bylsma, and to what extent it was the GM's fault. Pittsburgh after they won their Cup seemed to rely on Crosby and Malkin too much. Rather than them being the key pieces to the skater core, they were the core. Chicago is a far more effectively crafted roster, while having a very similar situation in having a pair of elite players, yet while Pittsburgh actually has a generational player, they've done far less than Chicago overall. My best guess as to why that is, stems from whom each of them play with. Aside from Chris Neil who was traded for and then away, they seem overly obsessed with the effect Crosby has on a middle to great player. Pittsburgh needs an Evander Kane-like power forward or a Marian Hossa-two way type of player to play with Crosby, not random guys whom become good due to Crosby. Hell, Matt Moulson would of been a nice pick up for them since he's not purely a product of Tavares. What Pittsburgh seems to do is the following.... If Crosby is worth 100pts and you need 200 pts for a great 1st line, they merely find two 50pts players and call it a day. Rather than going out and finding another top 3 who can actually help Crosby some too thus making a far better line in the end. I don't know though who's at fault for this.
-
It seems like he was sort of coasting through the 1st and 2nd only using bursts of speed when needed but when they wen tdown 3-0 he seemed to literally say, "Hell with that" and started really playing and looking like a superstar.
-
Give them Carrier, Nevins/Varone and the rest all day!
-
Eichel continues his trend of getting better game after game. Now has a point to show for his efforts. Did well in the faceoff dot and showed flashes of his signature style of puck handling.
-
I think we could hit 80 to 85 to be honest, playoffs still quite a long shot but an enjoyable season regardless. Kane 30g Eichel 20g Ennis 25g Girgs 20g Moulson 20g Reinhart ? 10-20g varying on his time he spends in Buffalo Grigo 15g I can see it With even just 5 of the 7 we're head over heels better.
-
I have to say, I'm impressed that after one game he seems to already be getting used to IIHF level hockey. Granted this was Norway and a weakened Finnish team, but what better way to get him into the swing of things.
-
Hmm, anyone know how I could watch today's game live?
-
Chadd Cassidy just got fired by Buffalo, now we need 2 coaches
-
I still trust GMTM, but I fear a larger risk in the AHL coach route. Plus I'm tired of always being 2nd, Eichel to McDavid(Even if they are equal we still are 2nd), Leino to Richards(granted he didn't do great either) and so on.
