I'd like to have McDavid on the Sabres too, but tanking a whole season just in order to get a better chance at him in the lottery seems foolish to me. With the way the NHL looks at the Sabres, be it because of the market size or whatever, I think they would do everything possible to insure the next Sid (I don't believe so) doesn't end up in Buffalo. People also have to realize that not every body buys into this "tank" idea and the hope of this teenage savior coming and saving the team in 2 years, so you end up having crowds of 8,000 people attending home games because they're sick of seeing a team that sucks. I'd rather have them try and keep their top FA's, try and use the picks they have to get a good player this draft, then go after some FA's (overpay if you have to) to replace the AHL talent that is on the roster now. Then you have a respectable season next year and then build on that. The team has a good front office that could lure some top FA's into coming here if they look like they are trying to win and not playing for the bottom of the league. JMO

Leino has made a couple of hockey plays in this game. Seriously though, he does look like he's more involved in the game than just about any other time this season.

It'd be unfair to say that every goal is blamed on the defense, it's never the defense's fault when Enroth is in net, only when Miller is in net.

The opposition should only get a half a goal if Weber is on the ice for the Sabres. Nolan needs to stop trying to find some magic line combination and put someone with Stafford and Ennis that has a chance to score, instead of players like Lieno and Omark. Put Hodgson or Gus back between #21 and #63 and maybe we'll get a goal or two.

I might of not seen it right, but did the stats of the Sabres power play they showed, have Ehrhoff with 6 PP goals ? He hasn't scored a PP goals this season. Not positive, but I'm pretty sure it's Teppo, I've seen him drawing up plays, before the PP would start a couple of times.

Flynn, OMG, I would of put............. It does look kind of bleak but you never know, maybe with Flynn and Ennis's quickness, they can make something happen. The line may put on some pressure, but it's missing a finisher, but I guess that could be said of the whole team.

On Ott's goal, Leino had an open net with the goalie out of position and partially fanned on the shot and it squirted over to Ott, who put it in. Maybe Ott was just trying to pay Leino back for that great assist.

The holding call looked more like, intent to hold, both slashing calls were ridiculous, especially when they let the slash on Moulson go unpunished. Gus has no quit in him, the kid's going to be a bright spot for years to come.

Did you consider he was on the ice for 50 seconds already on the 2 on 1, plus had a guy coming from behind that would of broke up the play, so he got rid of it, sometimes passes get deflected. Trying to backcheck after a full shift, on a team that is flying down the ice, to try and cover a player that Weber decided to let go, is proabably not the easiest thing to do. He cost us the game ? Would they have been in the game without him helping to set up 2 goals ? Keep getting rid of the teams top players and you'll have a team full of Leino's and Omarks.

2nd on the team goals scored and in points, including 10 points in the last 11 games, yet it seems that so many people want to get rid of him. I guess it makes sense when you have a team that lacks talent, to get rid of one of the few talented players on the team.
