  1. This will be hard to watch another 2 periods and NBC certainly doesn't make it any easier.
  2. Some of the assist that are given out seem to be given for "sympathy points", or some other lame reason, other than an earned assist. Omark was given an assist the other night after he lost the puck at the blue line to Florida player, who in return lost it to Stafford, who passed it to Ott and Ott passed it back to Stafford for the goal. That was 2 players that had the puck after Omark, how that adds up to an assist for Omark is confusing to me.
  3. Close, we've scored 20 in the last 6 games (3.3 gpg) and 23 in the 12 games (1.9 gpg) that came before. In the last 6 games there have been some nice goals scored also, tonght we had some some luck on our side.
  4. This may be one of the better looking lineups for the Sabres in a while.
  5. If the Broncos win (I hope), Manning will be the first QB to win the Super Bowl with 2 different teams, something I doubt Brady would be able to do.
  6. No, his name was Jim Brown. ;)
  7. I would never think this could be said, but I think Stafford being out, also makes it look worse. Wondering if the game will even be played because of the "storm" and driving bans in the suburbs, the NHL is the one that makes the call.
  8. I was going to say, don't they know that the paper peels off ? Luckily, they consulted someone outside the arena (maybe the State) to find out how that works, before the OT.
  9. But John Scott is 6'8" and scary.
  10. Good luck, that's a hard find. I've seen Leafs and Pens, Horton jerseys, but rarely a Sabres Horton jersey. Last one I seen was a game worn that went for close to $3,000. I have a good amount of jerseys (mostly football) and I'm always looking, so if I see one I'll send you a message.
  11. I think you're right, from what I understand there has to be a single majority/principle owner and it can not be a group or organization.
  12. Even if the ball was uncatchable, you have defensive holding. As much as I like the Pats not getting their way, I hate inconsistent officiating and the NFL and NHL are both full of it.
  13. I thought that Stafford has looked good the last 3 games, hopefully Nolan can keep him to stay involved in the game and not float around, but that goes for at least a few other guys also. I was a little shocked to see that Stafford leads the team in SOG's, (52) maybe if he starts to bury a few more he'll get some confidence and want to play harder.
  14. I can't get into the bottoming out thing, I know it would bring us a higher draft choice (not necessarily the #1), but I would rather have the players on this team, especially the young ones to start winning, to get used to winning and learning how to win. I don't want these guys getting accustomed to and comfortable with losing. when talking about changing the culture of the team, it includes turning a losing team into a winning team and it's going to take more than another 19 year old kid, no matter how good he is.
  15. I do like having Nolan back, but I do not think it will be long term. I have a bigger problem with lack of effort than "lack of talent" on this team, Nolan should be able to correct that. Talent means nothing if you're not trying. I can easily see Nolan bringing back up Kaleta and possibly another vet or two from Rochester, then sending down a couple of the kids to develop in the minors. One thing for sure, is I am excited to see the Sabres next game Friday night, and I haven't felt like that about too many Sabres games this season.
  16. I heard that the press conference is about Darcy getting another extension. :death:
  17. Spray some cologne or perfume on the bottom of the door, or you can even try a heavy scented lemon furniture wax. My daughter's cat use to scratch the bottom of her leather couch and once it was sprayed with a perfume, she stopped completely.
  18. Vanek could of milked the Sabres and Darcy of a big contract to finish up his career, I give him credit for wanting to be somewhere where winning is going to be more important to him than being paid more money.
  19. I'm not worried about Darcy drafting centers, I'm sure he'll be going for left wingers and a couple of D-men.
  20. Although the numbers don't show it, Fred Jackson had a great game, he went above and beyond what could be asked of him. As important as Jackson was to the victory, it would of been a different outcome if not for Mario Williams. Williams takes a lot of flack because of his contract, one that his play (no matter how good) will never justify, but that's the way it is in free agency, if you want a top player, you're going to have to overpay for him. Williams is on his way to a career high in sacks and possibly a new sack record for the league. Nobody refers to the Bills as a team that is rebuilding, but they are a team that is in a "rebuilding" process. Darcy Regier should take note that "rebuilding" does not mean you have to lose every game, or that you have an excuse to lose.
  21. The 71-72 Sabres won only 16 games, the current Sabres are on pace to finish with about that many wins. I don't see where rebuilding means you have to suck, through 9 games this team seems to be moving further back instead of forward. When does the rebuilding start ? At some point you have to remove all the wrecking balls before you can start rebuilding.
  22. You just can't say, if they would of kicked the FG, they would of won, because if they kicked that FG, they wouldn't of went on 4th and 8 from the Bengals 22 with 10:30 left (Chandler TD), down by 11, more than likely they would of kicked a FG to bring them within 8. It's no "butterfly effect." The play call down there on 4th down, might have not been the right call, but the decision to go for it was IMO. To go along with all the injuries the Bills have suffered, all the defenses they have faced have been ranked in the top half of the league, including the 2nd, 3rd and 4th ranked defenses. This is a very young team and have been in the position to win every game this season, they are growing and will get much better.

    KALETA

It is so much worse that he gets suspended for a half a dozen games out of 82 than if he floated around around the ice for 65 games.

    KALETA

I watched it over and over, I can't see how he could have got his elbow up that fast, the last you see of Kaleta's body his arms are still down, I think it was the shoulder that made contact. Still it's Kaleta and Shanahan has to be tough with someone. As far as getting rid of Kaleta, I'd say no, if half of the players on this team played with the heart Kaleta plays with, they would be in a lot better position than they are now.
