  1. I think he is traded on deadline day and it won't be for anything close to what people would want to get for him Although they did get more for Johanson & Staal then I expected they would so maybe the deal will surprise us as they find another Sucker (I mean team) to take him. I'm sure all of the leagues GMs have seen how he raised the Coyotes, Devils and Sabres up to the next level and need that for their playoff run......
  2. Ah yes, the good old days Those days would still be better then whats going on now....... He is, They are all coming back in the next Spiderman movie
  3. Sign him as a backup or the 2nd half of a tandem. He hasn't shown he can be a reliable #1 goalie in this league He has yet to play more then half a seasons worth of games in a year. He has decent stats but nothing that can't be improved upon which is what this franchise needs to do. They need to look at improving the entire team, even if it means moving out some players that might still take time to develop/reach their ceiling. He has been 'middle of the pact' at best in the league which is good for the 2nd half of a tandem or backup goalie, but if they have a chance at someone better, he sholdn't be what holds them back from bringing them in. Goalies (especially todays goalies) are very streaky and can turn very quickly from Franchise goalie to being benched. There are very few goalies out there today that appear like they can be the guy for a team for many years. Its not like years ago when you had goalies like Brodeur, Roy, Belfour, etc. who were the top guys for teams for long stretches of their career. Guys now can look great one year and be gone the next. Carter Hart came in last season and looked like he was the answer for the Flyers in net, then this year he gets benched because his team doesn't trust him enough to start against the Sabres. Robin Lehner looked like he finally reaching his potential in Vegas last year and now they are thanking god that they couldn't get anyone to take Fleury this offseason. If Linus wants big starter money, or a guarantee he will get the majority of the starts, I think you let him test the market If he is willing to sign a short term contract for a decent amount, and is happy being the 2nd half of a tandem, you bring him back.
  4. I don't think that is true with Hall, he knew exactly what he was getting into. His reason for signing here was because of Ralph, he played for him in Edmonton Yup, thats what its all about today, be the first to break the story If your the first one reporting it, your going to get the clicks/ratings that bring the $$$
  5. I could see the league willing to just cancel all of the rest of the Sabres games this season for them and blame it on Covid to let them keep some dignity but TP saying he wants to play them to try and get some revenue now that they can sell some tickets.
  6. Or it could end up being scored by Crosby when the Pens send him over for the 3rd period to play for the Sabres to try and make the rest of the game fair like they do sometimes in the Kids leagues or rec leagues when the games are uneven.
  7. Do they have any to call up?
  8. A win against the Spread?
  9. Maybe thats what he will be doing. He can have a headset on and other GMs will ask him to put certain players out there in certain situations so they can get a good look at them. Adams - "So your thinking about taking Hall but want to see what he would look like on the PP? Ok Taylor, get out there and show your stuff if you want to go to a contender!" Then of course they get played by the Pens GM who calls in and starts asking to see if Staal and Reinhart can play defence and would make good defence partners while Crosby is on the ice.........
  10. Can it really be any worse? He has as much experience as a HC as he does as a GM, and its not like he can really screw anything up even more.
  11. As I said above, he even said right before it 'i will probably get in trouble for saying this'. It's less shocking to me what the people actually say then it is that they would say anything knowing what ends up happening for doing it.
  12. With Kruegger, I think that he isn't much of an 'X's & O's' coach who is going to be able to coach up a teams talent and teach them. He might be successful on the older stacked Penguins teams when they were winning where the talent was already there and didn't need someone to teach them. He could do what he does best and just be there to motivate them when they need it. Ideally, he would probably be best as an assistant on a staff where he doesnt need to worry about systems and 'X's & O's'
  13. Its tough to say because it does seem like Granato is just a placeholder and they intend to try to find someone else after the season is over. Did he get the job with the front office telling him to just go out and be the guy behind the bench to keep the spot warm for someone else, or was he hired and told that he has the lead position for the job if he can turn things around? Has the front office told the coaches and players that they are throwing in the towel on the rest of the year and are just going to play the year out and start new in the offseason, with everyone being available to be moved if they get the right offer? Either way, Its not going to be a quick turnaround like you see with other teams that get the 'New coach' spark for a few games. For that to have happened, they would have needed to make the change way earlier when things started to look like they were going to get bad and not after many players checked out and other got hurt. I think it was more then just the coach losing the players, I think the front office lost them too when they pretty much sat back and did nothing to try and fix key issues with the team.
  14. Its sad that we are at a point where those would become 'Glory Days' now compared to then when people were so spoiled by having a consistent playoff team that just making it wasn't good enough anymore.......
  15. 2 wrongs make a right? I don't think this should really shock anyone that refs would make calls like this. To be honest, I really wouldn't be shocked at all to find out all sports are just like Pro wrestling with pre-determined outcomes. Its a business and its all about the $$$$$
  16. Would it have made a huge difference? Vanek was good, but I always found him to be just a very good player, but not a game changer or leader. He was one of those players that is great as a supplementary piece to your roster, but not as your top guy....
  17. They don't have to keep or use those picks in the draft. They can use them as part of a deal to move up for someone or as part of a deal to obtain other more established players. If a team is willing to give up 4 1st for a guy who has been good, but not really a game changer/leader who will carry the team it would peak my interest.
  18. Apparently its not that great according to all the talk and broadcasts outside of here, I keep hearing and seeing about how goaltending isn't an issue and they haven't been an issue, its everyone else in front thats the problem I think Ullmark is the best of this bunch, but I don't think he is a huge difference maker for this team and is at best a good 1B as part of a tandem, or a very good backup. But he isn't the guy thats going to go out carrying the team on his back and win them games on his own
  19. Which one? One of them lost his job as part of the radio show for making the comments, the other lost his job working for PSE (which had no tie to the show except for it being the hosts 'Day Job') basically for not saying something.
  20. I know about Bell, they have been ripping apart all the stations around here, letting go of all the established DJs and bringing in younger (cheaper) people to replace them if they aren't just syndicating shows from other areas. All the media outlets are doing it, Rogers this year decided they don't want to have a separate crew to do the Blue Jays radio broadcasts so they will just broadcast the audio from the TV telecast on their radio station.
  21. I think with some aspect they do, but when it comes to social media, PR, and things like that they usually have a few employees to do that, although it may be 'Interns' trying to get into the industry.
  22. Yup, its not surprising He even said right before it "I will probably get in trouble for saying this"
  23. Are you referring to it still being included as part of the podcast of the show on the website? I'm not sure if the shows hosts have anything to do with keeping or removing content from that, its really up to the radio station to decide to put it up on the website or not
  24. He was the guy who would come on the screen during breaks and intermissions and do games and other stuff to entertain the crowds in the arena
  25. He's been doing it for a while now, Maybe they can bring back the guy from the old Kiss 98.5 morning show who did it before him?
