GDT: Buffalo @ Winnipeg, 3:00 pm est, 1-10-2016

Kane's unselfish assist is a bigger FU to Winnipeg than even a goal. Girgs looked back to being ok again, Eichel looked alright as well. Reinhart woohoo! -

Can someone please see why the team rarely plays energized and no one is ever where passes are. Bench Girgs, he's my ###### favorite player but bench him a game and tell Moulson to retire. We shouldn't pull the goalie, we do worse with 6 than with 5. Bylsma grow a pair and tell the rough guys to just start hacking at their knees, I'm haddit with being abused with no penalties. And when you do, if you have to take a slash make sure it hurts. Sabres Lineup: Number 90 Ryan O'Reilly! Number 15 Jack Eichel! Number 88 Jamie McGinn! Number 23 Sam Reinhart! and usually number 55 Rasmus Ristolainen -
You may want that checked out, can't possibly be healthy :)

Never, whoever we play is assured to be at very least on a 4 game winning streak..... -
Waivers: BRANDON GORMLEY COL Anyone interested?
-
Jamie McGinn would likely be a well liked rental to a great many teams come deadline day, At 50% retained he'd be only a 1.475 cap hit who plays very well with with good centers. Not to mention he may return in the off season thus being even better for us. Teams that could be interested: CHI (1st no 2nd), BOS (2 1sts, 2 2nds not theirs) and any other playoff borderline team. McGinn(50%) could fetch anywhere from a low 1st to a high 3rd varying on his play going into the Deadline. Ideal type of move: McGinn(50%) & 3rd for other team's 1st (CHI strikes me as potentially a good spot to pull this off, if they can get the cap space) Hopefully at least: McGinn(50%) for other team's 2nd Other potential candidates: Mike Weber - UFA - 1.66mil (50% = 833k) Great price for a depth D-man = Anywhere from a 3rd to a 5th (Comes down to play and the market in general)(Slightly higher due to age) Carlo Colaiacovo - UFA - 900k (50% = 450k) Similar to Weber just slightly different package of skills. = 4th to a 6th (Lower than Weber due to age) Johan Larsson - RFA - 800k (50% = 400k) Potentially skilled bottom 6 forward with a bit of depth position identity crisis. Good at pestering the other team and playing dirty = 2nd to 4th (Not exactly sure, I get many different values for him from other boards and I myself am torn on his spot on the team going forward) David Legwand - UFA - 3mil (50% = 1.5mil) Old guy, been through a lot, might still be useful for depth on a playoff team. = 4th or lower (Granted Nashville might give us a 1st if we ask nicely :) ) Cody Franson - 3.325mil + 1 year (50% = 1.65mil) Powerplay specialist with a year to go on his contract. = Unknown at this time (The market could say anything from a 1st to a 4th, matters greatly on his play and desperation)

Puljujarvi or Matthews would make for one hell of a nice winger for Eichel. Puljujarvi would give us a Finn-tacular lineup while Matthews would give us dual American ICBMs Sign me up if we are lucky enough.

One thing that is very true is that Luongo owns the Sabres and Jagr is a Sabre killer. So the fact they beat us isn't all that surprising. Oh and someone put Moulson and practically 2/3rds the team on a milk carton. They are missing! O'Reilly's goal was nice thanks to an unreal pass by Eichel. -

Buffalo is just a cursed city..... no matter what we do we are damned to hell in sports. How is it that this season we have practically hit every team when they're hot since the beginning of November, aside from Vancouver. We lost two lotteries.... We always have crippling injuries when our team is good and few when our team sucks..... Had we not tanked we'd be eternal middling purgatory, now we have some stars in the making, but yet our team's luck is of 12 black cats under a ladder breaking mirrors...... Playoffs? I'd take Play Offense at this point..... I always calm after a little while, and I know this is going to be rough watching their growing pains but how in God's name can we not get a freaking bounce ever! Guy shoots it in on us it will bounce odd, then ricochet to their player who will score..... for us it either is merely grabbed or hits 12 legs and a whistle before finding an opposing player to be taken by. Every goalie who plays us looks great, no matter if our offense is clicking or not..... Our goalies look like Hasek unless the goal would actually mean something, then they're that guy from Columbus.... Risto will sign for 8x8mil then explode in a water canoe accident, Girgs will sign and flounder before going to some other team and becoming ZemGod again.... Eichel will go to Boston in 5 years at a hometown discount and Edmonton will win the lottery and get Auston Matthews..... Honestly...... Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah Vent over.....hopefully -
If you have a handicap sticker thingie, you can park right next to that HSBC building across from the arena. You need to go to the one surrounded by metal fences #2 from either end of that street.

40 Years Ago Today The Sabres Beat The Soviet Wings

We had quite a good record against the Soviet teams. -
In a good way or a bad way? Drouin doesn't fit GMTM's model thus why I won't give much more than my previous proposal. Anyone know Drouin's character?
-
Nope, draft is in Buffalo this year. Plus the chance for Matthews is still possible.
-
I would accepted a loss to the Cowboys, but beating the Jets was well worth the pick drop.
-
Very true, but I'd guess most teams will low ball them for starters.
-
I wonder if Larsson and a 2nd & a 3rd would work? Seeing as they are dealing from a untenable position.
-
I'd send Tampa Baptiste and our 2nd for 2016 and 2017 for Drouin If they want Larsson & Baptiste instead I might do that.
-
I think McNabb is a good D-man, but more 3-4 than 1-2. The fact he plays with Doughty makes him a quality 1-2 since he can focus on his game versus the whole ice. If Doughty was injured I'd guess he'd look rather overwhelmed until Muzzin was moved up. Then they'd be defensively sound but far less deadly offensively. That being said I'd take him in a heartbeat.

2016--- Name your second half season predictions.
thewookie1 replied to woods-racer's topic in The Aud Club
That's what I was inferring, with O'Reilly here long term I could see him being very interested in getting the opportunity to play in the playoffs, improve the Sabres, then return in the offseason. I doubt he'd get much in a contract with his injury history coupled with his stats never being awesome like those of Moulson's past. -
I get the sense that like last year the top pick is going to have his home team and Buffalo high on his list. So McDavid's Toronto and Buffalo will be Arizona and Buffalo for Matthews. He may also be happy with Philly due to the Briere connection. Juolevi-Risto a Finnish defensive pair or one of those wingers for Eichel, that's a hard choice.
