what are you, some kind of management apologist? When I have time, I'll make you a nice list.

Game Discussion Thread GDT: Wild At Sabres 1-15-2015 MSG 7PM

Can anyone tell me why Nolan didn't pull Enroth? Was he trying to humiliate him? -
how deep is the ocean? how high is the sky?

From what I've seen the management in this organization doesn't have a clue and I have no faith in them. I am starting to ask myself this question about torture. I must have Sabres Stockholm Syndrome. I'm in a dark place with Pegula and this organization now and am questioning my allegiance since 1970.

Game Discussion Thread GDT: Wild At Sabres 1-15-2015 MSG 7PM

Anyone know if there's an OFFICIAL reason why the old Buffalo Bisons bottlecap uni isn't a heritage or third jersey instead of this explosion in a paint factory? I know the rights with Pepsi but that was our uniform for many years. Also if the Wild lose this one, I believe Yow will be gone. -
I don't believe this for a second. This team is going to suck for years.

Don't know why any player would want to come to Bflo now except for Uncle Terry's money. That's a bad motivation, ask Ehrhoff and Leino. It's not worth it. Sabres might get talented players from time to time but these players languish when they don't mesh with the bad chemistry set up by the bad management. So talking trades has a huge IF, if the discussed player has Buffalo on his do not trade list. And I don't see many who want to take part in this exercise in selling the soul then demoralization.

Our budding superstar GMTM was outmaneuvered for Boychuk and Leddy by none other than the much-maligned Garth. they are leading that team out of the mud while the hero team Sabres continue to fossilize in hockey's version of the La Brea tarpits. Garrioch is hockey's version of Rip Taylor.

I didn't see the ceremony but it sounded like amateur hour. In all truth, only Hasek and Perreault's numbers should've been retired, although I love Martin. The rest is the mark of a chronically badly managed organization desperate to give itself a pat on the back. Robert was certainly ok and he contributed but he rode Perreault and Martin's coattails... Lafontaine was spectacular--for the three or so years he was here. Gare? Puhlease! Horton was loved but he was in Buffalo for all of about one year and the reason his was retired was his sudden death. The irony of the Hasek situation is Buffalo acquired him for nothing and in the end, they got nothing for him. His acquisition, like Perreault, was not the mark of any kind of managerial wizardry. It was the mark of pure luck, management who just fell into the situation. And they just keep falling, mainly into the mud.

Game Discussion Thread GDT: Red Wings At Sabres 7PM MSG

If someone has their jersey raised to the rafters by the Crying Fracker, you can bet it means absolutely zero. -
I used to be very bitter about Hasek leaving and saying he's going to the HOF as a Red Wing plus the way he orchestrated the Kozlov trade made him a villain for a long time in the Buffalo area. Over time, I've come to think that Hasek badly wanted Buffalo to win the cup but Buffalo's management was not committed to winning the big one and that's why he bailed. But I have mixed feelings. All those years he was being paid $10 mil/year and the highest paid other player was maybe $4 mil unfortunately was a big reason, as was his quirky relationship with his coaches and teammates and the failure to sign Peca. I always wondered if he gave up a few choice goals on purpose as if to prove a point. (Kasperitis)

I like Gus and think he has great potential but I think the voting here was a corrupt sham and at this stage, he doesn't deserve All-Star status. But that's only my opinion.

I want to like Hodgson, but imo he is worn down with all the losing.
-
Ever since Hodgson arrived in town, the Sabres have been/become a bottom feeder. Hodgson is a "me too" type player. When things are going well, he plays but when things go badly, he disappears. He needs linemates who motivate him. He just kind of floats. Kind of reminds me of the old Dale McCourt. Here's a guy who has a hockey name, it sounds good on the broadcast but he can't for some reason, he can't put it together. I think Hodgson would do well if he were traded to the Leafs and put on a line with Kessel. But I don't think he does well with our pedestrian players, and that's what we have...just a bunch of run of the mill journeymen, rookies and a few fading stars thrown in. One quick thing Hodgson can do to try to improve: Change #19. Ever since Steve Atkinson, #19 has been the number of slackers and ne'er do-wells on this franchise. Change it Hodgson, the number 19 on the Sabres is cursed. Another thing I've wanted to say, despite all the optimism about "GMTM", he has shown me NOTHING.

That's funny. Revel on in your imaginary Super Bowl.

The NE color man who during the game said that the Bills would have a new coach and a new QB next year was right on. Kudos! I choose to remember this year by the D-line. Dareus, Williams, Williams and Jerry Hughes, who I hope they make a huge effort to resign. I was discussing the other day with a Detroit Lions fan...what's worse, to be a Bills fan, and get to within one foot of a Super Bowl but destined to failure, or a Lions fan who never even gets a sniff? We agreed there is no answer.

I'm starting to really tire of Drew Stafford and his guitar antics as well as the revolving 4 headed defensive beast known as Strachan/Weber/ Benoit/Meszaros. I think these defensemen have been brought here not as long term solutions or any kind of investment, but as mere placeholders for the youths down on the farm. Not sure why Pysyk hasn't been given extended time here. Ruwhedel should be given a chance too. But GMTM has to get off his duff and do something about this logjam at defense. Besides Risto/Zadorov/GorgesThey're all horrible, including Myers.

23 year old Magnus Paajarvi is already a reclamation project who was just waived by St. Louis. He's a former 10th overall first rounder a few years back. I think Buffalo should take a chance on the guy... http://www.elitepros...php?player=6014

I'd take this guy straight up for Myers.

I'm glad I didn't pay for this s**t!

Go Larsson!

Never seen him play. Sounds like he has the tools but doesn't have sense.

The collapse of the Russian ruble has dealt the KHL some hard times. Looks like some players haven't been paid since October. Maybe this would be a good source of raiding players...? http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/khl-threatened-by-russian-ruble-s-collapse-1.2877879

Doesn't look like any skills competition tonight.
