Sit Miller - Start Enroth Thursday or Friday
apuszczalowski replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in Archive
has anyone heard if Ruff said anything in any intervies if Enroth will start one of the 2 back to back games against the Canes? Was Ruff on WGR at all? -
http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=414190 A deal is close to finally end the Luongo saga in Vancouver? Gillis is saying he has a deal in place and its to a surprise team Seems the hangup is that this team is wanting to dump salary back to the Canucks who don't want to take on a salary dump (Says this other team is wanting to send a potential buyout player back to Vancouver in the deal but the Canucks don't want it) At first I was thinking my darkhorse team in this is Detroit, but I can't think of what bad contract the Redwings would insist on sending over to the Canucks. With Lidstrom retired, its making their goaltending look much worse (I think he really helped overrate their goaltenders in previous seasons) Now I'm thinking its the Flyers, and they will do the deal IF the Canucks take Bryz in the deal and they can buy him out at the end of the deal. Makes sense cause Gillis says that they are insisting the Canucks take back a player they won't play (he would be a backup to them) and that they might as well keep the guy they know (might as well keep Luongo and buy him out then since the only reason they are going to move him is becuase he is too expensive to keep as a backup)

From what it sounds like, he is just happy to be playing the game and feels he achieved his goal to play in the OHL (Sounds like he was realistic with his goal or just likes setting the bar low). He sounds like he isn't really all that interested in playing NHL hockey

Damn Hippy My favorite part is watching Bobs reaction to the puck being in the net...........

I read his article and the most I got from it was that he seems like he gave up on the NHL really quickly. has anyone ever successfully went over to play in the Italian league and come back to play in the NHL?

while true, we do view it differently when its Millionaires (who can afford to be off work for a while) fight Billionaires over how to divide their revenue, it is still different then the auto workers. The Auto workers strikes are over actual working conditions and keeping health care plans for their families, they are putting in 40 hour work weeks for a full year doing actual work making a decent pay making something we all need in day to day life. They are not being paid millions to entertain us playing a game we played as children and would be willing to play now for a fraction of their earnings if we only were blessed with the talent to do it.

Seriously, you need to stop trying to make this something its not. From reading the quote, it sounds more like he said it jokingly because people were asking him if he is going to be a regular fighter/enforcer now. If anything, him comment (like Ruffs comment trying to temper the expectations of the fanbase for Grigs this season) is to try and not have fans expecting him to go out and try to fight every game now. He is not and will never be that kind of player. So what if his last fight was 3 years ago and he said something similar, he is not a player that should be out there fighting, especially not someone like Hartnell. It was great that he did, but now everyone thinks he will do it every night.
-
The problem is, if he said nothing, you would probably jump on him for doing that too because you would expect him to be trying to pick a fight every game. I don't want players like Stafford fighting every time, thats what McCormick, Scott, even Kaleta and Ott or even Foligno are here for. But it is nice to know that Stafford has and will stick up for a teammate if necessary
-
Seriously? You must really hate Stafford with a passion if you are going to read into that and get pissed off Stafford is not a physical fighter and should not be out there fighting every game. Nothing that he said in that quote says that he won't do it again if necessary, just that you shouldn't expect him to be another Ray, Barnaby, Peters, McCormick, Scott, etc whos contributions to the team are with his fists and not his stick. The guys is a hockey player and is here because of his skill (or potential skill) to put the puck in the net, not to fight. I would have a problem if he came out and said that he would not stick up for a teammate ever again, unless of course you assume that every game someone willtake a cheap shot at a teammate that he will be on the ice for

From what I understand, they want the roster spot for some of their guys on the Marlies, looking like they are going to just play out the season seeing what they have in some guys like Kadri and try to have space for FA next offseason Toronto already has 2 "young goalies with" potential in Reimer and Scrivens, if they are going to get a goalie now, its going to be a better veteran who can take over the #1 spot til they feel Reimer/Scrivens is ready to take over fully (I can see one of those 2 being a part of a deal for someone like Luongo if they make a deal) This was a cut down to get back to 23 players, and they had to be waived to go back to Rochester, so theres no spots to fill unless they are released or claimed
-
Ah, ok, didn't hear the part about STH getting them for freeIts an even better deal for the STHs because mnost of them have probably put them up online and sold them already for more then face value (minimum price I saw on Stub Hub was $120)
-
The key is that the deal only gets made IF they can land Gomez. LA dumps a centre after picking up one on what can probably end up being a little more then the veteran minimum (or at the most $1-2 mil), and they get a defencemen in return

Going back to where it began.............. That is how most of "He whos name shall not be spoken here" rumors begin.......

Home Opener is against Buffalo and only a little more then an hour drive from the arena, maybe that can be included in what the Sabres are doing for the fans too?I never heard that the game was free for everyone, but did here tehy were giving away about a thousand free tickets to the game. But thats what these non hockey market teams in small markets like Pittsburgh, Chicago, and Toronto have to do to attract more fans compared to the big boys like the Sabres who don't need anymore fans They didn't need to do anything to help with their PR with the lockout. Just listen to most of the fans here in Buffalo, they Blame Bettman/Fehr, the players and some of the owners for the lockout mess. Everyone assumes that TP would never have wanted the NHL to have a lockout and it was the other owners that wanted it so they come running back praising him because he is a Saint who will buy us fancy trinkets for outside the arena and invest in realestate around the area.

I used GameCentre Live last year too (My cable company had me on hold for way too long when I tried ordering Centre Ice so I went this route), but if you read the agreement when you get it, it says that the charge is renewed every year, and you have to cancel it if you don't want it to be renewed so its not really them presumtuous because even if the season wasn't delayed, they would have renewed your subscription to it before the start of the season anyways unless you canceled it prior to the season
-
Don't know if you can waive someone who is currently injured though. Also, theres no point if you can IR them. Its not going to cost them cap space or a roster spot to IR them and make the decision later after having more time to evaluate some other players and possibly work out other moves/trades.
-
http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=413760Looks like a buyout is possible according to TSN, doesn't make much sense because they would still take the cap hit this year, and he only has a year left so he is off the books already next season, unless they dislike him as a player so much they just want him gone. Looks like a full on youth movement this year for the Leafs, with the idea that tehy will have the cap room this offseason to make some offers when FA comes around, or they just want some room for Luongo and his contract..........

Leafs tickets aren't going for what they used to, and there are tons already available on Stubhub

Never get the flu shots either and same thing, aside from the occasional cold, in the last few years I missed one day of work because I spend a few hours one night vomitting.I'm sure the flu shots work and are good for certain people and for those who work in certain situations, but I don't think its necessary for the average person working in an average job I really believe the problem today is that people are becoming too clean. We are covering our kids in antibacterial everything. Virusses are getting stronger because they are adapting to this and working around these sanitizers and antibacterial stuff.
-
well, theire options are put him on waivers to buy him out, or find a NHL team that is dumber then they are and willing to take him in a trade. Quick, someone disconnect the phones lines at the FNC before DR gets wind that Timmy might be available!
-
It was something that was added during one of the previous upgrades and was supposed to be a cool way to keep up with recent transactions. from previous discussions, it appears that all it does is picks up transactions that are mentioned, even if they aren't official or just a rumor IIRC
-
I would let him replace Hecht or even Girgs (Let him use this season to develop back in the minors instead of hoping to rush his development now) Without the burden of the huge contract, and out of a crazy hockey media market like montreal he could get back to his previous production.
-
I think both will get a deal once bought out, but I would doubt it if anyone touches them on waivers (putting them on waivers is part of the accelerated by-out process) I can see both players taking 1-2 year deals for veteran minimum cause the Rangers and Habs (both deals were signed originally by the Rangers, lol) are paying both Salaries this season (and beyond). I would take Gomez at $1-2 million.......

I believe the entire country of Canada would vote him into political office as our King and leaderIt is every Canadians dream to get behind the wheel of a Zamboni, or even better, to have one of our own
