  1. Yes. More like a neurosis than a defense mechanism.
  2. Touche. But I feel in today's game he can change if/when he wants.
  3. If the Sabres win the lottery and get McDavid, I see five-seven years out of him tops. Back when the Sabres selected Perreault, players couldn't force their way out of town. If they could, Perreault would've been gone to the Habs, his dream destination. As great as he was, I'm convinced he would've been greater playing out his dream. McDavid's dream is to play with the Leafs, Buffalo's chief rival, but a rivalry that doesn't mean much to anyone else in the league. In this hockey era, great players can orchestrate the situations they want. Now Pegula might bribe him into a few years with insane money, but I don't think Buffalo means much to him. You only live once and by hook or crook, I see McDavid eventually going to the Leafs, if not by some manipulation of the lottery, then a few years down the road by his choice along with a powerful agent. And Eichel, if he turns out...he grew up near Boston...
  4. at $7 mil a year no thanks.
  5. Stanley Cup, here we come!
  6. Amen. The kid is only 18 years old. He needs time.
  7. They. Just. Can't. Score. I have no beef with the player's effort but I can't stomach this lineup. It's an AHL team masquerading as an NHL team. So much mediocrity combined with green players, most of whom will probably never bloom. Crummy talent and IMO a deliberate fielding of an inferior lineup.
  8. That's from the Jonah and the Whale monologue.
  9. "If you get there and you can not do it, there you jolly well are, aren't you." Lord Buckley
  10. I live near Boston too. Yeah the guys are hyper competitive but this knee injury I think happened while I was in bed asleep. Being 55 ( I tell them I'm 43) it might be premature but I might not play for a long time if at all.
  11. The Sabres already have two, count 'em, two more regulation wins than last year so I think we can declare this year a success. ;)
  12. Anyone ever get water on the knee or an injury to the maniscus? I'm just getting over a shoulder/arm problem and the other night I woke up after a dream and my knee hurt. I see the Ortho tomorrow for an xray/drain. Doc thinks it's wear and tear on the maniscus. Lots of hockey miles I guess.
  13. Kudos to RJ for coming back from the dreaded disease. He sounds just as usual but I hate to say that his usual spectacular goal calls are beyond his ability at this point. Maybe a summer's rest will invigorate the pipes but he just can't make a proper goal call at least this year. He can't get to the high notes anymore and I think that dampens his enthusiasm. (as well as this abysmal team)
  14. What makes me nervous is that McDavid and Eichel go to top teams like the Canadiens, Anaheim, Tampa, Pittsburgh etc. who don't need them and had a minuscule chance of getting them, leaving Buffalo in a lurch with neither, after subjecting fans to true misery this last 2 years. I wouldn't be surprised if there's a fix and there's not a thing we can do.
  15. Wonder what Murray was thinking when he flipped Halak so quickly.
  16. All the best to Rob : http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/2015/04/02/rob-ford-to-undergo-surgery-to-remove-cancer.html Keep it classy malooga.
  17. Meszaros, Larsson, Foligno, Gionta and Lindback. That's who I'd bench these last 4 games.
  18. Who are these players? Please name the names and cut them right now.
  19. Keep trying, maybe one of these locals turns into a gronk.
  20. Well…you can't lose them all.
  21. Buffalo needs to rush players' development because they don't have any good players on the big club to hold them down on the farm. This is what happened to Kane and Bogosian when they were on the Thrashers. They got big minutes as youngsters and they've become chronically injured because at first they were regulars; immature boys playing a man's game. I know Buffalo's desperate but they have to bring them up when they're over-ripe, not when they're still green. Unless Buffalo holds their young players back like Detroit has I expect them to ruin their young players in one way or another.
