This lockout is just a secretive marketing ploy to get good ratings for the winter classic. I mean really, how many Americans (and even Canadiens) really want to watch the maple leafs at redwings? But now that I am in need if watching hockey, this game looks enticing.

The only staged fights are the ones that involve players like Andrew Peters and Sean Avery. Usually staged fights occur right off the face off or away from the flow of play. Real fights which occur more often are usually scrums in front of the net, or after the result of a cheapshot or questionable play.

What makes me happy is the fact that we know the Sabres are trying to acquire a star caliber player through trade. Even if it's not Nash or Ryan, this tells me there will be a major trade from someone at least. Hey, Even if We have this roster going into the season, we will still have the trade deadline for Darcy to make deals, and who knows, maybe more top tier players will be available.

Doesn't Suter and Parise signing with the SAME team hurt out chances in getting Ryan or Nash BECAUSE one more team will be in on them due to the two FA's signing on the Wild. This adds Detroit into the mix maybe?

One might argue that the Rangers would've beaten New Jersey and then L.A. to win the cup if they weren't so fatigued. They got that way because of the long season AND the grueling playoffs. If they had 20-40 less games off their hands I think the cup would go to NY this year instead of L.A.

A few times a year I watch the sabres rangers full game 5 just for the memory. Not only was that probably the most exciting, fast paced game from start to finish, but RJ was a classic that game. Whenever I'm amidst a conversation and someone uses the words "who else?" I can't help but shout "who else, who else!" in my Jeanneret voice.

It gives the Sabres a lot less games to lose in the first half of the season like they usually do.

The last few years I bought tickets in the lower 100 level (center ice) for sabres games. I'm thinking that this year I may want to try a different view for a game. I'm looking to buy five 300 level tickets in the same section. My question is, where is the best place I can go to find the cheapest tickets? -Thanks, OPY
