  1. I projected 29-48-5 63pts with us winning every home game against NYI and Toronto
  2. I think Ott and Callahan will come to Buffalo, at very least we'll get rumors of Moulson to return but he'll end up elsewhere.
  3. I'm not all that sure why you're so terrified of that lineup...... who is going to be the big goal scorer? The first line is just what we had between Nolan's arrival and the Deadline, the second line potentially could do well, and beside Stewart no one in the bottom 6 will hit 15 without substantial PP time. I'm all for losing to get to McDavid, but at very least I want a team that's competitive and entertaining to watch. And if they're doing 10th place pace, just trade Stafford and Stewart. If we want the Girgs and Ristos of the team to get better, we have to at very least give them a tad more competitive of a roster, not enough to go to the playoffs, but one that won't be 10 points from the next nearest team with the fewest goals in NHL history.
  4. I take Reinhart as long as he's there at two, I'd take Ekblad if Reinhart goes #1 unless we can get a King's ransom from Calgary to move down to 4. At 4 I'd pick whosever left between Bennett or Draisaitl. Even with that said however I'd really just like to take Reinhart at 2
  5. My proposal for the Campbell salary dump would be: Brian Campbell, the 32nd overall, and a 2nd and Pitt's 3rd rounder in 2015 for the 39th overall (Winn pick) and a 2015 5th rounder. So we take on salary for moving up 7 slots in the 2nd round along with picking up some picks in 2015.
  6. I'll take all 3, Orpik and Shawn Thorton and trade Ehrhoff. That'd be a group of good characters for our many youngsters to learn from. 1 for each offensive line, Ellis captains Rochester and Orpik would bring a vet leader for the D. Get 1 more vet Dman and then fill the roster with whosever left so we can limit the amount of youngsters on this losing franchise. Plus all the forwards would be of use for the next 5 years or so thus helping the transition. Moulson-Ennis-Stafford Hodgson-Girgs-Callahan Ott-Foligno-Stewart Thorton-Flynn-Kaleta I can't quite figure out what to do with Stewart or Stafford in the end, we just have so much riffraff that trying to set up a solid group of vets is a tad difficult. The other three players I see future problems with are Hodgson, Foligno, and Kaleta since in the assumption we take Reinhart and "McDavid" I can't fit those 3 + the other two comfortably. Moulson-McDavid- Girgs? Ennis-Reinhart-(Stafford/Stewart) Ott- Hodgson- Callahan Thorton-Foligno-Flynn Kaleta Risto-Zadorov Myers-Pysyk McCabe-Weber/Orpik
  7. Send Ehrhoff to Anaheim with a 2nd rounder for the 10. Use a 2 and a compliance buyout to acquire a 20s 1st. Offer Calgary the 10 and 2? for the 4th overall and grab the remaining top 4 guy. Or just keep 10 and 2? and take Barbashev or Ehlers and Demko unless you think he could fall to our remaining 2nd rounder.
  8. Are you certain, because I know you can't sign the guy you bought out, but if Buffalo were to buy him out wouldn't we then be the team unable to resign him? Could you send me a link to this info?
  9. I'd buyout Leino with a normal buyout then use our two on other teams screw ups. I have a question though, if we traded for Hossa from Chicago and bought him out with a compliance buyout, would Chicago be allowed to resign Hossa? If yes, I'd give Stan Bowman a call; Hossa's recapture is worse than Ehrhoffs by the simple fact his contract goes well into his 40's
  10. Ok here's my idea: Trade our 2nd rounder to Pittsburgh for the 22nd overall and Rob Scuderi(cap dump) Trade Winnipeg's 2nd rounder and our 3rd rounder to San Jose for the 20th overall and Havlat (cap dump) Trade Ehrhoff, Buf's 5th rounder, and the Pittsburgh pick to Anaheim for Ottawa's 10th pick, and Anaheim's 24th overall and a conditional 4th that could become as high as a 2nd in the 2015 draft. That'd give you 2,10, 20, and 24
  11. I'd never trade Myers in the division, it certainly didn't work for Ottawa when they let Chara go to Boston
  12. May I ask why is Myers still being shopped by half the forum? Also, I don't care what Ottawa would give me for Myers (aside Karlsson), I wouldn't trade him within the division and preferably the conference if possible.
  13. Not only do I love the McDavid pick :) but I love how in this scenario we're back at the podium by #5
  14. They both could be busts as well...... I can comprehend risking a 12th overall on a questionable player with high potential but not at 2nd overall
  15. No Drasital please, I don't want another Grigo.......
  16. Orpik would come here to play at home, that would be his reasoning. Callahan, even if overpriced, will be useful for the locker room I'd be ok with standing pat if it weren't for our need to bring on salary, the need in getting rid of Leino, and the UFA period isn't what it used to be. We'll need at least a couple years worth of UFAs and I'd rather start sooner than later.
  17. Get Ott and Callahan for forward leadership. Bring back Tallinder, and get Orpik to a 1 year deal at 6 mil to help reach the floor. Then if he wishes to play for a playoff team we can always take 50% of his contract and trade him before resigning him. The only player I'd sign who would likely effect the tank a bit would be Matt Moulson, who alone I don't think will win us to many more games but would give our young forwards someone to work with who's a consistent competitor. I'd be open to shopping Ehrhoff if we can get a ransom for him since he appears unhappy to be here.
  18. The idea that it was also partially due to his country's problems may not be all that farfetched but its likely the fact Burmistrov kept slashing at him ad going after his hands throughout the game. I don't think he meant to "hurt" him but rather tell him to F off. Remember the reason many like Bennett is due to the fact he's willing to do the same, we want a few physical borderline dirty players. Not the cheapshot kind but the self-controlled kind who can play a clean game still.
  19. You know that completely insane right? It's like saying that a murderer shouldn't be hated but rather only the bystanders nearby. Do I hate that no one did anything, yes, but I also hate the aggressors for their dirty action. I respect teams that deserve respect, Boston won't until they reel in their ridicules behavior and have to pay for their actions.
  20. Even if not, he'll be an elite 3rd line C with a bit of a scoring touch. Even in that case he'd likely be a beast in the playoffs just based on his skill set and style.
  21. Hodgson got two more goals this morning he's up to 6g1a now in 5gms
  22. Anyone keeping up with this? Girgs has 1g 0a in 4gms 0 +/- Latvia actually is 3-1 thus far. Hodgson is leading Team Canada with 4g 1a in 4gms +3 +/- Myers has 0g 2a in 4gms and a +2 +/- McCabe is 0g0a and 0 +/- in his 4gms
  23. :flirt: Typically I just give somewhat farfetched trade ideas. To be perfectly honest, I'm not sure why I just didn't put this in the "What would make you give up the tank" thread seeing as that was what I was trying to get at. Would these stats, regardless of their outrageous magnitude make you still feel ok if the season ended with us ending up with the 9th or 10th pick. Zadorov 76gm 22g 40a 62p <----- Random spectacular surprise performance Girgs 79gm 25g 50a 75p <------- Overachieving our expectations Myers 70gm 12g 35a 47p <-------- Returns to Rookie season-esc form Hodgson 72gm 22g 35a 57p <------- Actually somewhat realistic Ennis 74gm 24g 33a 57p <------- Actually somewhat realistic Stafford 61gm 20g 35a 55p as Sabre, traded for 1st rounder + <----- Hopeful due to contract year + better output under Nolan Grigs 15gm 3g 4a 7p (Plays solid games as a call up) <----- again potentially realistic Sam B or R Get at least 50p in his rookie season <------ Shot in the dark based on other top picks Well passed out would mean I couldn't of typed it  Who bought dynamite? :P
