I see Myers through a different focus now. The hopes and prayers of this woebegone franchise is not on his shoulders anymore. Like Kane and Bogosian with the Thrashers, it was too much too soon for Myers. He was screwing up in Buffalo because he had nothing around him and they depended on him too much. Now that he has a decent team around him, he can grow organically into the hockey player he was meant to be. I hope he does well in Winnipeg, which is like Buffalo as a city in many ways. Speaking of too much too soon, Buffalo is relying on McEichel and Reinhart in a way that's reminiscent again of Kane and Bogosian with the Thrashers. My fear is they push these boys ahead too far, they rely on them too much and they suffer chronic injuries you've seen with Kane and Bogosian. The latter two were depended on too much by a weak organization when really they were boys playing against men. The result, chronically injured and professionally stunted.

Ladies and gentlemen, presenting the worst hockey team of all time. Not only will they not win any more games, they will not score any more goals the rest of the way either. Congrats Pegula.

I think we got rid of some cannon fodder…Mitchell and Flynn. Mitchell couldn't be happier and maybe he'll make some noise with the Habs. But these two were going nowhere fast in Buffalo. Stewart -- I'm meh about that deal. A second is very good but in 2017?…that's a long time to wait. At least the Sabres didn't get hosed as in years past when a player's contract expires to get nothing for it. And I think Chad Johnson might surprise some people. He was 17-4 with the Bruins a few years back and has a higher lifetime save percentage than Neuvirth. And throw in a 3rd round pick, that's good too. Mostly this giving up somewhat useful players to sacrifice for the tank. I'm more than ok with it if the Sabres get McDavid. Even Eichel will be fine. The 2 games remaining vs. Arizona should be interesting.

2017 is a long time to wait but a good trade for the tank. Pretty sad that he found out about it on live TV on tsn and not the Sabres. I see the Hasek tribute, the lack of Pominville tribute, the 2 successive tanks etc....seems like the opposite of a professional organization.

A great under-rated film; visionary.

Gobsmacked at all the empty seats in Sunrise, FL. They have a good team and it was Jagr's first game. FL definitely is not a hockey market and it must be moved to either QBC or LV. Attendance -- 10,000 plus? I doubt it.

What would you do, right now, as owner?

Simple, just forfeit the rest of the games. -
Connor McDavid or bust. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypimrn8H4Ow#t=46

Down boy. I'm an Angels fan myself and count my steroid-coated blessings for 2002. btw I like how the pitching staff seems to be shaping up now but don't like losing Kendrick.

Buffalo has looked much better at D since trading for Bogosian and getting rid of Myers and Stafford. Looks like they're playing a heavy, hard to play against game and may be a spoiler down the stretch. Now they have points in 5 of their last 6 games. Maybe 30th place isn't going to be in their future.

Kev, I partied in school but I wasn't a potential top 2 NHL draft choice, a position with a big payoff. While I think it's normal to drink, I have to be concerned that the partying might be a chronic problem. But basically I'm complaining about WGR as the cheerleaders of doom, a real loser thing the way they focus on it.

WGR Radio and website and the "Race for 30th" spot promos. These complete losers are licking their chops with daily articles, polls and opinion pieces about how are the Sabres chances for coming in 30th. They're trying to will the Sabres into the very bottom spot, for the second year in a row, so they can get a 20 percent chance at a "generational" player or the boobie prize of Eichel, who appears to be a talented drunk who should fit right in in Buffalo.

Yes, I do it but it doesn't work on Safari. Maybe I'll have to try Google Chrome.

I'd like to see them give Pysyk a chance for the rest of the year and send Zadorov to Rochester. Don't know if it's possible but that's what I'd like to see. -

Ok guys bend over and drop em. Nashville's in town. -
Kane does seem like a bright lights big city type of guy but I'll go out on a limb and say that the 38% that's Buffalo's black population, (100,000) as opposed to the 2.7% of Winnipeg (17,500) will make Kane feel more natural in the Buffalo environment. It must be odd for a star black athlete to go from metro Atlanta (black population 286,000) to the isolated Winnipeg prairie and then to Buffalo, although undeniably Winnipeg has great hockey fans. I do think that young hockey players in different cities tend to imitate the star players of their favorite teams and I think if Kane can get healthy, he might have legions of young fans in Buffalo.

Puck Daddy says GMTM's desire for Luke Richardson as coach

I'd like to see Uncle Terry hold a press conference but with just fans asking questions, none of his lapdog journalists. -

All the former players everywhere under the old regieme. Everyone except Perreault has been hired for something important somewhere down the line. Lindy Ruff, Rick Dudley, Don Luce Gerry meehan, larry carriere, how many others do I have to name? -

First, I think Nolan's toast. You don't coach two years and have historically bad records and goal scoring futility and last. If the Sabres go with a coach without NHL experience I'd like to see a Fred Shero/Bob Johnson type. A guy who has paid his dues in the minor leagues, who has won championships at different levels, who knows what it takes, ad inifinitum. Reading about Luke, there isn't much that's outstanding there in his coaching experience. He has only been coaching since 2012. He has 44-24 records in 2012-13 and 2013-14, that's about it. No championships. Now he's 20-24, in last place, with that team. It's just that he was in the Ottawa organization, Murray has familiarity with him and he's a hometown Ottawa native. That's probably why Murray picked up Andre Benoit as well. He was with the Sens. Nepotism, what has done the Sabres in, year in, year out might be back in style. -

I hear the rumors about Richardson too. Don't know if it's such a smart idea to hire a first-time NHL coach. We're already behind the 8 ball with his lack of experience. IMO There's too steep a learning curve for a guy to step in with "a minor league team masquerading as an NHL squad" (Daryl Dobber). Even if he was a d-man in the NHL for 21 years and is 6'4 220. The Sabres can't do anything right ever since Pegula put on his tin foil hat as captain of the ship, particularly their player development. They rely too much on youngsters and then ruin them. I'm afraid that's what happened with Myers and that's what's happening w Risto and Zadorov and will probably happen with Reinhart and McEichel. Because the rest of their players are a piece of crap, they over-rely on the youngsters. The youngsters get a mouthful of losing and their careers are ruined with bad habits, attitudes and expectations of losing.
