At what point are they going to start stating whether these talks are going better or worse than expected?
-
Just to throw another of these out there as I have a few minutes. Van-Hodgson-Pom Foligno-Ennis-Staff Ott/Gerbe-Grig/Ott-Kaleta/Tropp Ellis/Gerbe-McCormick-Tropp/Kaleta/Scott Myers-Sekera Ehrhoff-Sulzer Regehr-Weber Brennan Pardy will be buried in Roch, and while I'd like Ehrhoff to be with Myers he did play well with Sulzer last year and Myers does play pretty well with Sekera. There's no point in listing the goalies, it's obvious.

He'll go with who he sees as a cup contender or who can provide him a decent last couple of years, and playing on Thorntons wing sounds appealing to even me. We don't really have a lot to offer other than cash.

Ok I was with you until this point. Semin is an absolute talent, but he just cant be bothered to use it most of the time. Stafford has some talent and is willing to coast, but his attitude isn't destructive. Just lazy.

At some point you will have to admit you dislike Ryan Miller for no good reason. Posts like this are just saying that anyway. :)
-
I'm not getting involved, I just want to see the quote out of interest. Quote/link please. :)
-
Not sure what your point is.
-
I agree it's a start, but a good signing is a good signing nonetheless :).

1) I hate threads like this. I wish I had the willpower to completely avoid them. 2) Miller is a proven no.1 goalie on a contract that limits him trade wise. 3) Enroth is not a no.1 goalie and I doubt he ever will be. Maybe the next Biron, thats his ceiling imho. Yes I've seen him play. 4) Miller has proven that he can be a game changer. As we've seen in the past you can make it through the playoffs with a great team and an above average goalie as long as that goalie can make that critical save when it matters. That is what separates the Kiprusoffs, Millers and Wards of this world from the Nabakovs and Luongos. 5) Miller is brutally honest and tells it like it is, I respect that. He also seems to hate the media, so I like him for that alone.

Soccer (Football) ~ Everything About The Beautiful Game
RazielSabre replied to Sabres Fan in NS's topic in The Aud Club
Even labelled as a Brit most people in the UK were rooting for Federer, take that for what you will. The resistance to putting goal line tech in Football is just mind boggling though. -
Not even if we game him NHL minimum but enough bonuses to make it $5.5mill per for two seasons? (Yes, I know he'd never go for it and I am, at least partially, joking). NOTE: Does free agency always come to a complete halt about this time? 1 signing since the 7th I think. I can't remember last year and am normally away. Tropp is a lock for a roster spot. Agree about Scott.

Mancari is great news for the Amerks. Regiers keeping his promise after all.
-
You're getting a former 70-80 point player who's in a contract year. You'll do just fine between him and Whitney.
-
Every team has them, Parros, Konopka to name just 2. Boulton is still in the league as well.
-
I love the fact all of you are acting as if this anything but adding a depth tough guy to our system. nothing major, nothing to write home about. God you guys make me laugh.
-
Even Crosby is only 1.4Mill above that, sorry to go against the grain but I'd now only pay Parise about 6-6.5mill.
-
signing the offer sheet isn't normally done for a week or two after them being handed out, not sure why but that seems to be what happens.
-
Excellent breakdown, though it's Myers not Meyers :P. I think keeping Kaleta and Brennan is a good idea though, Brennan is an interesting and unknown quantity and Kaleta has really turned into a great checking line/4th line RW who could even fill in on the PK.
-
No doubt he'll get some interest. I wish him the best. Thats a high salary for a first time starter. Overpaying me thinks. But still, if this kid is as good as everyone makes out then it'll be a good deal for both teams. Lets hope its not Cloutier part 2.
-
I'd go further, neither he nor Regehr had a good year last year. they shut down the opposition ok but even that they were brilliant at. More should be expected from both this season, much more.
-
It's safe to say Regier won't pull any deal on either of our top round picks from this year. I'm not sure I'd want to part with Ennis either even for Ryan.
-
Quite frankly with the depth at centre between us and them he could have played 2nd line C for us, thats not saying much.
-
We'll agree to disagree. His a 4th line C/W with more ability than usual, 3rd line C/W at a stretch imho. As I say, we'll agree to disagree. (I have no doubt we both watched him play last year).
-
I'd agree with Chimera for the 3rd/4th line RW and maybe Ott or someone like him for 4th line C (there are loads of players like him out there). How about Roy and Leopold for Chimera and a 2nd rounder in 2013? We would probably want more from them but I don't know the Caps team well enough atm. Oates in an offensive coach and Roy can put up 70 points and Leopold is a solid 2 way defenseman.

And where are we going to put him, and why do we want to sign a 22 year old who has proven nothing and already wanted more than 1 NHL team were offering. The kid has 'diva' written all over him. He'll get a massive contract and underperform. I think this team has the ability to make it and we have a better chance than quite a lot of the powerhouses, as we saw with the Kings. I know his old and is playing for a chance for the cup but surely thats more reason to sign him. He has the attitude we need.
