Technically they lost around 70 points and gained around 60. Thats not including the 1st, Erixon, or other factors (like Dubinsky's physical factors). I'm not denying your point, just I think they did lose a fair bit from the team. EDIT: Loving the discussion btw!

To expect an 18 year old to be the cornerstone of your team immediately is unrealistic unless they're Crosby, Ovechkin, Mario or Gretzky.

Ok ye I can see what you mean, but I still dont think the comparison is fair, Vanek is an elite sniper and Nash is an elite power forward. They are very different players. I will say I'd rather have Vanek. Nash has far more natural talent but I think his got less of an all round game. Also he could be a complete floater in the playoffs, the is no real sample size to tell.

Anyone remember Pegula's statement that the Amerks are essentially the 'Sabres University'? Thats probably the reason for this, make the team mostly prospects and fill holes with veterans. I don't think Sabre management really care a huge amount about the Amerks success. Again, the term Sabres University is a telling one. :)

PLEASE don't say we're comparing Vanek to Nash? Vanek is a top line LW easily but Nash is one of the top 10 forwards in the league. I do worry about this board. My 2 cents on this trade: Bad for Columbus, good for Rangers. They still won't make the finals next year.

You do realise Adam stopped scoring LONG before he was moved from the top line, right? I mean thats indisputable fact. EDIT: He was taken after a 3 game scoring drought for 1/2 games then put back and dried up no matter who he was with after.

The guy hasn't broken 20 goals, his more like Afingenov than anyone else at the moment. Again, not seen his game (well I have, but I didn't notice him explicitly) but I see nothing that impresses me so far. Leino stick handles really well, Voracek's fast. Great, it's meaningless though. 100% Agreed. I'm still stunned that he was 'surprised' and 'disappointed' at being sent down. He sucked, really really really sucked. He put up good points with our two most dangerous forwards and then completely disappeared. How can you be surprised at being sent packing after that?! HOW?!

And became quite the danger on the PK.

Fair enough, agree to disagree :). Myers first fight, Vanek for the first half of the season, Pominville all season and Ehrhoffs first season are all particular highs for me.

Just to piss off Philly or is there something about Voracek his stat sheet doesn't show, cause at the moment I'd keep Leino over him.

Thank your lucky stars your not UK football fans, you'd have been beaten to ###### by your own fanbase long ago. not personally, most people in this thread. Miller didn't 'deserve' it, Miller didn't 'have it coming'. Our lack of reaction meant Gausted and Roy were chucked off the team ASAP. Thats a good thing, but it's a good thing that came from an awful event. It also meant we only won a handful of games from that point till Christmas. Here is an example, I had an epileptic siezure. I went to the doctors and he said I have to take better care of myself (by which he meant regular sleep and regular meals, with my job that routine is difficult). That seizure also meant I couldn't drive for a year. Now that was a real wake up call, since then my priority has been to make sure I'm in good enough shape to keep my license, even if I have to occasionally fit my job or life around a meal or sleep. My point is that no matter how much better I feel now that event will never me in my 'favourites', I also do not feel I deserved it for occasionally pushing my body before that event. I see the Miller hit the same way. Hope that makes sense guys.
