Sabres '15 looks like a scrappy bunch who are capable of playing a heavy game and are hard to play against. But they still can't score. At least they haven't meshed yet. I don't think Gionta adds much; I think by his contract he just takes a roster spot from a hungry young guy like Larsson. I think Legwand is the more important vet they'll platoon Larsson with Legwand/McGinn...I'm interested to see what happens when Boghosian returns. Not sure if the Sabres will improve significantly in goal scoring this year; they look like counterpunchers without a coherent attack.

All this talk about Eichel...how about Young Samson?

Seeing this clip, Jack looks even more like Johnny Whitaker than Eddie Haskell.
-
Jack reminds me a little of Eddie Haskell on "Leave it to Beaver."
-
No doubt in my mind it will be Gus.

Hopefully Kassian will straighten himself out. He's still young so there's hope.

please retire this thread.

I miss Stafford...Not.

we need one great goalie.

Anything but that gd train horn. As we know from years past, you can't mask the silence of a morgue. Will the team be piping in applause again? Get the team playing well then think about a goal song. These Pegulas seem completely w/o taste or sense.

Duff should listen to George Carlin about bald white guys: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpCCbFSFeS4

Undisciplined, period. Rex has a big mouth and he will put his foot directly in it. He personally motivated Lewis. And while we're assigning blame, how about laying off the train horn--dillweed.

I'm referring to Gorges microfracture surgery on his knee. That should probably finish him. I'm a Larsson guy...He's a digger and tough as nails plus he's healthy. Hamilton said he had an entitled attitude...I'm not sure of that...but I am excited enough by his sample size to give him a chance. I don't want to have him pushed out of the lineup by expensive non-producing imports or guys who have great physical resources like Foligno but have been asleep since his initial burst out of the gate. I saw Gionta flipped on his head like a ragdoll and out for several months and I can see it happen again. It's not worth the risk because the guys he plays against are sometimes half his age and twice his size with insane mean streaks. Plus 13pts/15 games at garbage time isn't much to go on. I've been disappointed in Moulson for awhile too...he needs a Tavares to spoonfeed him because he is mainly a garbage collector with little else to offer.
-
I know it's not a popular opinion but I expect Moulson, Gionta and Gorges to be busts at this stage of the game. I know a super athlete who had microfracture surgery on his knee and he is not playing hockey anymore. It also might be time to get rid of Foligno, despite his dad and his many hometown boosters.

Salvador along with former NHL goalie Peter Ing run a hockey company specializing in innovative practice equipment. They have some really cool things and the website is fascinating. http://www.xhockeyproducts.com/

This is all wishful thinking of course but I wonder if Buffalo put in a bid? http://www.thehockeynews.com/blog/report-blackhawks-have-been-contacted-by-five-teams-about-potential-patrick-kane-trade/

Fans over in Colorado love his effort and were sad to see him go. If only he can stay healthy, he'll surprise people.

Slava Voynov anyone?

According to this article, a good NHL player should be built like a gorilla...long arms, big toso and short legs, with small calves...and that the ideal size for an NHL player is 6'1 with a 6'5 wingspan. Maybe Uncle Terry can genetically modify our teams for the future. http://www.habseyesontheprize.com/analysis/2015/8/19/9171871/anatomy-of-the-ideal-nhler-montreal-canadiens-carey-price-size-scouting-measurements-nhl

I was listening to ESPN Radio and they were talking w all the RB injuries, the Bills should pick up Ray Rice...

Great move for the National Hard-up League. How about helmets, visors, gloves and skates? Maybe next face tattoos w corporate logos? I do wonder when the home teams will wear white again...

After 15 years with Nashville, (top year 2006-7: 27G, 36A, 44 PIM) he got traded to the Wings for the playoff stretch. He left Nashville holding records as the leader in all offensive career categories. That offseason, he got traded to the Sens, to help with leadership (ahem). Again, he was there for one year (9G, 18A, 32PIM) and got traded to the Sabres. If he remains healthy, I can see 15-20G/A for 40 pts.

In case this hasn't been posted yet, here's Kane exacting NHL justice on Matt Cooke a week or so after Cooke hurt Savard. Kane can make his own space...I'm in for 25 goals.

When you think of Buffalo, Van is one of the first people that comes to mind. His calls were emblematic of the hopes and aspirations of the town. When he said "Wide right," you could've heard a pin drop in the entire city. No matter, it was a glorious run and Van Miller was a classic announcer we were blessed to have represent us. Here's how it should've ended. Rest in peace Van. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOWgcPyaq4U
