  1. I've watch a lot of football, about 40 years worth. I've seen the majority of the "greats" playing during their "great" years, and IMO Josh has the potential to best ALL of them!!!! Sadly, if he doesn't get that one specific piece of hardware he'll be misremembered as you've described him. It's an unfair, yet somehow validated in the court of public opinion, measuring stick. See: Dan Marino Regardless of what the future holds for Mr Allen, I'm soaking up as much of his career as I can, as the likelihood of a unicorn to his level ever dropping into WNY to play QB for my beloved Bills in my lifetime, is next to null! He's WHY Buffalo is on the "map" again!
  2. NOT the sort of game that allows for good sleep, afterwards ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
  3. It certainly has cooled off, and seemingly suddenly too!!! Oh man, that 1st waterfall brings back memories. A buddy of mine was dicking aroubd at the top, and almost took a VERY rough waterside down to his (likely) demise!!! We're talking 1996; no cell phones and you can imagine the nightmare an emergency squad would have, traversing that spot!!! I've never done the whole trail, but there are two more waterfalls up that trail, with a road to walk back to the park entrance. On the za subject, Canandaigua is painfully devoid of a quality establishment, IMO. Especially vs the Buffalo area (my grandparents were originally from Riverside, moved to Tonawonda when the Italians mass-exited that area, and now reside in Amherst). I cannot recommend ANY pizza places, here. Rochester has some decent spots, IMO. If I'm getting pizza, I bring my insulated pizza bag and make the 60 minute (round trip) to Uncle Joe's. Again, not as good as good Buffalo pizza, but MUCH better than anything in CA. I've head Simply Crapes is decent. The wife may have clowned you about the boots, but you were the wise one in wearing them ๐Ÿ˜ƒ. With the tic issues we've been having, and my overprotective nature in regard to my son, I haven't done any nature hiking in a couple of years. We do hike around the city, a few times per week. I have to make it a point to do some research on effective bug spray, as there are tons of beautiful nature spots around here (I LOVE Ithaca, and I think the kid would love that town, too!) I'm happy that your visit went well!!!
  4. Water shoes, absolutely!!! Even if it's been a relatively dry summer, there are likely a few spots that are unavoidable and mid-calf deep. Mind you, it's been a few years since I've been down that way, and the state has been "improving" the trail, so it might be traverseable with sneakers? There is a dirt path which runs on either side of the stream, but where's the fun in that? ๐Ÿ˜ Just outside of Naples is the lesser known (not as many humans to spoil the nature setting) trail, Clark's Gully. A bit more of an advanced hike vs Grime's, and not as much stream, but it's just as pretty IMO I'd imagine those hotel rates will start to dip in the coming weeks? There are numerous B&B's in the city (I live here, and the "city" designation is laughable, as there can't be more than 20k residents in the city of Canandaigua), and they're in the historic district (gorgeous homes). I bet there are a few stunners to be found along the lake, if you search the Air B 'n B app? Pittsford is a pretty town, but I'm a country boy so Monroe County is a "no" for moi ๐Ÿ˜
  5. Grimes Glen is my fav hiking spot in Naples. While, it's not quite the "hidden gem" that it used to be (seeing a soccer mom toting a Macy's bag one weekend afternoon, was a bell cow to a changing time LOL), it is still a beautiful trek, IMO. Nothing like creek hikes and waterfalls โค๏ธ Why not stay at one of the two, new'ish hotels in Cdga vs staying in Pittsford?
  6. Without Hogan blazing the trail, does Austin ever get that sizeable an audience to shine in front of?
  7. The more times I play it, the deeper that hook gets in...
  8. IDK why, but it gives me The Blue Nile vibes Not in a theory sense, just the vibe
  9. Another negative to the "stream" is the artist payout It cascades into many branches of ssssshaving cream (sorry, I couldn't resist a lil' Demento humor), all of which = lower quality output (in general) IMO I'm 100% anti-streaming I do pay for mp3/4 files (singles/albums/etc) and I'm still out here, purchasing physical media (I picked up used a copy of Big Babรบ, and the giant rolling paper was still in the insert, and in pristine condition ๐Ÿ˜ƒ). I do enjoy the advantage of culling the unnecessary fluff that comes on certain albums (I give every track a fair shake) The major advantage to internet-driven media IMO, is the speed rate of deep diving. Between YouTube, Amazon, and record label websites, I can put in some VERY satisfactory research netting me artist discoveries at an alarming rate. Because of the advantages that the digital age provides, I'm discovering quality bands/projects/etc on a daily basis!!! The internet really IS for the older millennials, and generations back IMO Those of us who built our filters, properly. Those of us who built our brains to do our own research IMO The perversion of it comes from those without a reference point, which turns the tech into mushy pea melted ice cream IMO Streaming makes music into a commodity for the newer generations vs something sacred IMO Example of the advantages brought by the www This song lived in my subconscious for decades, as I was very young when it was popular. The gorgeous hook in its chorus would bubble up every so often, and I never knew where it came from, until I very accidentally hit on the link, one day on YouTube! Not only did hearing it inspire me to buy the mp3/album, it sprung forth a wave of early childhood memories that I swam in, for hours!!! THAT, in my opinion, is one of the beautiful aspects of the modern age https://youtu.be/lBlx1JffMQ4?si=MyfcSFsx72_vkZDx
  10. I'm borrowing a vehicle, while the deer dance damage to my car is being (haggling/approving game, between the shop and my insurance provider) repaired Said borrowed car HAS a built in CD player!!! I had NIN's Pretty Hate Machine on for yesterday's commute Today, it's Dr Demento's, Covered in Punk compilation (Brak does a wonderful rendition of Suicidal Tendencies' "Institutionalized") ๐Ÿ˜ƒ It's absolutely BONKERS, in the best possible way ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿป While I appreciate the conveniences associated with digital tech, IMO there's no beating physical media, ESPECIALLY when it comes to music. ยกViva nostalgia!
  11. Yeah But, I'm an idiot nut bag, so there's a caveat ๐Ÿ˜
  12. Soooooooooooo...... ..... no "frenzy" eh
