  3. Kane must be close to the top of the league in ENG.
  4. I'll miss McGinn and his ability to score the dirty goal. I don't see too many of our fancy dans doing that. I hope they can resign him in the off season.
  5. As long as there's a tanking Buffalo and a tanking Edmonton, there will be a job for Pardy.
  6. This year's deadline deals.
  7. Pysyk, Ennis and a 3rd for Yakupov and Purcell Foligno and Gorges for Cam Fowler and a 4th

  10. Avoid shootouts at all costs. Don't have anyone we can count on here.

  12. When Ville Leino scores again.
  13. Having fun listening to the Colorado broadcast, especially Peter McNab with his story about Punch Imlach. Also: interesting graphic said Gionta current career stats: 269 G 269 A.
  14. Makarov isn't happy. He didn't even get a chance with Buffalo. I think he's taking some shots at Lehner in this interview...Lehner might deserve these...he didn't even play well in the AHL before they brought him up to be the starter up here. http://thehockeywriters.com/andrey-makarov-not-happy-in-rochester/

    Tank 3.0

This team is going through growing pains. They're relying heavily on young vets who were traditionally 2nd or 3rd bananas where they came from and now have to be stars. Maybe they just aren't. Many of these were unhappy where they came from and were either injured, flawed or inconsistent hockey players. And they're also relying very heavily on the very young guys who are barely out of boyhood. These players, playing a boy vs. man game for the first time on an almost nightly basis, have and will be having serious, long-lasting and recurrent injuries because many youngsters are not in synch yet. All because the Sabres are trying to throw together a team that's supposed erase two years of unfathomable incompetence. I wish we could fast-forward the Sabres about 2-3 years down the road instead of watching this trainwreck. But it won't matter because this organization has a long history of mismanagement and I don't think that's going to end soon.
  16. Lehner has such a small sample size the last few years, let alone in Bflo, that it's tough to understand what kind of pro goalie he can be. His fiery mentality I think has hurt his concentration and it seems that confidence is a huge factor for him, one way or the other. Right now, he's trying to get his sea legs under him after the injury and I think they're babying him along a bit -- not playing consecutive nights. He has never had to shoulder the physical load of being a true #1 goalie because of ineffective play and then injury, and TM took a chance on him, hoping he could be the sort of solid netminder he envisioned. But sometimes envisioning doesn't translate in real life.
  17. It's the steaks. https://twitter.com/RealStamkos91/status/55070398752100353
  18. Maybe as soon as a team is mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, they should have the rest of its NHL season canceled. It would save a lot of this running for the bus shiite.
  19. All I know is Winnipeg is 24-26-3-51 and Buffalo is 21-27-6-48. The trades are a wash. It's mediocre for mediocre, it's bums with plane tickets and this supposed culture change is a fraud. Winnipeg has actually gone down this year while the Sabres are staying the same. They're both pretty much in last place so what's the argument? They are all non-factors, at least scoring wise.
  20. I'm worried about Moulson.
  21. Thank you, I smiled. But it was to-go. I'll have to remember to take Frank's in the trunk for similar emergencies.
  22. Kerry Fraser weighs in on the penalty shot... http://www.tsn.ca/talent/c-mon-ref-the-overtime-penalty-shot-that-should-have-been-a-minor-1.435038
  23. Had wings for the first time in about a year yesterday for the SB. Went to a place near Milford, MA that specialized in wings, thought I'd give them a shot. Asked for Buffalo style wings. They said they didn't have any Frank's hot sauce, they made their own. It was undercooked with no flavor and terrible. Had to put my own Frank's on it and it was still no good. I still have a queasy feeling the morning after. I'm not eating wings for at least another year, maybe never again. I just don't know where to go around here.
  24. Jack Edwards has developed a soft spot for the Sabres ever since homeboy Eichel came aboard. That's the explanation.
  25. From Complete Hockey News: Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand scored the game winning goal for the Bruins last night with an illegal glove. NHL Rule 12.2 "A glove from which all or part of the palm has been removed or cut to permit the use of the bare hand shall be considered illegal equipment and if any player wears such a glove in play, a minor penalty shall be imposed on him."
