  1. That would put him in the middle of the league and he has probably played in less games then most of the other 'starters' in the league. He has never played more then 50% of the teams games in a season. (I believe he has 2 seasons where he played more then 30 and his next closest was 20 games) His save percentage right now is at around his career average which is middle of the pact type numbers. He has 3 Career shutouts He is not a guy that is going to carry a team but is someone that could be a valuable asset to a contender as a backup/1B goalie.
  2. I think they need to keep him on the ice and hope he flips a switch and flashes something, otherwise your trying to move someone who has done next to nothing this year on the top line playing with someone who is supposed to be a top player (Eichel)
  3. I disagree, if he isn't being retained, take what you can get. That 3rd can always be used packaged with something else to sweeten a deal. This team is at a point where nothing they do is going to turn this season around so keeping him does nothing unless you want to punish him. Atleast taking the best offer for someone you have no intentions of retaining this offseason gives you some type of asset
  4. I think its just the Canadians trying to win the 2011 Stanley Cup..... The guy is put on the 2nd line and literally does nothing, he is past his prime and has little left
  5. I think he was refering to the Owners being dumb by not having sponsorships on the uniforms already.....
  6. Unlike the Sabres, they may actually be trying to improve the product on the ice and don't wont to bring in guys we want to replace with their garbage.... I think people are living off the past with him
  7. Don't we say this about everyone? And yet how many players has this front office done that with that they probably should? This front office does appear to see that as an option because they probably don't have infinite amounts of cash/money to just pay out for castoffs to just play in Rochester and they aren't flush with Cap space to just take on other teams cap problems.
  8. maybe, but I doubt the scenery here is going to change anyone
  9. yeah but he got to keep the Spiderman Dance/strut scene.....
  10. I would have figured that would be the name for the Arena then The Bills name would have to come from a company based out of Carolina....... Will the sabres soon be playing at 'Lowmark Arena'
  11. I think there was some talk about a potential Spiderman 4 with Tobey now that they are bringing that series into the Marvel Universe. I guess there was a 4th that was supposed to go ahead but got scrapped at the last minute
  12. I think he is traded on deadline day and it won't be for anything close to what people would want to get for him Although they did get more for Johanson & Staal then I expected they would so maybe the deal will surprise us as they find another Sucker (I mean team) to take him. I'm sure all of the leagues GMs have seen how he raised the Coyotes, Devils and Sabres up to the next level and need that for their playoff run......
  13. Ah yes, the good old days Those days would still be better then whats going on now....... He is, They are all coming back in the next Spiderman movie
  14. Sign him as a backup or the 2nd half of a tandem. He hasn't shown he can be a reliable #1 goalie in this league He has yet to play more then half a seasons worth of games in a year. He has decent stats but nothing that can't be improved upon which is what this franchise needs to do. They need to look at improving the entire team, even if it means moving out some players that might still take time to develop/reach their ceiling. He has been 'middle of the pact' at best in the league which is good for the 2nd half of a tandem or backup goalie, but if they have a chance at someone better, he sholdn't be what holds them back from bringing them in. Goalies (especially todays goalies) are very streaky and can turn very quickly from Franchise goalie to being benched. There are very few goalies out there today that appear like they can be the guy for a team for many years. Its not like years ago when you had goalies like Brodeur, Roy, Belfour, etc. who were the top guys for teams for long stretches of their career. Guys now can look great one year and be gone the next. Carter Hart came in last season and looked like he was the answer for the Flyers in net, then this year he gets benched because his team doesn't trust him enough to start against the Sabres. Robin Lehner looked like he finally reaching his potential in Vegas last year and now they are thanking god that they couldn't get anyone to take Fleury this offseason. If Linus wants big starter money, or a guarantee he will get the majority of the starts, I think you let him test the market If he is willing to sign a short term contract for a decent amount, and is happy being the 2nd half of a tandem, you bring him back.
  15. I don't think that is true with Hall, he knew exactly what he was getting into. His reason for signing here was because of Ralph, he played for him in Edmonton Yup, thats what its all about today, be the first to break the story If your the first one reporting it, your going to get the clicks/ratings that bring the $$$
  16. I could see the league willing to just cancel all of the rest of the Sabres games this season for them and blame it on Covid to let them keep some dignity but TP saying he wants to play them to try and get some revenue now that they can sell some tickets.
  17. Or it could end up being scored by Crosby when the Pens send him over for the 3rd period to play for the Sabres to try and make the rest of the game fair like they do sometimes in the Kids leagues or rec leagues when the games are uneven.
  18. Do they have any to call up?
  19. A win against the Spread?
  20. Maybe thats what he will be doing. He can have a headset on and other GMs will ask him to put certain players out there in certain situations so they can get a good look at them. Adams - "So your thinking about taking Hall but want to see what he would look like on the PP? Ok Taylor, get out there and show your stuff if you want to go to a contender!" Then of course they get played by the Pens GM who calls in and starts asking to see if Staal and Reinhart can play defence and would make good defence partners while Crosby is on the ice.........
  21. Can it really be any worse? He has as much experience as a HC as he does as a GM, and its not like he can really screw anything up even more.
  22. As I said above, he even said right before it 'i will probably get in trouble for saying this'. It's less shocking to me what the people actually say then it is that they would say anything knowing what ends up happening for doing it.
  23. With Kruegger, I think that he isn't much of an 'X's & O's' coach who is going to be able to coach up a teams talent and teach them. He might be successful on the older stacked Penguins teams when they were winning where the talent was already there and didn't need someone to teach them. He could do what he does best and just be there to motivate them when they need it. Ideally, he would probably be best as an assistant on a staff where he doesnt need to worry about systems and 'X's & O's'
  24. Its tough to say because it does seem like Granato is just a placeholder and they intend to try to find someone else after the season is over. Did he get the job with the front office telling him to just go out and be the guy behind the bench to keep the spot warm for someone else, or was he hired and told that he has the lead position for the job if he can turn things around? Has the front office told the coaches and players that they are throwing in the towel on the rest of the year and are just going to play the year out and start new in the offseason, with everyone being available to be moved if they get the right offer? Either way, Its not going to be a quick turnaround like you see with other teams that get the 'New coach' spark for a few games. For that to have happened, they would have needed to make the change way earlier when things started to look like they were going to get bad and not after many players checked out and other got hurt. I think it was more then just the coach losing the players, I think the front office lost them too when they pretty much sat back and did nothing to try and fix key issues with the team.
  25. Its sad that we are at a point where those would become 'Glory Days' now compared to then when people were so spoiled by having a consistent playoff team that just making it wasn't good enough anymore.......
