I'm not sure about being the intro song but I'd like to see them introduce it as a new tradition ala Sweet Caroline, which has no connection to our franchise whatsoever. The Sabres management has "managed" to put a weak product on the ice entertainment-wise over the years. Starting with the lame national anthem singer (compare him to Chicago's) followed by Sabre Tooth, the assinine PA announcer and the rotten music the organist and music coordinator pipes in, the total effect is completely lame, an organization without identity, vision or tradition.

Hell yeah! He pushed him into the boards headfirst.

Game Discussion Thread GDT: Sabres at Hurricanes, 3/5/13, 7:00 PM

The Sabres attacked furiously in the third period, even though they gave up 2 crucial goals while they were outshooting the Canes 18-4. I don't get giving up 2 goals on 4 shots. I like the fact that they don't tolerate getting kicked around under Rolston the way they did under Ruff and they fight back. But usually it's too late. I don't remember the last time the team was up 4-0 in the first. -

Signing Myers and Ehrhoff to huge long-term deals was 2 huge mistakes. -

I despise these smug Carolina announcers. I can't understand Bill Cowher who sounds like he's talking into a cup. They've had large stretches of the game where they don't even do any play by play. It might be about the worst announcing I ever heard. -
Our power play s*cks. I'm giving Coach Rolston a mulligan to sort through the mess that Ruff left but it seems we have a commitment to bad angles and nervous decisions. It doesn't help that our point men have been awful... Ehrhoff in particular gets off tons of his booming shots but they all either go wide or hit the goalie in the crest. Maybe he's out of his comfort zone without Vanek and Sulzer. And of course Myers can't hit the broad side of a barn and I'm glad to see that Rolston has limited his time on the pp. Someone needs to take charge here, a quarterback. I don't know if any Sabres are equipped for it but maybe they should give Pysyk a try.

Richards deserved an Academy Award for the way he was writhing on the ice after the hit. It looked like he was about to go into convulsions. He returned to the ice :50 later. I'm not saying the hit from behind was right, it was wrong. But the player sold the penalty by remaining on the ice and should've been penalized for delay of game.

I'm a huge fan of the sweatstains under the arms. I just can't understand why any of the other NHL or major league sports teams wouldn't adopt a sweatstain design under the arms. It clearly gives us a psychological edge implying we outwork the other teams on a nightly basis.

Stafford? I don't include Stafford on anything. I see him as a reclamation project. Stafford somehow always gets lost. For weeks on end, sometimes months. Then he'll grace us with a period of 3-4 weeks a year where he's actually playing to capability. This is his 6th year.

There are more Hodgson goals on this highlight reel than Kassian will get in his entire career!

Ehrhoff is not impressing me today. Now watch him score. -
If we're going nowhere, you might as well unload the big guy, especially if he hasn't cracked the top 20 goalies stats the last few years.

Apparently both Elliot Friedman and Hockey News recently wrote about Miller's unhappiness as shown to the press lately and say it might be time to move him. Frankly, I don't think it's a bad idea but letting Darcy handling it might be a mistake. (Friedman) 11. If there are any further moves to be made in Buffalo, the biggest impact would surround Regier and goalie Ryan Miller, who sounds incredibly unhappy. He's got a limited no-trade clause and maybe it is time. Regier just received an extension. If -- and I stress this is an if -- he is in any trouble, the team's president (Ted Black) and senior advisor (Ken Sawyer) have connections to Pittsburgh. Would Buffalo look at Tom Fitzgerald or Jason Botterill? http://www.thehockey...in-Buffalo.html

Color me excited to finally feel we have a good coach for these players. In many ways, Rolston represents the anti-Ruff...cerebral, articulate, even-tempered, well-prepared, disciplined, logical, responsible, doesn't throw his players individually under the bus, problem solving...I know it's only a few games but I like these Sabres better than the Sabres under Lindy Ruff and although the talent isn't great, I look forward to the prospect of Rolston molding this team into something better than its parts.

Tyler also can't hit the broad side of a barn.

I don't expect major moves. I think the management team would leave a rebuild for the next regime.

Sounds like Zach's in the doghouse now. I hope he rebounds for his own sake. Meanwhile Cody's doing pretty well and improving defensively for us. He dishes good, unexpected passes and is becoming the bankshot from behind the net King. Last night, he banked one off old friend Sammy Salo. Cody reminds me a bit of Dale Hawerchuk, but he needs to get more consistent.

I liked this Adam Pardy. He plays a tough and steady game.
-
Right, they should waive him or he should just retire.

There. I said it. Hecht has nothing. I applaud his courage for suiting up in the NHL with all his concussion problems but the fact is he plays like he's afraid of getting hit. The other night Ray criticized him for turning away. It's just very demoralizing to see him on the Sabres year after year, even if he is a "bargain" at $1 million this year. He's taken about $4 milliion of our budget almost every year for the past four and he hasn't been close to compensating us with that kind of prodction. He marginally contributes but I'm concerned that he shouldn't be cleared to play and he's at big risk in just about the roughest sports league there is. He heads up a list of Sabres who've been on the take for years and they have to be cleaned out this summer.

I agree. Staff is of no use. He's turned into a young Hecht.

so back to the Q, he isn't nhl ready anyway.

I'd give anything for Tavares.
