My prediction is the Sabres will get the #1 from the Islanders this year and will draft Ekblad and Dreistl. Just a feeling but mark it.

CBC is cutting 650 jobs because of the loss of HNIC. http://o.canada.com/business/cbc-cuts-657/

sorry,I know Bflo is desperate but I don't think the often injured Callahan has the type of skills to put fans in the seats.

1 I agree - go crack some heads, you bunch of morons!

I think you're right: Lucic Pt. 2 might have been even uglier with no resistance at all. However the lack of shots with the Blues may have given Miller a false sense of security; even with 15-25 shots a game, he still has the low save percentage over there and he's on a losing streak when a President's Trophy is on the line. Let's hope it's just a bump in the road on the way to at least the Conference Finals for him anyway. Further I say get Ekblad if possible. The defense needs all the help it can get.

Predict that Gus is going to be a star. -
This is outrageous! Three Sabres goalies down with long term injuries in the last few weeks. Never saw anything like it. We're 30th out of 30...are teams taking intentional runs at our goalies "because they can?" Are our d-men so bad that they let them run the goalies? Why can't the Sabres protect their goalies better? Is our team so without heart that we don't stand up for the goalies after they get run? Seems the Lucic incident has really defined our team and there was no transformation after that, just decomposing.

Otter -4 vs. 'Hawks. He could be back here next year though the benefits are debatable.

An Islanders fan buddy of mine thinks they're going to give us their #1 pick this year because next year's draft is loaded and they figure to be in the bottom five again.

Not sure if it was Mogilny, but here's the picture. http://sports.yahoo....?urn=nhl-wp6008

Ovechkin may be the first player ever to lead the league in goals (he has 48) and be the worst in plus/minus (he's at the bottom now with -36). Do you trade for a guy like that anyway? He was a Sabres fan when he was a kid. Seems like something Pegula would do. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=448095#YourCallTop

I was listening to Mike at the end of the Devils game. He's as eloquent and thoughtful as ever and I never enjoyed listening to him more. The way he described Tim Horton as his best teacher, and never said ten words to him...great stuff! At times I wish he was one of the Sabres coaches..the man just makes so much sense. I'll be sad to see Mike go.

Weber + McBain=Classic pairing. -
Agree fully with that. For a supposed $10 million player, he doesn't make enough good plays...he makes weak passes and takes bad shots from the point. He seems demoralized.

I should have his affliction. Maybe I could pay my bills at least. Sounds perceptive to me about the depression. A player in his situation has got to be very unhappy. He's got to be sorry he ever agreed to Pegula's offer.

how about sending Leino down to the farm? he deserves it.

I think Miller's ability to pick and choose where he wants to go this summer is all dependent on his performance in the playoffs. He couldn't ask for a better defensive team in front of him. If he lays an egg, I doubt Anaheim, Detroit or any top teams will want him, especially for the pricetag he wants as a 33 year old goalie.
-
I wanted to get rid of Miller awhile ago. The Sabres were in decline and in no need of a $6mil goalie. There's no axe, it's just water cooler talk; that lately he has started letting in bad goals. But I wish him all the luck to at least get to the conference finals...who among us doesn't want this to happen? It's just that Miller chronically lets in bad goals from time to time, wondering if it's a vision problem from the point. I think the Western Conference game is different...bigger bodies crashing the net, screening etc. and that exploits a weakness in our guy.

Sabres to induct Hasek into the Sabres Hall of Fame on March 29th
Marvelo replied to Hoss's topic in The Aud Club
Playoffs are tougher than the regular season and our various owners, bless em, have never loaded for bear for the playoffs. So we've had a tough time. But we'll never know if Hasek let up any crucial playoff goals on purpose. Seems to me the way he skated off the ice after the Kasperaitus goal, he knew he wasn't coming back. -
I agree 100%, which means you're dead wrong.
