  1. The only luck we get is bad luck or no luck. Block the shot and it goes right to another Avs player.
  2. These refs just letting Colorado commit garbage
  3. Zucker draws a call after a hefty hit
  4. The first one I’m unsure how it even made it based on Benson’s shot of the puck. Avs guy got away with a rather absurd slash on Benson’s stick on the 2nd one. Kid is a rat for sure.
  5. Love Zucker, guy has been a solid signing from Game 1 to Game 39 thus far; rarely have we seen that
  6. I was meaning in the sense we went to the Finals to be honest; I was 6 years old in 99' lol
  7. Such a weird team 3Ws then 13Ls only to follow that with 3Ws again. UPL stole us a game, good to see and hopefully they play up to Dallas
  8. I still don’t agree on the effort point to be perfectly honest; I see much of it as paralysis through analysis. I see them working hard but not smart or standing around trying to figure out what they should be doing. That said I do think as the streak continued, their effort seemed to more quickly evaporate if the game started to get away or generally bad puck luck piled up. Granted it could have been all of the above with a cascading effect. Thompson starts over thinking the game, Tuch starts trying to do to much and that uncertainty and confusion trickles down to other players who see indecision and begin to doubt themselves and thus lose their confidence and stop playing hard because of it. If you don’t trust yourself to make the play then you’re unlikely to play fast because you fear the consequences of failure. So you slow down to ease the pressure, well that means your teammates slow down to adapt and thus a vicious cycle starts. in some regard it feels like Tuch took each loss on the chin before almost mentally breaking. At around game 6 or so he started yelling at players off and on going off for intermissions. His skating and skills seemed to diminish and he looked dead during post game. I’d almost say he’s too much like us fans. He takes games extremely personally regardless of his play/effort and then tries to fix it himself. And then all but blows a gasket with imaginary hoops he believes will help. It’s the double edged sword of playing for the team and coach you grew up loving; in victory you have even more confidence and skill whereas the opposite also is true upon multiple losses. Essentially simplifying his game during a losing streak runs counterintuitive to his desire to help lift the entire team immediately.
  9. Rasmussen doesn't exactly have great stats nor analytics as well as 4x3mil+ contract. It may be solely a look to shakeup their roster. Jokiharju and Lafferty for Petry and Rasmussen
  10. Well last time Ruff had a Rasmussen it worked rather well.
  11. Tuch was, like multiple others, gripping their sticks too tight and slumping. Also like I said, effort wasn't exactly the issue during the streak; rather, they played stupid hockey while their top guys strangled their sticks as the pucks seemingly fought our guys.
  12. On the whole Tuch captaincy thing; Tuch is the team's heart while Dahlin is the brain. The 13 game losing streak had plenty of effort but far too much stupidity. When Tuch is out they look listless more often than not. Ironically they are very akin to our old Co-captain set up with Drury and Briere
  13. Then stay silent about it; there’s zero assurance they’ll change anything regardless of finish
  14. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays all of you!
  15. Yes and No; I highly doubt we lose 13 straight with him in every night but I don't think he magically carries the team either. He is however a very integral piece to the defense. Thank God, we finally won
  16. Thompson must be strangling his stick tonight
  17. I've seen it before once or twice but it was far more direct situations. One of them was a two on one in a game where #2 guy high sticked the defenseman as he got to the net and cut the guy as the goal was scored. Refs didn't see it, but a linesman saw the stick get high. In this case the high stick really wasn't an egregious slashing of the face, honestly I'm confused as to how it drew blood to begin with, and wasn't integral to the goal being scored. Couple that with at least two non-calls on that 4 minute PK with one involving Toronto tripping Malenstyn thus directly leading to the 2-0 goal is outright lunacy.
  18. He went on a tirade about a number of topics right after he posted this.
  19. Thing is the ref didn't see it and Tanev didn't stop playing.
  20. Well it is and it isn't. What matters is who would be getting the goal. Honestly I really hope Ovi's record breaking goal is called back
  21. Like honestly, this team sucks; and need help seriously but even moments of brightness seem to get smothered immediately by either the league or the team itself.
  22. It's maddening to me how no matter if its the Sabres or the Bills; Buffalo will always get screwed by the refs in any call that has even an inch of wiggle room. Guy hits UPL's glove thus literally preventing a save, that's fine; but our guy touching his skate or stick and its obviously goalie interference regardless of the chance the goalie even had at making the save. It's always ruled "logically" when the result hurts us and when it helps us, well we need to rule by the letter. It's absolutely mind numbing how often it happens.
  23. Absolute BS; I'm sick of this league endlessly ***** us every single time. Either we suck or they shaft us; we never and I mean never get any benefits from this piss poor excuse for a Major Sport
  24. Players stay in Juniors for 1 reason primarily, to learn a 200ft game. Benson already knew how to play a 200ft game. He needed a year or two in Rochester so that he could compete with harder competition and not get over-confident dominating peers.
