  1. Well it's worked out so well for them so far.... Wonder when the league follows suit and copy their winning ways?
  2. I think it's teams 9-16
  3. It's something like the bottom 8 teams that are currently in the 'play in' round of the playoffs would have a 1:8 chance at the #1 overall pick as they would be the 8 teams eligible for the pick now.
  4. Kim better watch her back, didn't she say she was coming back/staying on in the president role of the team? Are we going to get an announcement next week that she has fired herself from the position?
  5. Or just a few weeks ago when Kim told everyone he wasn't going anywhere? This really makes the Sabres & Kim look like they are running a very well run organization........... Did he say All Lives Matter or the 'N' Word recently? Or did they really not want to sign Laaksonen/Really liked Pilut?
  6. Its going to be interesting because I think its a given that the Cap won't be going up, so alot of teams will be at or over the cap and need to dump instead of signing big names. Alot of upgrades may need to come from within, or players may re-sign with their current teams for less then we would expect because they won't get more elsewhere
  7. Well the good thing is that with Botterill in charge, theres a chance we wont have to worry about seeing playoff hockey around here until everything is back to normal
  8. They probably do Actually its possible that it has, since then they have technology to play games outdoors even in places that may not be seeing temperatures below freezing at the time.
  9. I wonder if they expanded too much into industries they had no experience in? Terry may have known the gas industry well and maybe even just lucky to do what he did and make his money. Then it got him into sports ownership which led to entertainment and real estate/development which are areas currently taking huge hits right now. Running those businesses are probably alot different then running a natural gas fracking company. As for the article, it's not surprising people are viewing it as a negative spin piece because the author has been negative alot in the past about them and the organisation so he doesn't get the benefit of the doubt that this one is all true without a bias spin.....
  10. Not so fast, the NHL voided the deal cause it didn't meet the CBA cause it didn't include time for the rest of this season. They can't actually sign him for next season until the year end on July 1st
  11. I don't see it happening, no teams will outright Fold, they will be relocated if anything. The Sabres won't be one of them unless the Pegulas somehow are bankrupt and must sell Most sports teams may take a hit in their valuations of overall value, but I can't see any league folding franchises and contracting teams
  12. I would say its hasek #1 (No question considering he was the greatest goalie to ever play the game......) Then #2 would have to be Miller, I also don't think he is overrated, I think its the opposite, he took a lot of crap from Sabres fans who expected so much more
  13. OHL canceled the rest of their regular season yesterday, still holding out for a potential playoffs and Memorial Cup, but it's looking like that won't happen either and it's just a matter of time in case the impossible happens and tomorrow everything is over.....
  14. C'mon man, Spoiler........
  15. I think people need to give this more then part of one season before wanting him shipped out. How many players live up to or exceed their new contract in the 1st season it kicks in? Most of the time there's some drop off after a big deal is signed and then the player comes back into form. This is what happens to talented players, they outperform their earlier deals that made them look like a bargain and then get paid and people then expect them to all of the sudden be that much better.
  16. I think 'Sabres win' should be added to that.....
  17. I expect a full page apology to everyone hurt by your comment and an announcement that you will be stepping down from your role here at SS...........
  18. What do you mean by hurt? Physically or mentally? Like most players, I'm sure there's some physical injury/pain he is playing through this time of year, might end up having some offseason minor surgery when the seasons done. Don't think it's anything too serious. Mentally, I would think another embarrassing season has gotten to him and he may be hurt by it. Maybe he is hurt they traded away ERod and let BOGO go. Who knows. But it doesn't really matter anymore cause the rest of the year is just going to be them riding out the season again
  19. From what it sounds like, someone got some dirt on him, or he said/did something recently that got him canned. Usually when they say things like 'conduct inconsistent with the core values of the team and league' he's either been caught saying something offensive about woman/minorities/sexual orientations/etc, done something sexual to someone, or has a drug/alcohol problem. Although the last one they usually try to help you with first.
  20. Why not, I had heard that Ed Belfour would play in beer league's in the GTA after retirement, although he may have misunderstood what they meant by 'beer' league....... Also Hasek I believe played roller hockey in a Czech league but not in net
  21. It's funny how other teams can rebuild on the fly and turn their teams around in less then half the time it takes for Botterill to evaluate the roster. Those that think this is the right way justify it by thinking that if you take all this time to do it, your going to end up with some dynasty franchise that's going to dominate for decades and win multiple cups year after year. But with the Salary cap, it's just not possible anymore.
  22. I think Simmonds was brought in not for what he could produce on the ice, but for a solid veteran lockeroom presence to help be a leader in the lockeroom for the younger guys. If Botts picked him up expecting him to do anything on the ice, he should have been walked out the door by 4pm that day......
  23. He didn't want to help a team behind them, but instead helped a team above them in the 2nd WC spot?
  24. I think Botts said on the radio yesterday that the younger players bonuses will put them over the cap and have to carry over next year, but he looks at it as a positive because it means the younger players are doing well that they are reaching these bonuses
  25. I would even throw in Frolik as an added bonus....
