I don’t honestly have an issue with Dan. He isn’t good as a radio PbP guy for sure but on TV he’s fine. Ray and Dan get caught up in conversation a bit too often but with how this team has been I’m not exactly all that surprised. Sadly, gone are the days of RJ’s ilk and the old HNIC guys. Most newer school announcers are more akin to Dan because announcers nowadays are trained more to give a dictation on what’s happened whereas old announcers gave a more story telling feel as it happened.

Pretty much this, his hang up was he’s small. He effectively is Cole Caufield all over again in regards to being a Top 5 player falling due to size. Benson needs to work on his skating speed but brings a full 200ft game which is incredibly rare for an 18 year old to personally value that kind of play like he does.

I just don’t see a spot that makes sense with Trouba since he isn’t exactly a solid defensive stalwart. Dahlin is our Top RD He could play with any of Power, Muel or Byram and have success. Clifton is a solid 3RD, he showed as much once he got to play on the right side at the proper minutes last year. He was a failure as a 2RD but is still a good player as a 3RD abeit slightly overpaid. Trouba at this point of his career is a 3RD much like Clifton only older and making far more money. If his analytics were flipped and he was an offensive black hole but a solid defensive player; he’d be a solid pick up for Byram or Power as 2LD. However his stats would say he’d be arguably better with a Muel type player himself and that doesn’t exactly fix anything. He’s a bulkier Jokiharju with less finesse but more physicality but nothing else.

Injuries are limited Thompson and Cozens return to form Tuch keeps doing his thing but has more goals again Quinn and Peterka continue their steady improvements and Quinn stays healthy The new bottom 6 brings a more balanced and nuanced attack The PP is average UPL continues to play like a solid to good starter and Levi/Reimer are solid backups We don't need a miracle, but we do need some luck

My prediction, if Benson starts on Line 2, he’ll take off in Ruff’s system like a duck to water. He’ll effectively continue off his strong back half of last year while now playing in a system even more suited to his hard working mindset. He’ll start hot, likely trail off and get put on the 3rd line by December then light up again in February when the lights get hotter and every game means more. My guess would be about 45 to 50pts probably in the realm of 17 goals and 28 assists

They want Muel + Krebs + ??? in the trade for Farabee which effectively ends that conversation. Ducks fans want absurd returns for Zegras whom I personally have very little interest in for a myriad of reasons I have mentioned before. If your not crushing yourself with acquisition cost like with the Mcleod deal; I do like the lineup you have.

Benson makes us more likely to win a Cup period. Trading him for any of the listed isn't going to magically make the team a Cup contender and when we do reach that point they'll be in the their mid-30s whereas Benson will be hitting his prime.

Everything shows that Quinn is very capable of 30+ goals with a full heathy season. I’m not going to deposit any assumption he’ll get 80 pts though. Give me 60 pts from both him and Peterka and we are likely looking very good.

It’s hard to exactly describe Eichel going to Vegas in either context. He was both a cherry on top of an already great team as well as either their best or at least 2nd best player. It was akin to mess of Lego bricks needing a specific piece to build the entire thing while the pieces alone could still be great nonetheless. Eichel put them over the top by being a larger base rather than a taller peak piece Frankly I don’t know if I even make that trade, I’m not all that high on Farabee

Zegras as a whole gives me pause between his personality and injury history. I’d have to expect both the medical and Ruff a-ok were involved

According to Chad, Ehlers isn't. Effectively he's being "offered" in name only because the ask is akin to 2 1sts and Kulich + Östlund for un-extended Ehlers.

Personally I have no interest in Zegras; I just don't trust him to work hard.

I wonder if some of the sourness to Savoie was caused by the rumored night out he had with Krebs before his 1st NHL game. Not that it made him expendable but may have hurt his stock with the team seeing as Benson just blew past him when they likely expected the opposite.

According to Chad's article, Ehlers isn't going to be traded by WPG. Effectively they've been doing the same thing with him that they did with Hellebuyck and Schieffle of marketing him for trade and then asking absurd demands. Not really, he's a solid 3W

Supposedly he's on the market and has been most of the summer due to cap issues. I'm unsure as to how or why but I've seen his name brought up all summer
