Sabres are actively trying to spread covid around the league so that the league is forced to play in front of empty stands again

Basically just looking at signing guys looking for a chance at a fresh start or a chance to play

Maybe they did and he decided going to a playoff team was more important then money on another rebuild? Theres a really good chance they wouldn't see the playoffs until his final year in that deal

I'm atleast holding back some excitement and praise for them until they prove it wasn't a 1 year fluke kind of thing. Its not like we haven't seen QBs throw up huge stats and look great one year, then fall back down to earth the next.

I think they are more comparable to a 'Waffle House'

I was assuming its because you thought there were multiple 'generational talents' in the next draft like there was that year Atleast McDavid has played like advertised and won individual awards being at the top of the league.

To be fair, The coach and GM they got at the time weren't established guys with experience, both were first time coach/GMs (Beane was an assistant and McDermott a Co-Ordinator) so they did get lucky these guys have worked out so far. They have been trying to do the same thing with their NHL coach/GM signing too

Like when they lost the Lottery and got to pick the next best thing in Eichel? Well then thats another fault of the Front Office for sitting back and waiting. If he wanted to wait and shop around, you can't sit back and wait for him to make a decision, you make your moves and circle back to him later if you still need him.

It all makes sense now Boston signed Hall and Ullmark and are now going to use them in a deal for Eichel!

From whats being reported, it sounds like its possible the Sabres thought they had him but he decided to shop the offer around and Boston agreed to match what Buffalo was offering

I think they are the only one in need of a starter, I'm sure others may be interested in upgrades. Washington could be a team looking for a backup/upgrade (Lost one in the Expansion draft and Anderson retired). Will the Pegulas be willing ot pay the money to bail him out of jail? I do have his jersey.......

Not if you sign him They couldn't do that with him being with Florida at the time, but if they traded for his rights they could have protected him while trying to work out a deal He was willing to sign a deal for an expansion team before they even had their team drafted, and now he is the backup. He could have been signed in Buffalo and also given the starter position

Is Dom still keeping in shape playing roller hockey? Hamilton and Toronto are becoming 'Hollywood North' along with Vancouver, maybe Ryan Millers wife can get on a show flming there and they can convince him to 'unretire'?

There are a ton of Die Hard 'Puppies and Kittens and Sunshine and Rainbow' fans that will continue to buy tickets so that they can support the kids and because you can't be down on the team unless your a bad fan (or not a fan).....
