  1. I'm excited to see what TM's gonna do. He has pulled off some doozies already early in his Sabres GM career. Hope they resign him soon!
  2. Since its existence, the Sabres' management has been the best in the NHL.
  3. Screw defense -- gets some vets. I want the Sabres to trade up and get Alexander Nylander. Look at this highlight reel. https://sabrenoise.com/2016/06/05/buffalo-sabres-draft-options-alexander-nylander/
  4. Once described as a blockbuster trade between two perrenial loser franchises, all the megahype may amount to...nothing. After an initial period of euphoria when Stafford and Myers contributed and the Jets actually made the playoffs, I now hear Jets fans grumbling about the aging floater and place-holder Stafford. Myers, who although physically gifted, is defensively flawed and has a history of serious injuries. Despite occasional flashes of brilliance, Armia hardly ever scores and is chronically injured and we know the serious problems that follow Brendan Lemieux. The late first rounder is a toss-up. On the Buffalo side, Kane is a gifted force but plays with a recklessness that leads to injuries that have piled up over the years. He was placed on a wing with Eichel/Reinhart and thrived but when O'Reilly came back, he bounced around with other linemates. Despite his community involvement and sincere words of apology after undisciplined breaks from the team, he is seen as selfish and craving the limelight of a big city. Bogosian has also suffered from inconsistent play and especially chronic injury. The early introduction to the NHL has resulted in injuries along the way the have made these two players undependable. Kasdorf doesn't have a chance to play any significant role for the team. Three of the four major pieces of this trade were hot potatoes with their former teams that had to be cut loose for various reasons. The other, Bogosian, is someone a team can't rely on because of all the injuries. So what it amounts to is a bunch of chronically injured and flawed players getting traded for each other. This so-called blockbuster is turning into a big "so what?"
  5. This clip is where you abstracted your avatar from, correct?
  6. RIP Rick MacLeish. http://www.flyerdelphia.com/2016/05/flyers-legend-rick-macleish-passes-away-at-age-66.html vs. Gil Perreault Showdown...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVhaaYUBApo (looks like Gilbert either choked or threw the event or it was fixed)
  7. Weihenstephaner beer is the oldest brewed beer (in the same place) in the world. It's been around since 1025 or so, brewed by monks in Bavaria. I discovered it at an Oktoberfest. It's a bit $ but it's my favorite beer so far.
  8. I scooped this writer: http://thehockeywriters.com/is-marc-andre-fleury-done-in-pittsburgh/
  9. I wonder if M.A. Fleury will become available now that Murray has become the Pen's go-to guy in net. Not that I'd want him and his $5.75 mil salary. An expensive back-up for the Pens.
  10. It's going to be the Sharks for the Stanley Cup. They've been good for a long time and it's their turn.
  11. yes he is, to me at least.
  12. They were scary good in 2006 but in that Ottawa game, Miller let in 6. And in the end vs. Carolina, they weren't so scary good. So yeah, maybe because of the long gap between Buffalo hockey championships (1969 anyone?) RJ has begged the question with his catchphrases, hoping they could help but ultimately falling short because of lack of quality on the ice.
  13. The gorilla in the room that not too many people talk about is the goalie situation. As big and imposing as Lehner is, so far in his NHL career he has been weak. I think TM is rolling the dice with this most important of positions to commit to Lehner who has never proven that he is an NHL starter with all his injuries and inconsistencies. Maybe he'll get on the right track but to commit to someone who has never proven anything, especially when he has someone solid already in net is a chance the Sabres cannot take.
  14. You might get your wish...http://www.draftsite.com/nhl/mock-draft/2016/
  15. the Sabres have only scored 4 shootout goals all season.
  16. Anyone have any stats on how the Sabres give up goals in the last minute. of the period?
  17. How does a player like Colavaccio get the #25 of an AndreychUk?
  18. Thumbs up. Glad it helped.

what has happened to Zemgus? he seems to have disappeared this year.
  20. Here's what Ben Scrivens has to say about what makes an elite shooter. Some interesting stuff to add to your bag of tricks...Maybe when he retires, he can become the first goaltender to be a shooting coach.
  21. I'm starting to like this new core. All we need now is Stamkos, Laine and a stud D and we'll be all set.
